Been a long-time user. When I did have a problem, I couldn't get a hold of a human. Wasted a lot of time on hold before giving up. Cost me thousands$$ Business is about customer service. Answer your phones and SERVE your loyal customers!
We have been using them for one month, Now they are holding our money in their account while they check charges from customers we have had for 15 plus years. We had to go back to our old company, And If they dont release my comapanys money soon I am going to be taking them to court. They are a terrible company.
This is the most disturbing thing that could happen in the e-commerce environment. These questions all the foundation of the e-comm industry at levels that everyone should be revising what is happening with all the transactions that are going between Authorized.net and Shopify.
We have got 314 operations that Authorized.net flagged as potential fraud and needed attention from our end, (of course we did not review then on time) the transactions went from FRAUD risk to a new EXPIRED status. So far, we understand this regular process, but here comes the X-FILE, all 314 transactions that were EXPIRED arrived at Shopify as approved (at least this is what Shopify is stating), and the result of that was the system and the 3PL shipped the 314 orders in value of approximately 52.000 American dollars.
Right now, after a few weeks of being pushed between these 2 monsters, saying that it's impossible this to happen, we are getting ZERO solution and being requested to provide tech info from each other day after day and week after week.
If we can't longer relay on the transactions that we are getting from this billions of dollar companies, that their job is to guaranty that the transactions are getting paid and fulfilled, what is left?
I challenge and ask for all of you to check on our transactions, I cannot believe that we are the only company in the globe facing this crazy anomaly in the system.
Enjoy you day and I will start building a collective case.
Please contact me if you have got the same issue!
This website sucks. They share your personal information without your consent or knowledge. Third party will then go into your bank account and take funds out. When you cancel they will continue to take money out of your account as if they have a right. When you confront them they quote some invisible clause that gives them the right to do this long after you've closed the account. I plan to sue! But to the rest of you. My advice is to AVOID THEM... AVOID... AVOID. They are theives and have no shame! That's IPayment Inc. out of Thousand Oaks CA
Terrible to say the least, got charged $29 to reopen an account which was outdated and would not work, opened a new account with them, which did work, but they reported us to a credit bureau for 5cents!
We also had to pay the $29 for an account which we where unable to use and only had for 2 weeks!
I signed up with them for a $14 monthly for online and card reader service, first month they charged me double, I called them, they said it was because of the card reader service which cost extra. I canceled it so they could charge me only $14 monthly for online processing only. They kept charging me extra monthly which no one ever told me another company was going to charge me for using their services. I called them to cancel and I did cancel, and they still try to charge my account again. It is already hard to run a small business, and companies like them try t rip you off like many other one do. If you can change your Busines mechandiss, please do.
I am a business owner, I started with PayPal, Stripe, Square, ProPay, etc.
Authorize.Net is probably the only credit card processor around with full customer support, 24-7. You speak with real people. You don't speak to a computer or you don't need to send thousand of emails in order to get an answer, you speak with real people/ real customer support 24-7. You don't find this support anywhere else.
These idiots charges you upfront for a payment gateway then they send you bunch of affiliate links to merchant accounts so even if you get denied they still charge for you for the gateway lmao they are bunch of scammers and losers.
I hate this company! I couldn't get into my account because i needed to change my password and couldn't get it to work, so I called customer service and could not get a live person because the prompt told me to entire my merchant profile id, which i couldn't do because i couldn't get into my account to retrieve it. After going in circles, I finally called as a new customer and got a live person, who then told me he couldn't help me because i was an existing customer. I begged him to find a customer support person to help me reset my account so I could get into my account. I need to change processors today
They are the worst. I applied for a merchant account and gateway. I get an approval email a short time later. Turns it out was only for the gateway and nobody has a record of the merchant account. I called my "sales rep" who never called me back and insisted per her voicemail message that she only accepts emails. So I email her, and get no response - until the 3rd try. This place is the worst.
Horrible company! I stopped using the service and they restarted it up withought my permission and started taking funds withought my permission and said not their problem. Fill out a form req it be stop. Absolutely unacceptable. I will be filing claims with consumer board and atty generals office.
I have been in business for over 7 year and have never dealt with a company so corrupt and dishonest like Authorize.net. I opened an account with them and they approved the account after making several transactions. I received an email from them saying that my merchants account will be closed with absolutely no explanation. I requested in writing the reason for why the account is being closed and they couldn't even give me a reason. They said all funds may remain on hold for up to 120 days from the last processing date. This corrupt company wants to keep my customers money and not refund them back. We requested a refund to our customer and this company also denied to do that. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE SCAMMERS.
Authorize.net markets itself a full merchant service and makes non-experienced business owners pay the 'reversible' setup fee. This might be there business model.
Stay away!
TERRIBLE COMPANY!
They have been charging our account almost $40/month for 2 years without any rhyme or reason.
