I've had the Fitbit app for years and we use the zip.
It was a program that totally encouraged you to move more every day.
Since Google took over - things don't sync right - all of the stats you could look at for encouragement are just not working anymore. Fitbit was GREAT - now I'll look for something else.

Swindlers
November 19, 2020

I am a visually impaired and my specific Fitbit model was bought to allow for as much screen room as available. My particular device refused to sync during the warranty period. So we decided to contact Fitbit support. What a waste of time this was! First I was offered to pay them more cash to upgrade and when that was declined their replacement solution is an older model device then mine is! Ridiculous customer service within this business. I will start to purchase Apple smart watch products hoping to receive a better quality item. Will never advocate for nor promote a Fitbit device for the duration of my life.

Cheap tracker connector
October 16, 2021

After warrantee expired (1 yr and 2 months) the connector on the tracker totally broke off. No longer able to attach it to my wrist. Only offer was 35% off another purchase of equal or lesser series. The tracker works fine. I am trying gorilla glue to re-attach it. So far so good but I sure this is temporary. No more fitbit products for me. I will try another tracker from another company and see how that goes if I have to get another.

I have had the worst experience trying to replace my broken strap which is still in warranty. First, they confirmed delivery of a new strap but 3 weeks later still no delivery. After multiple follow-up attempts they let me know there is no stock and can only ship a new strap in another 3 weeks. That means one has to wait a total of 2 months just for a replacement strap. I asked to speak to their complaints department but they say they don't have one. Can you believe it. Now I know why all South Africans have moved over to Garmin. Stay away from Fitbit in SA.

I purchased a Fitbit Sense device as part of a promotion that was advertising the inclusion of a 6 month Calm Premium membership subscription.

I consider this to have been false advertising because Fitbit not only failed to provide access to Calm Premium but also firmly and continuously refused to do so even after I had provided ample proof that my purchase was completed while the promotion was active.

There is a similar promotion occurring now:
https://www.fitbit.com/global/en-ca/products/smartwatches/sense

I strongly recommend against buying this product. My experience is that Fitbit will not include what is advertised as "included" with their product. I no longer trust this company.

Customer service
August 16, 2020

My band broke on my Fitbit and get another one I need to know what style mine is. To do that, I need to log in to my Fitbit account. I tried to reset my password with at least six different passwords about twenty times and each time it told me it needed to be more complex. I used nice characters, capital, special character, and a number. Customer support was absolutely worthless. I spent about an hour on a password change. Got cut off twice because apparently if you don't interact within time limits they discontinue the chat and make you start over. They just kept telling me to try different passwords. So now I still can't get into my account and still have a broken wristband. Absolutely terrible customer service.

Don't buy from this company!
I got the ionic for a Christmas present a year ago. Loved it till I tried to down load their update, it froze my ionic. I followed the instructions nothing worked had to shut It down But now it will not turn on. Even though it was THEIR update that killed my ionic they say there's nothing they can do but give me a discount on a new one.
There are many with this same problem in the Fitbit support site.
Don't throw your money away At Fitbit. It's better to buy from a different company that is more reliable and takes better care of their customers

The worst customer service ever
After only four months My fit bit Alta battery stopped working so I had to send it back to the company. It took a month and I had to contact them over 20 times through email and telephone calls to get it replaced. This is absurd! I don't know how they stay in business.

FitBit should be ashamed
September 2, 2017

Fitbit should be ashamed. They build their watches to last only about a year to a year-1/2, just out of warranty. Then offer you a new one at 25% off their full price! (There have been sales for that much off.) My husband's first one fell apart in about 6 months and the second one in about 8 months, and by then, it was out of warranty. Mine broke in just over a year. $130-150 is too much to spend on a watch that can't even last 2 yrs. They clearly don't care about standing behind the name of Fitbit. It's an inferior product that is selling for too much when you have to replace it every other year.

Hi Rebecca,

We're sorry to hear about what happened to you and your husband's Fitbit tracker. We definitely didn't expect that to happen to any of our trackers.

Our team has offered you the discount because we want you to stay with the Fitbit family. Additionally, the idea behind the discount was to provide you an option to upgrade to a newer tracker with a slew of new features and accessories. We've applied even more stringent testing to our new trackers for better quality.

