I ordered a book with a new gift card and weeks later got a letter saying it was insufficient.the card was the first time that I used it with them, I should have learned because it happen before but I tossed it off and used my credit card, but the card was a brand new one and they send me a letter saying no money...
They continue to send me a yearly devotional book even after I canceled it several times. I refuse to pay for something I did not order. I also refuse to pay for the shipping to return something I NEVER ordered. Stop sending them out!
Customer service is at best, HORRIBLE! This is my first and LAST time ordering from this company. They don't show a purchase on my account, although I received conformation of item shipped. Also, money has been taken from my bank.
They were unable to produce any shipping details although I paid for first class shipping, which is connected with a tracking number that they can't find.
I will give it a few days. Good thing I used PayPal.

Received purchase as described, so I will raise my rating to a 3... although I still stand that the customer service needs to be improved.
I will also continue to monitor my bank account for any unauthorized debits, which has been a problem with others.
I purchased a set of Christmas cards from Guideposts & they arrived in a plain white envelope damaged. The edges were bent. There was no protection of the cards - tossed in an envelope. If I wanted a refund I had to pay the postage to return the cards - otherwise I would receive another set in 3 weeks. I contacted customer service 3 times with no resolution. Fir an allegedly Christian organization they are mean, unhelpful, & do not care about thr customer.
I purchased a pair of pants $ 168. They only have one length - very long. I don't like rolled up pants so I returned them. It has been a month since they received the return and they charged me $9 return postage plus their original shipping charge of $18.00. They still have not credited my card for the purchase.
I am Roman Catholic and did not realize that Guideposts was otherwise. I am into the sixth month of a one-year subscription and five others to family. So, I get two reminders to renew my subscriptions with six months to go. I am supporting about 30 other organizations who have less than I do. So, if it is all the same to you, I will disregard the renewal notices at this time. The magazine is helpful but a little too mawkish for my taste regarding spiritual progress. Sounds haughty, but there you are. I have no pics and am 79, dependent on a CPU, landline and typewriter and still struggling as a sinner. Maybe my gift subscribers will write in and say different; it is all a matter of taste, we are all striving for the same eternal end. And I expect some people will disagree, which is also helpful. God bless everyone in these troubled times.
What has happened to Guideposts? For over 20 years now they were the top inspirational magazine, just above Readers Digest. Well I went to renew my annual today, and discovered they lowered the 12 month to a 6 month. But same cover price! Talk about ridiculous. And according to other longtime subscribers, this is a most unwelcomed and disappointing switch. What a pity, because it was a terrific magazine.
I have emailed, written numerous letters, etc to stop sending mail to my home address, stop emails etc yet they keep sending me these things, just got mail again the last two weeks and yesterday 8/31/2021 and again today. Really sick of being ignored by this company. I will never ever order anything from them again! As stated in my letyers, emails I will mail everything back to them as I have been doing for the the last few weeks. Really tired if this company what do they not understand?!
I ordered a devotional on 10/31/19 and didn't received by 1/12/20 so I asked for a refund. As of 2/12/20 I still don't have it on my PayPal. I have contacted them by email and phone and get a different story such as I was sent a refund on 1/14/20 or on 2/11/20 my PayPal was credited and from this point on I should contact PayPal. It was a small amount of money unless they are doing this to a lot of customers. Stay Away! If I could give them less than 1 star I would. This is the first time I've ever written a bad review about a company.
Guideposts has resorted to commercialism and false advertising. It has also fallen into the hands of idiocy. HUGE disappointment! The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing. One of those hands needs to be chopped off!
If I could give them no star, I would. I will never order anything from them again. In mid June 2021, I ordered two books. There was no mention that the books were out of stock. I called on July 15 to be told is would be shipped out in two weeks. Still no books. I called August 2 to be told it was shipped out on July 29. I ordered the books in mid June and now it is August and no books. All I have gotten was excuses and lies. You would think a Christian publishing company would be more ethical.
I ordered daily email devotionals and never received any. They charged my account and repeated efforts to get my charges reimbursed went unanswered. Needless to say, they got my money but I received no product. Then, they notified me that I would be getting a 2021 planner which I did not request so I replied that I didn't want it. They replied that I could return it. I have a hunch I will once again be charged for an item I am not keeping. Worst company ever!
If guide posts didn't have such good products I wouldn't buy from them their costumer service sucks! I have been badly talked to and even hung up on by them from just about every costumer service rep there is on guide post. If you want good costumer service I don't recommend guide posts.
I ordered a daily devotional book on 12/9/19. As of 1/10/20 I hadn't received it. I spoke to a rep who told me they'd resend it and I'd receive it in the mail by 1/31/20. I never received it. Today, 2/3/20, I called asking for a refund. I was told I'd ordered an e-book, which I still didn't receive, although the last rep I spoke to told me it was coming in the mail. Let's see how long it take me to get my refund. They've got some serious problems within their company.
Guidpost is supposed to be a Christian organization. Its not! They took money off my account because of an order. I did not order anything from them! They said that they couldn't refund my money unless I returned the book; which I haven't not received. I want my MONEY!
Despite claiming to be a "Christian" company Guidepost is anything but. They are still sending solicitations to my DECEASED mother. I have taken her off their mailing list, registered her with the "Deceased Do Not Contact List, and returned hundreds of their junk solicitations. This is the ultimate in disrespect. I had to put 1 star but my actual rating is ZER0 STARS. Absolutely never get involved with this company.
I never subscribed to this foundation and yet I have been receiving numerous pieces of mail from them. It's always the same old thing. Requests for donations.
I am not religious at all and I have contacted them several times asking them to stop sending me solicitations. I was told that it would take a few weeks before my address was removed from their system but I continue to receive their mail. They don't even know my actual name.
In each envelope they send two Christmas cards both filled with scriptures from the Bible. They expect everyone to send these to family and friends. I do not celebrate Christmas and have nothing to do with my family at all. My friends are not religious nor do they celebrate Christmas. They would think I had lost my mind if I sent them Christmas cards.
I don't know what it takes to stop this mail but I want it to stop.
My Mother-in Law passed away 6 years ago, and she is still getting mailings from Guideposts.
I have called them many times to get them to stop sending us her mail. The say they have no control because it is all automated. Soon it will be time to hire an attorney.
I ordered a CD from Guideposts and paid online. They cancelled the order with no explanation, then only refunded HALF of the purchase price. When I called to ask what was going on, they told me it would take 2 WEEKS to get the rest of my money refunded.
This company used to be so trustworthy but no more.
I ordered three of the 2021 All God's Creatures Daily Devotionals for Christmas presents last year. (2020)
As I was looking at my bank statement (October 2021) I noticed a charge of $68.20 from Guideposts. I called to see why I was charged. I knew I hadn't ordered anything since last year. They said that the BOOKS I ordered last year were an automatic renewal. I had no idea! It must've been in microscopic print because I would've never ordered them if I'd known that. I never received any notification that I was being charged, or that I was getting more books.
While I was talking to the Customer Service Representative I told them I didn't order books, and I don't want the books. The Guidepost CSR said that the books were in the warehouse and would ship in 4-6 weeks, and when I got them I could return them for my refund!
So to be clear I was charged for books sitting in a warehouse somewhere, that I didn't order, and they took my money out of my account without my knowledge, and there was NOTHING I could do to get my money back until I received those books, mailed them back, and THEN I can be refunded MY money!
Ridiculous! Do better Guideposts! Christian based company's should do/be better ethically! I'm so disappointed in you.
Answer: Not sure. It seems they are charging for products they aren't sending out.
