I used the site after we decided to sell our cabin and boat last fall. Their broad reach of boat listings far exceeded anything I could have done on my own. They managed the ad by keeping at fresh and we were able to sell our boat the first day it came out of storage this Spring. Painless and rewarding, thank you.
Called me at 10pm at night and wouldn't take no thanks for an answer, also wouldn't provide a name except "Larry" or a call back number. Did a little digging and found that boatsfsbo is a little fishy and conducting some fishy business. I would strongly suggest doing your research before handing this company $299 dollars.
I posted my boat on Craigslist and soon got the robot email others have mentioned. It pointed at their website and indicate that the sender, Ramsey Lewis (yeah right!), had used them with success. I filled out the form at the website and submitted it and got a notice that someone would call to get pictures. Soon Howard called to tell me how it works. He was very aggressive in getting my payment ($299) for the ad. I told him I would think about it. He called the next day and I told him I would pass on it. When I told him why, he started in on ME. He was abusive and argumentative about everything I would say and in a demeaning way. He finally said OK and hung up. I would never deal with a company that used such an in-your-face salesperson.
I listed my boat myself on craigslist with limited success. I got an email in response to my craiglist post suggesting that I list it with BoatsFSBO, so I submitted my information on their web site. I was a little hesitant about paying the fee they charged for listing it, but the results were well worth it. I began receiving calls and text messages that evening and sold my boat within 5 days of listing it with them. All I had to do was submit a write-up on the boat and they took care of everything else. They even uploaded the pictures from my craigslist posting to the other sites. They made selling my boat much easier.
Easy to set up the ad and even easier and more convenient to sell my boat. I received more responses to the FSOB ad and actual people that showed up to see and sea trial the boat then I did on Facebook using the same boat info!
Quick and simple posting. Sold to out of state buyer same season as listed. Thank you. The cost was minimal for the sale.
I was contacted by BoatsFSBO because I had my boat listed on Craigslist. I certain am old enough to know that nothing is "free." But JUST SAY IT!
Look at the very friendly and personal email I got from this anonymous person acting as if they are my best friend! I hate this kinda stuff!

Hello- you may want to put the boat on here also- it is how i sold mine- great site- no commission- buyers call you directly and you keep one hundred percent of what you get for it- can't beat it this will take you to where you put your ad on
There was no mention of the cost to list your boat on the website. There were inferences that it was free. I spent time listing my ad, and pressed enter, and all I got was a thank you message. There was nowhere to upload photos. I wanted to go back to my listing and add photos, but there was no way to access the listing. Then it dawned on me that I would be getting a call later by someone trying to sell me ad space. Sure enough the next morning I got a call. When I told the agent that I didn't want to list because of the non transparency of the website. He just hung up on me... After google searching the most popular sites to use to sell a boat, this site wasn't listed anyway, so I'm glad I had second thoughts.
When selling a boat you have a short window of time to sell. I am glad that I participated in BFSBO. My boat sold in about 7-8 weeks. The new owners still have about 10 weeks of boating.

Worked as advertised. Howard was clear in what he could do to help and how the listing would work. Had several calls within a week and sold our boat within 2 weeks for a fair price. Pleased with the service and Howard's communication. For us, well worth the money!
Howard made the posting very easy and I am very happy to sell our boat to another
Man who will enjoy it as much as we did.
Very happy -all was as promised- have already recommended them to other people- the man helped me price the boat and i think that was very important- if the boat is fairly priced it will sell on there
Signed up in September 2017, only one call from a scammer! The cost was $300 and the rep said that he would be with us until it sold! No response or contact since! Cant even find my listing!
Second boat i have sold on here- very good - not sure about some of the people not selling on there perhaps they overpriced their boats-
They claim they're free--then comes the call with the schmoozy guy saying 'of course you know nothing's entirely free'
My boat has been listed for many months... the only response I ever got was from a scammer. I feel like I wasted my money here.
I listed my boat for sale about five years ago, I have not received one phone call. I was told they changed servers during that time my boat dropped off. How long I don't know. When I caught the error I called them and they put me back on the site. This time I was so far down no one could find me. They gave me a solution I could give them more money and feature the boat. It's time to go back to craigslist. David
Howard communicated well, explained how his service worked and what he needed from from me. I just emailed him pix of my boat and my ad text. Howard then quickly did what he said he would do -- listed my boat on several sites, then sent links to my listing as evidence. When I had questions, he responded quickly by email.
My '70s vintage sailboat sold the first week. Before listing on BoatsFSBO, I spent weeks on Craigslist and received the typical inquiries who led off by asking for a demo ride and how little I'd take. Howard explained that his service typically attracts higher-quality, experienced, serious buyers, and that turned out to be true for me.
Answer: I called the 800 number and they removed it the next day
