As a new member of Christian Cafe I have been blessed to meet many people. Unfortunately I am currently unable to provide any reviews about dating as I am still new to this website. I wish everyone who decides to become a member all the best.
Not many on this site. It is inefficient and frustrating to search as it keeps showing those I have already viewed, doesn't list the message content with a profile, won't search by absolute distance on it's own (listing closer and newer matches.) It does not list closer and newer matches.
There are very limited matches in my area. Pay is ridiculously expensive. And the staff sends you a message to trick you into thinking you might have a message from another user to get you to log back in and pay

Generally, I think the Christian Cafe is a good site - I think those who post profiles tend to be genuine Christians. My complaint is that they automatically sign you up for auto-renewal payments without telling you. It is also not shown when you look at your settings - and it is very hard to find on their web site. This is supposedly a "Christian owned" company. Even secular web sites where I have an account plainly show whether I have auto-renewal for payments. I think the Christian Cafe is being purposefully sneaky about trying to take more money from you - BAD - VERY BAD!

Thank you for your kind words about us being a good site and having genuine Christians. We're sorry for your upset about how our renewal system works. We would never renew you without telling you about it. That would be illegal, not to mention unethical. We are Christian owned and operated, and to do anything less wouldn't be befitting of a Christian service.
Our service is unlike any other dating website, in that we offer all newcomers a 10-day free trial, where they can search, browse, contact other members, and receive mail, during their trial (7 days for your profile and 3 more for posting your photo). After this, if they find value in what we offer, they can sign up for a membership.
Our service is subscription-based, the same as signing up for any online service, dating or otherwise (or offline services such as a gym membership, mobile phone service, magazine subscription, etc.). It continues until you cancel it (which you can do at any time).
We inform you of this not only on your membership page. It is also explained in multiple places, so that there can be no doubt about it and how it works.
Before we go into detail about that, let us first say that our purpose is for our members to connect romantically, not to have any upset over how our membership works! We really want to help you connect:-) You didn't tell us your username, but if you provide it to us, we'll give you 2 weeks free time, so that the above becomes water under the bridge:-) The email address to ask for this is at the bottom of our response.
Here are the places on our website about our membership process:
1). It is clearly explained during the initial sign-up process on your membership page, in regular size font, right below where you entered your credit card information:
"By placing your order on the next page you agree to the Terms and Conditions and understand and agree that your credit / debit card will be charged $xx. Xx USD each renewal period until you decide to cancel, at any time, via your contacts page under the help menu."
2). The above paragraph includes a link to The "Terms and Conditions" page, which goes into greater detail about how the subscription service works.
3). It is referenced in the "Thank you for supporting ChristianCafe.com!" message we send to your mailbox, where it says, "You can check your renewal date at any time by going to the membership page."
4). It is explained in detail on the site itself in the "Help section", under "Membership" (Help > Membership).
5). You can control by turning off the automatic renewal process, which is explained in the Help section (Help > Membership > Does ChristianCafe.com have automatic renewals for payments? > change your renewal status).
Again, we're sorry for your experience. However, while we go "above and beyond" in explaining clearly how the system works, we cannot force you to read what we write:-(

Start out by saying I was frustrated with this site as I had a billing issue regarding the auto renewal program they use. It overdrew my account one night even when I thought I canceled it a few weeks prior. I emailed management and they gave me back the money that was taken out of the account. I was very, very happy. It was the right thing to do. The women I talked to on that site were very nice and totally Christian. I enjoyed speaking to them who lived from around the country. I would totally recommend this site to young men who are looking for that special kind of woman, and who also may not have the dating skills you think you would need to make one like you, as you can make yourself more desirable by practicing on women who are your type, yet won't have to go through the embarrassment of getting shutdown over the internet. Well time will tell as so new on here and i havent viewed men in my region much atall as im in bancroft ont most are farther away living but god willing new persons will show up closer in my immediate vicinity,
I started my membership well. Unfortunately, when I renewed my membership, I noticed it's been slow in getting matches. Apparently, I noticed the pictures of the matches have been the same. I am sorry to say that I am not happy that I renewed my subscription. I hope I am wrong.
So far I noticed that there are more decent Christians matches in this dating site compare to other dating site. I commend how the staff of ChristianCafe screen the matches to avoid scammers. Thank you for your promotions.
I'm not receiving the replies I expect from the so called Christian women on this Christian dating site that you placed in my search groups. I don't particularly like being contacted by Christian women that aren't in my search groups. It's not that I don't love them, it's that they're not in my preferred height range and/or from a foreign Country. I would like to stay anonymous because I know exactly what I'm seeking and most of them are in my search groups and that's all I want to deal with.
It really hasn't been a good one but not because of your website. The Christian women that are educated from a secular or worldly institution don't seem to know how to relate to me as a fellow born again, John 3:3, We are even suppose to love even our enemies, Matt 5:44; how much more the Brethren? Of course, that's why I see the same faces on this site and it's sad for them. We shouldn't expect our Lord GODS' Favor and blessings if we don't live by HIS WORDS.

No one is near me or answers mail despite distance. Recommended matches are ridiculous. No commonality whatsoever.
There are dozens of matches in your search, however you have barely viewed any of them. Additionally, you haven't sent much mail, so there are definitely things you can do to improve your chances of connecting with others.
It's important to stay active on the site and not just 'sit and wait' - everyone is waiting to receive mail, so no one will be surprised if you write first:)

I have only had the membership for a few days. I hesitated joining because it's expensive and the discount of $5.00 is a poor discount. I am paying in u.s. dollars. I have no intentions of moving out of my City at my age, when my family that I have left lives nearby and we need each other. However, I thought I would take a chance and see if there would be an interest in someone within my area. There is one gentleman that I felt I would really like to connect with and see that he had viewed my profile but was last on line Dec 6 I believe it was. I have tried sending messages but because he is not a paying member it seems useless and hopeless. Some sites allow you to pay a little extra and you can send someone who is not a member an email and they are allowed to respond. It's like a game on this site. Maybe you could make some improvements in that area so that people do have hope of connecting with someone they are interested in. Not just hope that before your time runs out that- that person gets a membership. Remember, it shouldn't be all about disappointments and luck if that person is not a member.

It is a little tricky to navigate through and understand your website. Many older member will have problems to get through the maize.

I would like the option to delete the highlighted members you have selected for me. I breeze by that page because it is not relevant without options or updates. I do not like the location options, its much to rigid. I would like to meet Christian men in my state, not my region and certainly not around the world. I feel like it is forced upon me and the search option is much much to broad and irrelevant. I get tired scrolling through the entire list and log out after a few scrolls. Its not easy on the eyes and a bit frustrating. That should be my option not yours. I do not want to see profile with no photos, those profiles should be removed from option to view until they post a photo. Please be selective about the profile photos. Some of not very good shots with many people in the photo, I do not know who I am talking to. I appreciate the fast customer service and quick answers to my set up and concerns. I believe this app has alot of potential is the distance option can be fixed. Thank you for the opportunity to provide you my feedback.

Sorry to hear you've not had as many responses as you'd like. You can't control who decides to write to you, however you can increase your chances of connecting by doing a few things:
1) Post your photos. You're primarily writing women with photos, so we trust you can see the importance of having photos on your profile. If you need our help with this please email your photos to us and we'll post them for you.
2) Ensure you respond to the many women who have written to you. It's important to ensure you respond, even if you don't see yourself as a match.
3) Keep writing to more women who interest you. Not everyone will respond favourably but some will. It's these women you want to connect with! And you only need one Special Match, right? :)
