Darn Good Yarn

OK, I read the bad reviews on this site, and most of them came down to it taking forever to receive the skirts. (I was responding to a FB ad, buy 2 get 3 wrap skirts free). Everyone eventually got the skirts and liked them so I figured I would give them a shot.

I stated my color preferences but added that if it was too hard, to give me whatever they had.

Well, a week and a half later I have my skirts! In colours I love!(OK I like some better than others but the skirts are reversible and each skirt has at least one side I love) I ordered the plus size because I am. I am wider in the hips than waist, and usually wraps don't work because they open at the hip but these worked really well. My husband loves them. I love the smooth silky feeling. They're awesome.

Obviously the owners read the bad reviews about slow shipping times and decided to do something about it.

Great company, great mission, fabulous products and the BEST customer service around! The sari skirt facebook group and live sales give me life through this pandemic.

I've been subscribed to DGY for a little over a year now and I love everything about this company. In addition to my monthly subscription box, I've also made numerous other purchases and have always been pleased. I can only think of one time where I had an issue with an order and it was resolved quickly. The customer service is exceptional and the products are great quality. The karma points program is an awesome perk and I've gotten quite a few things for free using them. I especially appreciate how my purchases are helping to provide sustainable employment for so many people. My most recent purchase was 3 hanks of the beautiful Malabrigo sock yarn and I'm super excited to make something with it! I always look forward to getting my packages from DGY!

I fell in love love for the beautiful scarves in the presentation.
I use scarves, I don't want to explain why... I was eager to receive them. After a long time, finally they arrived. Not the main complain BUT, they ask for the colors you want! I mentioned them. There was a high pink and a many blue/ aqua colors shown. The ones I received have no colors like those the dominant color of the "pink" one is yellow, the "aqua" one, green, even red! Why are there SO different and Behhh! Yes the ones you present are Gorgeous... Not what you receive. I wish I can return them. But besides, thanks for what you do.

The yarn I got was honestly fine but they gave me the smallest tools of yarn even though I ordered 4 I still didn't have enough to make a blanket. I made this purchase on their website and paid through my Amazon account. Little did I know they created a whole 2nd account when I did that so I couldn't find my order to return it for a whole day. Then I went all over this website looking for away to return the yarn and there was no way I could return it. I went to the FAQ page was asked to sign in again and my sign in wasn't found. Still waiting for a response. Another email went to the email on the Amazon account. So as we're trying to return the items they won't return what I paid for $59.99 and they'll only return it for $51. This website is a scam

I bought eight of these scarves. They are made well. But I ended up with patterns and colors that did not mingle well - lots of darker colors like browns and golds and orange and black and darker blues. It is not worth sending them back. I am in hopes that after everyone fully opens their scarf and lays it out so all 7 bands of fabric can be seen that we might be happier with them. Had asked for pinks and purples and blues and greens and yellows. Very little of those colors. Three of the scarves were for teen girls ages 15,16, and 17 - I don't think they will be happy with the colors/patterns that were sent.

UPDATE: So, last night I took my scarf out of the package and realized I was only seeing 3 bands of the colors/pattern with it folded up in the package. When it is unfolded you get to see the entire lovely scarf. I am more pleased now and can't wait to see the people I gave these to open the package and unfold the scarf so that all seven bands are seen. This company is awesome and I enjoyed the instructional cards on how to care for the scarves and the positive vibe postcard that was included. Will keep you all posted.

Darn Good Yarn is a great company that helps to employ talented and skilled women artisans in India.The products they sell are awesome, and it is alot of fun to get their mystery items and/or subscription services, as you will be surprised at all the variety they carry. If you like vibrant rich textures and beautiful colors for your yarns, this company has that. They also sell gorgeous clothing and accessories. I always get lots of compliments on my Sari skirts, and best of all, they are made from earth friendly, repurposed materials.

I love DGY! Nothing has ever been wrong with my orders! Every package I receive brings mystery, excitement and more joy than anticipated. Their customer service is exquisite! I've contacted them for various reasons regarding my account or their rewards program. Each time they always respond with a quick and thorough answer. I love this company for their structure, purpose and vision. They empower women across the world, and provide products for women of all shapes and sizes.

I am writing this review because as new to the crocheting Craft I was excited to to sign up for darn good yarn membership. I received the initial membership package minus the bonus gift with the promise that it would be included in the next package, which never came. March 2018 my monthly payment was debited and as of April 2 I have not received it. They have now deducted the April payment. Attempts to get a verbal response after several phone calls has not happened and I continue to receive apologetic emails with varying excuses. I wish to cancel my membership and will know longer do business or recommend them

I LOVE this company! I tried their mystery skirt sale DGY picks the patterns and colors for you. This was a bit nerve racking for this control freak, but they sent me the most lovely and perfect skirt. I have since add both short and ankle length skirts to my wardrobe I'm 5'5" and the lengths on all the skirts was spot on. The skirts are flattering and beautiful. The wrap around design has ample coverage, so no gust of wind peep show. I also like the idea that they are helping women earn a living.

I got two skirts for a birthday present for myself. I hoped I made "great decision" as they emailed me. The joy when I grabbed my parcel soon turned into great disappointment. I could see that the fabric that was used for one of them was much loved - probably too much loved to be reused as a skirt. I could see holes here and there. Also, the sewing quality was poor. It has distinct odor too, but I am afraid to wash it because the skirt might be ripped during the wash.
