We actually found a pet in our neighborhood that was sent in email, we had the name and pic but Home Again could not give us the owner contact info w/o the microchip #. No way to search their database w/o it. We had to go door to door on the street to find the owners. They were unconcerned, robotic, and oblivious to how ridiculous that sounds. Don't count on them to help w lost pets!

I called with a simple login issue and a lost pet. They were too rude, stupid, and nasty to provide basic assistance and behave with basic manners. When I became mildly irritated as a result the agent said they would terminate the call if I continued "acting that way." I asked what way that was and they refused to answer. These people need serious psychological help.

They claim their customer service is open 24/7 but every time I've called, no matter the hour, they've left me on hold for 10 minutes, asked for my information, and then not returned my call. I wouldn't recommend this company, I am concerned that the chip in my dog doesn't have my information associated with it and there's nothing I can do to fix it, seemingly. The company got their money and that is all they care about, which is completely unsatisfactory in an industry where they need to be responsive both to lost pet claims and customer service from owners of chipped pets.

I have little faith that this chip will help me reunite with my dog if she runs off, and that was the whole point of purchasing the product.

SCAM ALERT
April 11, 2021

I just noticed that Home Alone did automatic withdrawal from both my bank account and my brother's, we live in the same house and we have two dogs. I don't remember ever requesting autopay and neither does he. He was charged for microchip renewal for both dogs and so was I. It is impossible to get through to anyone, they don't return calls either. I went online last year and asked for new id cards, never got them. I don't know if there is any way to get the charges removed from one of our credit cards since they don't respond to you so I am going to contact my credit card company and see if there is any way I can be removed from auto pay with this company. Very poor customer service and not sure why we are paying $22 per year for each dog when this company does nothing. Apparently I'm in the same boat as quite a few others looking at the bad reviews. I never got a confirmation email receipt, I checked both my email addresses.

Terrible Customer Support
July 5, 2022

I had my puppy microchipped during his vet checkup. I have the microchip ID number but am not able to register it on the Home Again website. I have spent several days calling / emailing them for support... but nothing.

I also sense a pattern when calling them. You get the normal prompts telling you that call volume is high, please be patient, etc. After 10 minutes (or so) of waiting, you're "allowed" to leave them a voicemail with name, number, microchip ID, etc. I have done that a few times, but nothing back from them. This company is toxic.

I'm having the same issues that everybody else is having. I figured it might be a "worker shortage" (lol), but this is how they have composed themselves for years now. They won't answer the phone, won't answer email. I had to try a different department and finally got somebody on the line. I didn't even finish my sentence where I was apologizing for choosing the wrong department, when they hung up in my face. These people do not care about you. They do not care about your pet. Once they have your money, they ghost you.

Not worth it
February 10, 2022

We were supposed to get free with membership 24/7 emergency phone help valued at $75 and no one answered. We were using several phones to call different animal emergency hotlines. Finally found Animal Pet Poison Help for $65 for the incident and they were great. Don't bother with this company. They take forever to answer their phones for general information as well.

Buyer beware
December 10, 2020

This business is a rip off. I adopted a dog on 10/6/20 and he was already micro chipped by this company.on 10/9/20 i phoned them, and switched info on my new pet into my name. This cost me $28.00. Then on 11/9/20 I got an email saying my annual subcription was expired, and i would need to pay another $28.00 to renew.
After several attempts to resolve, with no satisfaction, I received another email saying "Per your request we have removed your information from our data base" BUYER BEWARE!

It's A Nightmare
August 2, 2022

These people have no common sense! They charged me almost $50 for an enrollment and when I tried to call I was on hold for almost an hour! I tried so hard to just work with these people and maybe negotiate to see if I could at least get my refund, but nope! I sent them emails, I left voicemails, I never got any type of help, and any agent I spoke to left me on hold and eventually hung up! I can't... I'm just gonna close my account if at all possible to go with a different company. This is just ridiculous. I've NEVER been dealt like this before with any kind of customer service.