When asked they wont disclose anything but keep charging the account.
DO THIS:
- File complaint with FTC, Attorney General
- Dispute charges with your Bank
- Post Reviews
Hit these scammers where it hurts.
STAY AWAY FROM FRAUD AUTHORIZE.NET!
I previously entered a 1 star review for this company, but wanted to come back and change this after they resolved my situation. To avoid too many details, there was a payment processing error and was calling to obtain a refund. Apparently, I called "Evo Payments" who handles some of their payment processing. They are who the "1 star" review should be given. They are the WORST company I have ever done business with. If they continue to do business this way, they will not be in business very long. The last representative I spoke with at Evo actually new what he was doing and forwarded me to Authorize.net customer service. These guys were excellent, and were able to handle my query in a matter of seconds. They also provided me with their contact info so I can contact them directly instead of going through the "Evo Payment" customer service line. Thanks again Authorize for making this so helpful! You guys may want to do business with a company other than Evo they are absolutely terrible, and probably a reason for so many negative reviews.
I was contacted by an authorize.net company for merchant services. It looked good. By the time they added all the hidden fees it wasn't so good. I contacted the company to close my account. Because I was so new they would not let me close my account with out filling out some paperwork. I did and needless to say my account is still open still charging me. Thanks to this repetitive scam I knew enough to close down the bank account! This is not my first run in. I had a 3rd party keep a $1,000 transaction because they felt like it. No matter what I did they wouldnt release it. Asking for signed salles slips for an e commerce transaction. Authorize did nothing to help me.
They have no oversight to these 3rd party companies they do business with
Avoid at all cost.
Paypal is a little more but is trusted by more and has less problems by far
Authorize.net has HORRIBLE customer service! I signed up on July, and cancelled my account with them right the next day. They told me everything was fine, and that the cancellation was approved and nothing will be charged. A month after (August) I see a $99 set up fee charge on my debit card. When I called to have them return my money, they said I needed to contact my account manager "Mike" so he can refund me that money back to my account. I called him for weeks and weeks, left many many messages/voice mails, and he NEVER called me back nor emailed me. Every time I called no one was helpful, until finally a month and 10 days after (September), a manager picks up the phone and transfers me to Mike, and supposedly that money will be back in my account, but I have to wait 10 business days to get it back. So I have had to deal with this headache for two months now, and still no money back. DO NOT USE THEM! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SERVICE!
I have been using Authorize.net for my E-commerce needs (CyberSource is the main company) for about 12 years now. The rates are competitive, and I've had no customer service issues whatsoever. Their client website is well constructed, and includes ALL of the real-time reporting you would ever need about your transactions including a virtual terminal for manual processing of off-line transactions. Complete e-mail merchant receipts and batching, never missed a beat with them. I would recommend that you contract a GOOD web-tech who can handle the installation of the Gateway software. Ultimately you should build your own interface. My only critique would be their payment processing screen which can be a little finicky. If the consumer doesn't absolutely complete all the fields and enter the 'security' letters precisely as show (case sensitive) the transactions don't go through.
Overall I give it a good rating and recommend them for your e-commerce merchant processing if you're shopping for a new company or better rates.
Authorize set me up an account with the processor EVO International Payments, which I was totally unaware of. Then I had to go through a NIGHTMARE of a process with PCI compliance (so technically advanced that even computer experts were having trouble even comprehending the questions required to get through it), getting any help whatsoever, and then trying to close my accountS when I ultimately switched to Stripe. Now because of the ridiculous 60-day-notice requirement with EVO I'll be paying two more months on an account I didn't set up and didn't want and didn't approve. This really feels like I was scammed and I would recommend avoiding Authorize and their shady business practices and partners.
**CAUTION** They lure you in with a low processing fee per transaction, and then they HAMMER you with fee after fee after fee.
PLUS, if you are using Droid phones, they "have to set up two accounts"... Ie; they charge you DOUBLE for one service!
Don't forget the $99.00 annual report fee (per account of course) so they can send the IRS a 1099 report. This report is mandated by law, and they are not allowed to charge for it. Formal complaint has been filed with Missouri Attorney Generals office.
I never go on these sites and publish complaints as I always find a reasonable compromise. This outfit doesn't understand compromise, and don't bother asking for a "supervisor" because the're never available and they won't call you back.
I'm going on two months with their greedy little fingers still in my account taking fees out- and I have account cancellation confirmations that are a month old. Had to go to my bank office to get it stopped.
Found a processor who truly has no fees other than when you run the cards, and for the same rates.
Hope I saved you some grief
Answer: I think they are a scam! I filled out an application didn't get ANY service from them as they said I needed an ITIN (I'm Canadian) then proceeded to take money out of my account for 10 months before I noticed UGH! I cancelled payments now they have sent to collections WTF! Do NOT use them they are scammers!
Answer: Stay away from these crooks they will rob you.
