The overall reputation of the company is significantly marred by customer dissatisfaction, primarily due to perceived deceptive practices regarding refunds and subscription management. Many users express frustration over the lack of suitable matches and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of wasted time and money. Customers frequently highlight inadequate customer service, with limited access to support and automated responses exacerbating their concerns. While a few users mention positive experiences, the overwhelming sentiment suggests a need for improved transparency, better quality control of profiles, and a more responsive customer service approach.

Recently I went on eharmony as they were giving a weekend trial. While the trial was going I had 2 requests for my photo & a couple of people who wanted to jump to talking straight away. I was excited as I thought the site was going to help me find a partner. So foolishly I signed up &6 months was all I could apply for. Well, since I joined up I continually receive matches daily I have never been contacted by the men who requested my photo, I think eharmony scam people into believing men are interested &then throw you to the wolves. You have no way of contacting them with a complaint but try signing up &a consultant is on line in moments to help. The company needs to be investigated for fraud as they are fraudulently scamming lonely vulnerable people out of their savings. I have talked to many people who have experienced the same trouble
Having used internet dating sites in the past, I was persuaded to try this one by a friend. EHarmony is terrible, poor completely computerised matching service, matched me with people just because they said they liked cats! Tried to cancel my membership and they initially refused to take down my profile, they agreed to eventually, but I had to threaten to write to the media. Makes me wonder how many profiles on there are for people who are no longer active members, but forced to keep their profile on there. Also, they have taken money from my account after I expressly forbade them from doing so. I wouldn't touch this company with a barge pole if I were you.
I certainly was encouraged by everything I read about eHarmony I was really excited and sincere about joining. Been a very active person I lost my husband and wanted to meet some nice people. So far on eHarmony I average at least one scammer the day if not more. And while I report them to customer service as I write this review one person is still up there probably trying to convince other women to send him money. It's so old the story over and over again with these scammers and I feel that eHarmony is doing nothing to protect its customers. Women between the ages of 50 and in their 60s seem to be the most vulnerable and that is my category. It's really a shame because the concept is excellent. I'm doing my area I don't know people in the scammers use your local area and create profiles just for you! So if your woman out there seeking a man I suggest you be very careful. I'm not canceling my subscription mean because I feel it's almost my obligation to get these guys since apparently there's so attracted to me. Usually been telling them they're caught it gives me some satisfaction but I still look at eHarmony and their system to better sure my safety!
Come on. Everybody here is claming about bad results? I got some nice dates here. Ofcoure there are fakes, but where are not?
Ok. I use also datingme.org and the got fewer fakes. But anyway. Try both and get happy:-)
I live in Algiers, Algeria, North Africa, so clearly all my offered matches so clearly ALL my offered matches would be in America? Come on Guys - strongly recommend OK Cupid as a more simply ABC alternative - and its free!
At least half of the members or users that you are being match with do not exist or are members who already delete there accounts. Why would eharmony would match a client with a fake person?
The matching criteria of users are not respected. Eharmony will match with the type of people you previously set up your choice not be matched with.
Eharmony dictate the communication between users if you attempt to email another without going through the useless questionnaires list. Eharmony will delete your sent messages or remove the users from your directory
EHarmony wouldn't even let me use the site. They said they couldn't find a match. WTF! That's garbage. They need a better algorithm. At least they didn't waste my money.
The ads for this company suggest meeting lots of people and with much success. Nothing cold be further from the truth. I have been a mameber for about 2 months I have recieved one message! In all that time. And they were not suitable I had requested a non smoker and the man that messaged me was a daily smoker. Biggest waste of money. Don't get your hopes up it appears to all be BS!
I joined E-Harmony to find "the love of my life", i have better luck in the produce isle of my grocery store. The matches they provided to me were pathetic. I kept receiving emails from the E-Harmony people suggesting that I widen my settings in order to receive more matches. What that means is to expand your distance setting, accept smokers, change the importance of religion, and of course age group. They continued to give me matches located outside of the requested distance and age range and they would say things like "how far will you go for love". Most of the men looked like they were living in some correctional institution.
Please don't waste your money on this site, you will be sadly disappointed. In addition, they keep profiles up long after the people have closed their account. I have men who advised me they saw my profile on E-Harmony when enticed by a free weekend of viewing and communication when my profile should be de-activated.
I had signed up for a trial period on eHarmony which required my credit card number. After my trial period was up, they kept charging unauthorized payments of $47.80, saying that it is "to provide customers with better service of uninterrupted service to their profile".
When I emailed them to dispute these payments, they took off another payment without my permission just hours before I could call my credit card company to change my card.
This website is a scam. They prey on people hoping people will just give in and pay the $47 and not do anything about it because they make it extremely difficult to get a refund or cancel a subscription.
They made a great ads, and everyone knows E-har. But after joining this website you understand how bad it is. Search options are terrible. For what to ask all these questions after that to send matches, I wasn't looking for?
I took the 6mth package - but before I did - I called company to ask if they were affiliated to any religion. They said no... however - they are Christian. In my opinion, my photos and profile are excellent - according to impartial judges. 90% of matches I receive have no photo, nor are their profiles even close to my alga rhythm/profile. I receive only one match every few days.
