Bait and Switch fraud scam! Gave me an offer and now claim that my perfect phone has "scratches" on it, which it doesn't and they will adjust their offer from $579 to $344. My phone is perfect, always had tempered glass screen protector and in a heavy duty case since new, Gazelle is a total scam! This is a classic bait and switch and they are just hoping to catch enough people to make this fraud worthwhile.
"We regret to inform you that we have been unable to fulfill your order ****** and have had to cancel. We apologize for any inconvenience and offer you this free expedited shipping code that you can use on your next order."
I ordered with enough time to get here before my brothers B-Day and they send me this the day before. I've already spent over 1,000 dollars with them and this is how they treat their customers. They gave me free shipping as a result. I will gladly take my money elsewhere.
The new alchemy: turning unwanted electronics into cash. Super fast turnaround from box in the mail to acceptance. No petty quibbling about condition. This is the third time using Gazelle, flawless every time.
Sent in my iPhone In over 4 months ago and have not received a dime yet. I've called them over 20 times and when they do answer ( not usually the case) they give me bs about a shipping error or put me on hold until I hang up. Take my advice, throw your device in a river before you give it to gazelle.
Gazelle is honestly the best way to sell your devices if you dont want to do it privately. Ive sold 4 items so far and its been very easy to follow and you get paid very quickly. On one product they actually raised the amount of dollars because they rated it better than I what I thought it was worth. Anyway, love Gazelle!
I submitted my phone on line for a $128.00 value. Immediately upon receiving I received a notification that my phone had scratches and they could only offer me $100.00 or ship my phone back. My phone is perfect and no scratches what so ever! If they do that to every potential client and most folks will not want to hassle or fool with them returning the device then their profit margin just increased significantly. Not happy.
We all should know not to do business with with people like gazelle. It's just too easy for them to screw their customers. I bought an IPhone in "excellent condition". 90 days later it's got more malfunctions than I have time to describe. It's actually in worse condition than my original IPhone. Course
Don't do it folks, no matter how good it looks!
Bought a Samsung 7, received in February 2017. I loved it and was thankful to receive it in such a quick time and felt this was a great site to buy a phone for less than straight out of the store and seemed to work great during the first couple of months. BUT. It is now June 2017 and the back of the phone is literally warping off, and the battery won't stay charged, it will be at 90% and drop down to dead within an hour... I also unfortunately had a payment plan set up, so I'm left paying on a completely useless phone that isn't even a pretty paperweight at this point. Painful learning experience.
Purchased an I-pad mini on gazelle in August and it has never worked properly. It would over heat, the charge cord didn't work and the home button was hard to push on as it was indented too deep. Now 5 months later the home button doesn't work at all, and I still have the other problems. I feel Gazelle sold me a piece of junk that they barely refurbished. Now the Apple Store wants to charge me $250 to repair it. And Gazelle will do nothing. I will never use this service again and will make sure my friends all know.
Got an offer for a like-new iPad Air 5th generation, less than a year old and in mint condition. In the interest of fairness I rated it "very good" rather than "excellent" even though it had been used less than 15 hours total and kept in a case the entire time from day one. They offered me $375 which I considered fair. Upon receipt, they sent an email claiming it had multiple scratches (it has zero scratches!) and cutting the offer in half. I knew that was BS so I requested that they return it. Upon receiving the return, I checked it and, indeed, it was flawless. I think they hoped I would accept the low ball offer so they could double their profit. Turns out they do this all the time. I would avoid them and go elsewhere.
I tried to sell my old iPhone 11 Pro after I bought the iPhone 13. It as delivered last month and I still have not gotten paid. Very poor service both online and on the phone. Expected a lot better since others had a positive experience
This is the second time I've used Gazelle and I don't think I'd ever sell to another site.
You receive the package to send your phone in so quickly! The instructions are so easy and within just a few days I had already received my pay!
Have used services in the past. Went well, then. This last try I had to request new shipment box. Received email about offer, still waiting on funds after a week and a half. Now I have to request again. This has not been an easy process.
They lost my phone after claiming it did not turn on. Would not respond to emails. Had to call four times to get an answer. And then they failed to escalate, another call, and claims person was curt.
Had great experiences in the past. Seems like some type of growing or operational pains.
My iPad mini was rated in excellent condition, and was notified my happy check was on its way That was 3 weeks ago. Gazelle customer support is a broken record. They keep telling me my case has been escalated with no results. I'm considering my options to compel them to either a) pay me or b) return my product.
Terrible customer service they used to be pretty good I have bought phones from them for years. But in the last year or so their customer service is almost non existent. Wait times are at about a hour if you dont get disconnected. If you have a issue with a phone or Order your pretty much on your own.
I kept getting emails stating that my phone was still locked when it had been unlocked since prior to me sending it. If the practice is for clients to just call in... then make it that way. Updating the information online is NOT a good working source... and once I called and stated the same thing that I had entered online, the representative gave me MUCH attitude and made me wait on hold for 5 minutes until she got a confirmation code for me for my order. Very rude and very time consuming.
I believe Gazelle used to be great but ever since they got popular I believe they are cheating customers. My phone had a slight scratch on it, and even though I check that box when receiving my offer, they still decreased my original offer by 50%! What is worse is this company throws away all your packing and accessories when you decline their offer, making it harder for you to sell on another site. Avoid Gazelle at all costs!
After reading all the 1 star reviews, the switch/bait scam that Gazelle is running, the lag in payment as promised, the phones not received. WOW, I have never, ever read so many negative reviews in my life for any business or product. I will stay away from this company and try and sell my cell on Craigs List or EBAY. I'm glad to see actual people who have had dealings with Gazelle be brave enough to post their complaints. This helps us out here who were considering using them.
This is the second time I have used Gazelle. Each time it was a quick, easy procedure. They send everything needed with simple directions to follow. There was a small scratch on my phone, so I rated its condition as good. I received an email saying that my phone was better than my rating, so they added five dollars to my check - not much, but definitely appreciated!
Answer: No experience with that. Experience with their staff and their customer service, don't fo business with them. My phone was returned in October, and I still have not received my refund. They finally sent me an email saying my return was received, in December but tracking showed it received in October, and still no refund.
Answer: I would not buy from or sell to Gazelle regardless of what they claim.
Answer: No! Dishonest! Had to file a dispute with my credit card company tinged my money back and that took 3 months
Gazelle has a rating of 2 stars from 1,075 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Gazelle most frequently mention customer service, perfect condition and screen protector. Gazelle ranks 48th among Consignment sites.
