Great Hoveround and very needed! It took awhile to get mediaid to approve it, but once the approval came in it only took a week to get my chair!

I understand a lot of these patients as im one that you have also jerked around NEVER AGAIN i wouldnt send my worst enemy here. I hope when people say their getting a new power chair i hope thats true because while i was watching a video on this guys ipad he rolled a wheelchair in my door no box no wrapping they didnt even measure to see if it would go through my doorways i got mine through medicare and insurance doesnt have a rep that comes out to see what their paying for just one of many issues when you hire professional's i would love to contact them but the bottom line is that nothing will be done as i said in the subject matter lip service all you give is a generic response none of what im saying has nothing to do with medical records or hippa it has to do with how you treat disabled seniors make the sale get the money from compliance to service tech these people that work here feel they can do no wrong just my hands on personal experience the time i wasted on hold absurd and then to get an attitude like i was doing something wrong you all need some sensitivity training you all must think its ok to impede a disabled seniors ability to have a better quality of life

HOVEROUND IS BEYOND HORRIBLE! Nice to begin with. They didn't measure me or anything. Just got the OK from Medicare, then out came a chair and they dumped it into my house. I never even plugged it in because I didn't know how. That's when I realized this company is SCAMSVILLE, USA! One day after delivery I filed a FRAUD CHARGE WITH MEDICARE! Because MC was renting it for me for 13 months, Hoveround took SEVEN WEEKS to pick it up and collected Medicare money while the chair sat there untouched. I told Charlie on delivery day 'IT DOESN'T FIT ME!" My legs were too long and the seat was too tight. It was NOT measured to fit me. The day after they Hoveround retrieved the chair, I met with two PTs and my doctor, and they all filed for a proper wheelchair made to fit. I have a scoliosis, pulmonary fibrosis, two new knees, a replaced neck and four rotator cuff surgeries, not to mention one fused wrist. Now I'm being taken care of by Travis Medical and they've wasted no time. FOR GOD'S SAKE, DON'T GET ANYTHING FROM HOVEROUND, MOST ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE ELDERLY AND IN REALLY BAD NEED OF A WHEELCHAIR. They never even showed up to change, fix, or correct anything as promised. And if you have one and want to send it back to H, DON'T SIGN ANYTHING! BEWARE THE FINE PRINT, FOLKS! Scammed majorly by Hoveround and to think I believed it to be a reputable company! It definitely is NOT!
Hoveround sent an evaluator/rep out to my house within a couple of days and they faxed my Insurance and the very next day, I got my Hoveround.
Hoveround was going to be a great choice!

Answer: So sorry to hear that. I am no longer living with my father-in-law, but I can add to my earlier review and comments. The company did exactly the same thing to him, again. A year later. They got in touch to say that Medicare had accepted their appeal and that the chair was now finally his, and they sent a guy round with the paperwork for signature and everything looked great. It subsequently turned out that Medicare hadn't approved anything and didn't know anything at all about the appeal, and that they were not going to pay. The story that Hoveround gave me was smoke and mirrors and back came the bill for the chair again. As far as I know, a year and a half on, the chair is still not officially his. I probably won't hear anything more about it now, but I'm quite glad I don't have to deal with these people yet again.

Answer: Yes, if doctor can prove medically necessary. Doctor must make file notes to support and you must have an office visit that only addresses the need for your chair.
