BLACKMAIL DOOR
January 8, 2018

This website should not be Legal. They REMOVED the positive reviews (and of course kept the few negative reviews) from our company after we refused their blackmail (selling us the way we profile our company). We are a small tech company that used family money to start a business and being blackmailed by glassdoor is unfair, unethical and vomiting. How can any HONEST human work for a criminal company like this!

The site does not allow you to submit a review despite claims to the otherwise. Each time I try to submit a review the site does not do anything. Either something is wrong with the site or I have not followed one of it's myriad of rules.

Glassdoor suddenly removed ALL of my reviews and interview reviews (even positive ones) that had been up on the website and approved (some for a few years) all on the same day. I tried reposting some of them and again, they were ALL approved and then removed. Some shady business is going on and I don't like it.

The site has misguiding reviews of even the best companies!. Their marketing strategy is get some few super bad reviews and then encourage the company to invite positive reviews from its employees. In the end their network grows. This is like first get a single star and then ask the company to get better reviews both biased in either way.

Absolutely terrible
June 25, 2014

Absolutely terrible. Gives a soapbox for disgruntled employees to write defaming and incorrect reviews. Responses by the company are deleted. There is no right of reply. As a consequence the reviews of the company are not accurate. Except Glassdoor which has wonderful reviews of itself and its CEO...

I thought for a while that Glassdoor offers good perspective about an employer's culture and other relevant information. Unfortunately, I found that Glassdoor removed my review after it was posted for a month and replaced it with a glowing HR review.
Then I digged in a bit more just to find out that more bad reviews about my previous employer were removed from Glassdoor. Glassdoor is a corrupt company.

I do not trust Glassdoor anymore for any information as they are manipulating employers' reviews. I will do my research about a company in a different way to find what I need about an employer and its culture.

I have rewritten several reviews about a company I worked at where the owners were beyond verbally and emotionally abusive. Everyone who worked at this cluster of a company either quit or was fired because of this. I would write a review and sure enough, the owner would either pay to have it removed or lied to Glassdoor about the author of the review. Glassdoor removed the review. I was within the guidelines of the review, so it wasn't like I was breaking their rules. Yet, the owner and his wife have posted several 5-star reviews under different accounts, and Glassdoor looks the other way. Not a problem, because I've already contacted several news agencies here in South Florida to investigate all sorts of underhanded business dealings of the company I was reviewing. Shame on your Glassdoor!

I was trying to get reviews about a company I was wanting to apply for. The site told me I had to enter my current salary info to see more reviews, I did this. Then I was asked to review the company I work for before I could see more reviews, as I entered my info more boxes popped in for me to fill out. I decided to spend that time filling out this review instead. I can't even give a review of the site content because I wasn't able to see that. Asks too many questions and gives you little info in return! Great concept that is being poorly delivered to the public!

I am working with a few companies to try and bring other companies against glassdoor for their scam of posting inaccurate postings to hurt originations. Would you mind sharing with me where you used to work and saw this being done against said company? I would like to see if your old company would like to speak with an attorney to get glassdoor to stop with its scam. Or you can have them follow on *******@glassdoorisascam

I am a licensed professional counselor and owner of a business that provides mental and behavioral health. I saw the "free" advertisement and agreed to this; did list important criteria for the counselor, and wanted applicants screened so as to meet the criteria. No applicants met all of the criteria. This wasted my time. Further, when I cancelled-I received a charge of $199.00 for the "free" month and an additional $199.00 for the following month of which I only used 3 days of. I attempted to charge back the unfair charges for the unsatisfactory services rendered of which I was not able to hire any of their applicants with no success due to misleading verbiage. NOT HAPPY.

This is total fraud. Keeping positive reviews of the company and misleading the employee is the biggest crime. Glassdoor is totally paid review site. Super safety services might have paid this glassdoor.com and all the positive things are happing for the compnay. Please dont keep faith on such a cheap and disgusting websites.

I do notice a lot of negative reviews on Glassdoor and consistency in the kinds of major complaints that individual companies receive, so I wouldn't say the system is totally useless. However, Glassdoor is bad at evaluating which reviews should be approved and which ones should be removed. Both my company reviews were removed without them notifying me. My reviews were thoughtful and didn't violate their guidelines. (One of my reviews was lukewarm and the other one was very positive, so it wasn't just a matter of them removing negative reviews due to the company paying them.)

When I asked them why my reviews were removed, they said "Per our Community Guidelines, we only allow members to submit one review, per company worked at, per year. We have removed your reviews due to violation of this guideline." However, I did not violate that guideline.

Fake Glassdoor
August 1, 2019

This company only posts positive reviews, even if they know these are fake reviews(ex: non-existent company location, non-existent positions). I posted an honest review about my experiences with my previous employer. A few other employees did the same. Everything was written in a professional manner. The next thing, all those reviews got deleted. Instead, the employer hired some unknown individuals to write fake positive reviews about the company. Not onlye these reviews were fake, they included fake location and fake job titles that never existed in the company. I notified Glassdoor about fake reviews. They answered that those fake reviews are fine, since they don't violate Glassoor's community guidelines. Glassdoor deleted all honest reviews and kept all fake reviews.

Over the last 6 months, many colleagues and myself have written reviews of a biotechnology company that we work for in Rockville, Maryland. At least 6 of these reviews were posted and then removed after the company CEO contacted Glassdoor and threatened legal action (we know this because the CEO announced it in a company-wide meeting). Since that time, at least another 6, highly negative, but carefully written so as be honest and free from any perception of libel. Not one was approved and posted. Meanwhile two "highly favorable" reviews appeared with ratings that took the company's overall approval rating from 1.6 to 2.0. TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH GLASSDOOR.

Date of experience: February 17, 2019

Overview

Glassdoor has a rating of 1.5 stars from 273 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Glassdoor most frequently mention community guidelines, class action and disgruntled employee. Glassdoor ranks 326th among Job Search sites.
