My daughter was injured at her job. They failed to adhere to workers compensation rules and actually closed the restaurant that same night. My furnace stopped working on the 1st day of the rolling blackouts. My power was off approximately 20 hours a day. I had a very hard time getting a repair person due to problems throughout the area. I had on sweat pants, heavyweight terrycloth bathrobe & 2 heavy blankets to keep from freezing. I have gas burners on my range but they did no good. I have a gas log fireplace which is strictly for cosmetic purposes. No heat from either. When the HVAC repair person got the replacement parts it was about 8pm & i had no power. He had to assemble my furnace with only a flashlight. He told me he thought it would work when the power came on. The power came on about 2:45 am. Otherwise i had power only about 30 minutes at a time until Tues morning. I had no land-line & mobile service to tell anyone i was ok. I need a CPAP to sleep which i couldn't use since there was no power. I slept in my recliner for 4 nights for fear of freezing. Ŕepairs for my furnace was $1,100. Fridge repairs was only $45.00