Comparing to Match - which is cheaper - reaches more matches - and sends me 10 matches per day - there is no comparison. I have been on many dates with Match ----( I do not work for Match!) -
Stay away from eHarmony. It is an absolute waste of money.
I called the company after spending $200 for 5 months of my 6 mth contract. Asking to please cancel my contract - they would not. Sent me email of Customer service... I have written to them 5 times... without even an auto-response.
EHarmony is a waste of your time and your money... not only that -- it will aggravate and frustrate you. Stay away
Pros:
-different way of finding match but I found it not to put so much emphasis on looks. Ask lots of questions about personalities. That said, sometimes seems they ignore personalities and suggests people that are not a match.
-billing was done in a reasonable matter and no tricking you into extending your membership.
-nice site setup.
-good amount of people using it.
Cons:
-was confusing at first lots of questions.
No way this company should even be allowed to operate. Total bull and I'm contacting the state attorney generals office to see about a class action lawsuit. The site has locked up so many times, so many times. You can not do you own search, there is no opt out until the entire payment is made. I would like to hide my profile, NOPE, can't do it! OK how about calling for help they deliberately do not have a contact phone and 3 times I tried to send an email message to request help every time it gave a return message saying try again an error occurred. I hope and I really do that the AG's office has some teeth to change the way this company operates. More to follow or call your own state and find out how to file a complaint.
AND THE 5 STAR REVIEWS ARE WRITTEN BY HARMONY EMPLOYEES NOT CONSUMERS LIKE YOU AND I!
This is the worst dating site, 70% of matches they sent me are no longer active members and you can't imitate contact with them. There 72 hour cancellation policy is a joke, At least give customers 7 -30 days refund option. Match.com stands behind what they say and if you aren't happy with them you can rquest a refund.Ok cupid and plenty of fish are free. They have tons of matches and don't charge fees to use their site or to converse with other members. I don't recommend anyone to sign up for their site. Save your money.!
If there was a Negative star above I would rate this company in the negative
If you are looking to find a nice man on a dating sight DO NOT get on e harmony. I so wish I had read all the reviews before I got on the sight. You can NOT do your own searches. You have to rely on who's profile is sent to you. A lot of them do not have pictures, are not what you have asked for and I had married men profiles sent to me plus numerous fraudulent profiles sent to me. A lot of scammers on this sight. I had 3 in 2 days. They send very few profiles and a lot of the profiles they send are out dated and the people on there are not even checking their account. This company is unethical in how they deal with money and payments and do not have an easy excess way to get a phone number for them for customer service. It is NOT what it is advertised to be! Check out all the other thousands of reviews for confirmation! I don't know how they stay on the internet and in business?
I Had a really good experience on this site. I did meet my wife on this site and i couldn't recommend this site enough to people. Im a guy and i did get a lot of responses back from women over the course of my subscription. You have to be committed to it though. It took me about 6 months and going out on several dates with women to find the right person. Just be patient with it and the site will throw some good matches your way.
Horrible site, bad connections, the matches they send you are not even close to what you put it as what you are looking for. They match you with people from other states.
I cancelled and they said sorry, they renewed and I complained and they said sorry, your setting were on renew, I made sure that it was set up not to renew. The old guy that is the spokes person is a good scammer...
Spend your money elsewhere.
They are over priced and and have very very few matches
Answer: EHarmony is over rated and it's a lot of mumbo jumbo... If you're going to pay for a site match.com is set up much better and for a free site plenty of fish is really a nice site... BillyPrewitt.com
Answer: No. They won't refund you.
Answer: On your profile where you get asked questions like whats your fav movie and so on. Replace any answers you have already left with offensive language which in turn will violate their terms and conditions and they will have no option than to close your account. As for getting a refund good luck.
Answer: I called my credit card company because I cancelled within the three day grace period. Eharmony tried to say I had waited too long and therefore would be no refund. My credit card company disputed the charges, my account was credited and I was just notified that the dispute has been approved. No more eharmony charges. Hoe things work out for you.
Answer: You can't opt out. You are locked for the whole duration of your subscription even if u dont use it anymore they will charge ur visa regardless untill ur contract expires. I have to spend 11 more months to a site I cant use coz Im a transgender woman and no man in there wants me.
Answer: Well I have but I No longer on those sites anymore because they are scammers of course and I was on match truly.com and I deactivate my account off there as well but however sometimes I register on that website match truly.com even though I'm No longer a member on that website anymore because I still see the same lady Anna I'd Number is 60780729 and she's still online right now just like any other ladies you see on that site so I go on there just to waste their time and use abusive behavior against them to teach them a lesson and I don't pay money for that so that's why if you Noticed just pay close attention to the lady Anna on match truly.com and you will see her on wishdates.com and many other dating sites so I'm just tracking these websites down and you can see the ladies are Not real and can you tell me what Normal person would stay online 24 hours a day and seven days a week that's Not a Normal person that's a Networker and they like to make all kinds of excuses for themselves so don't listen to Nonsense about what they say because if you keep talking to these fake ladies they will Robb you out of your money so pretty much wasting your time because you are Not getting anywhere but a dead end and believe me I know what I'm talking about because I was on that website for two years and believe me they are phony and so is the customer support they are fake and they think they are very intelligent human beings and they think they can manipulate people so just watch yourself and be careful because I'm still seeing the same ladies on that website today from two years ago they are Not real and they are Not looking for anyone