This company is a joke and I will not waste my time with them any more. Spent three days trying to register the tracking chip with them. Their web site is down and has been for the past three days, and no one answers the phone. After reading these reviews, I now know why I cant get through to them. They simply don't care about providing any kind of service. I have spent the last 3 days trying to get ahold of any actual person and I have selected every option in their phone tree menu and it just keeps me on hold and never connects me to anyone, even the "report a lost or found pet" no one answers. I stayed on hold for 2 hours on that line just to see if anyone would pick up. I will check with my vet on an alternative chipping as this company sucks and I will not give them any of my financial info and I will also be complaining to the local humane society that uses their chips.

I have registered my pets with Home Again for 9+ years and every year my bill comes with incorrect contact information, (and the last time I updated it was two years ago) even though I've updated it online religiously every time there's a change because my pets are very important to me, which is the exact reason I had them chipped.

So, finally this year I tried to call them to see why this information is not showing correctly on my bill and what contact information they actually have if somebody calls it in.

I've been trying for the past two days and have been on Muzak hold for 15 minutes each time. Then, they finally come on with a message to leave your microchip and your contact information for a callback and I've yet to receive a response.

Go elsewhere.

Horrible Service!
May 17, 2022

Be careful, if you register online, open an account with these people and give your card number. Even if you cancel, even if you erased all financial information from that account, they keep it and charge you even after you told them not to. It's impossible to close this account just by yourself online. When you call, no one ever answers, even the hotline, which is supposedly for emergencies for your pet! I've been calling them for three days now, different services (emergency, customer service,...) and no one ever answers. I'm now calling my bank to stop these people from charging me. I'm also filing a complaint at the BBB. This is unacceptable service that prays on your humanity and love for your pets.

Do not submit card information for the initial registration. The balance says it is zero; however, the company will charge you 22 dollars. You will then have to wait a half an hour on hold to talk to someone who is overseas.

I have had a cat in my possession for a month and called this company HomeAgain numerous times along with my vet and they do nothing to get in contact with pet owner. They don't call you back or anything. First two calls information was incorrect on pet, than third call they tried to say they had a update to their system and that may have mixed things up, but yet still no help. I would recommend anyone chipping their animal not to let their vet put a Merck microchip in their pet. Go with a different company and never register a microchip to HomeAgain. This company offers nothing for helping to reunite a pet, fixing incorrect information caused by their system, doing anything if the owner doesn't respond. Nothing absolutely nothing. They are worthless and that's why reviews are horrible for them.

Zero Customer Service
February 12, 2023

Found a lost dog with their microchip. They can't get in touch with the owners which I understand isn't entirely their fault. However, they have hung up on me multiple times, and when I say multiple I mean AT LEAST 5 times. They are making it impossible for me to return this dog to it's owners. Also been left on hold for 30 minutes at a time at which point I get hung up on.

I have spent over an hour of my life that I'll never get back tryin to pay these people money for my cat's chip. Something simple. No return call. No return to emails and the website does not work! Tells me to call. Ok. I call and nothing. If you get a choice stay away from these people. My ver didn't give a choice. I didn't even know I needed to think about it when I had him chipped!

I called to update pet profile information to switch an address. The woman put the address in wrong after I repeated it to her twice and she read it back. At the end of the call the woman tried to have me purchase pet ID tags which I do not need. As soon as I declined, she became nasty and hung up on me. When I emailed customer support about this issue, they did not address it and again let me know I can purchase tags off their website…

Undisclosed information
November 15, 2020

The cost of having this put in your pet is costly but what you aren't told is that there is an annual fee of $21.99. If you don't pay this then if your pet were to get lost, it would cost you $75.00 to have them find your pet. It seems like a business that is taking advantage of pet owners who are trying to help their pets. I'm very unhappy. My previous dog had a microchip that did not have an annual renewal.

Misinformation
April 6, 2021

I ordered a tag and was informed that it will be delivered within 7 business days. 7 business days had come and gone and no tag arrived. I called the hotline number and was informed that it actually takes 3-4 weeks. If I were given the truth I would not have ordered because we will be vacating our house within 3 weeks of my order date. They don't deserve a star.