The offer is always on the table and we'd be happy to see you continue stepping with us. Just reach out to us at contact.fitbit.com or just reply to your original case and we'd be happy to get you back on track with Fitbit!

All the best,
Fitbit Support

I have contacted Fitbit about two Charge HR trackers: mine and my daughters as the straps on both are falling apart. Fitbit have have offered me a replacement or discount on another product to replace my tracker. However there was a delay (on my part) in finding the email address linked to my daughter's tracker which proved the date of purchase and that it was within warranty. Once we had sorted out that problem I assumed they would offer a replacement. But - NO - they want her tracker to be paired to a computer. Why -? We just want them to confirm they will replace it. This saga has been going on for weeks. I think they need to improve the training for customer service staff - perhaps pay them more?

I walk my dog in the forest for about 2 km, which takes me 40 minutes. Fitbit calculates my average walking speed as 34 miles/hr.
Retailer requires me to contact Fitbit. Fitbit does not reply to emails, phone calls are only via call centers who are useless.
My Fitbit is expensive rubbish.

Slow, unhelpful service. Extremely unwilling to do anything to help me, provide only the same basic pre-written answers. Like talking to a robot who is particularly unhelpful. Would never buy from this company again, with such terrible service it is impossible to fix any problems.

The first time I charged my Flex 2, the battery overheated. They replaced it. The replacement does not match up with the dashboard- example today, tapped the band- nothing. Finally a red light appears. Go to charge it up. My dashboard says fully charged. Though I have a new Windows 10, it will not sync so I must continue to use a dongle. Even then, I must force a sync. This is ridiculous. I won't be buying another fitbit. There are other products out there. My first fitbit was a Charge. The band fell apart JUST AFTER WARRANTY. 25% off from a select few? Great. Sorry - you are losing another customer.

FitBit Charge 4
December 14, 2020

FitBit Charge 4 - A complete waste of money. To think I spent over 100$ for my first tracker and it sucks. Battery dies every day or 2, lights up for no reason way too often and if I try to look at the screen it never turns on. Can't use Spotify or GPS without my phone so why does it say all of that is built in? All I can do on the watch is press play or next for Spotify which is harder to use than my phone anyways. Never buying anything else from FitBit.

Useless
September 16, 2022

Wanna know the best Fitbit to purchase? That would be a Garmin product. Read the reviews of other Fitbit customers. Their products don't last and they don't stand behind them. I won't bore you with my issue with an Inspire HR but will say that it mirrors all the others that have complained. When you get to the final stage with their customer service you will be offered a 35% discount on a new Fitbit. Who would really want to spend more money again on a Fitbit that won't last? Move on and save yourself some money and guaranteed hassle down the road

I've had a FitBit Flex for several years and it's made a big difference in my overall health and fitness. Fitness trackers don't magically give you motivation, but if you're motivated already it can give you that extra boost. The Flex is simple to use. Just sync it into your computer account and you're good to go. You can choose how much you want to keep track of. Some folks want to track everything. I just use it for steps and competing with friends. The only issue some people have with the site is they don't answer online requests very quickly if at all. The best advice is to call customer service and speak to a live human...*******997. They're very good with replacing broken or defective devices for free but you have to call.

I have called 3 times for a refund for the Premium Account on the day that my "FREE" trial ran out. I never used any of the useless services. I have been given the run around every time. This company is atrocious! Buyer beware, customer service is not in their vocabulary. As soon as your credit card is charged the $85, that is all they are interested in.

Longevity
January 16, 2018

I have had two Fitbit trackers. My first was the Charge HR. It lasted about 1.5 years and then came apart where you pull into charger. Fitbit offered me a 25% discount since it was out of warranty. I used this discount to order the Blaze. I have had it for 1.5 years and it is now freezing randomly. While they last, they seem to work well. Just don't expect to get any longevity from these products. Fitbit has offered me a 25% discount for another tracker. I am looking elsewhere.

Poor quality
November 4, 2019

I have the Fitbit Versa and it cracked with normal use after about 2 months. They clearly don't make the screen very strong as I've read many reviews with the same concern. The warranty doesn't cover this, as I'm sure it happens often. Instead of strengthening the screen and offering a replacement, I was offered a discount for another. Why would I purchase another with the same issues? Don't purchase if you have an active lifestyle, which is clearly why we want it! So frustrating!
