I use collect in store many times per month, never had any troubles and probably wait around 5 mins on average each visit.

ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
September 25, 2020

ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE! My daughter ordered a desk from Argos. When it was delivered, only one of three parts arrived. As the other two parts could not be found, the part was uplifted and she was refunded. We ordered another one on her behalf online on Thursday 17th September and we're due to collect it on Wednesday 23rd September from Dunfermline. Dunfermline called on Saturday 19th September to say that the desk we had on order was not complete but a new one could be sourced for pick up today Friday 25th September from 9am. I received no text to say the desk was ready for collection today so I called. My order had been cancelled but I had received no notification of this. The gentleman said that this was probably because there was no contact details attached to the order! How had Dunfermline managed to call me then? The first order which they cancelled was also made through my Argos account! The desk meantime is only in stock somewhere over 400 miles from our location (I believe that to be Canterbury) and from the information gleaned from the gentleman I spoke to, the desk is not due back in stock until 15th January. We're there/are there actually any COMPLETE desks available? Well there might have been at some point as my other daughter has one in Gloucester. Could that be the only one in the whole of the UK?!?

Scammers
August 18, 2022

Been living in our front room due to building work the last 14 weeks but needed a cot set for our newborn.

Couldn't put it up for two months due to the building work, just found out that the mattress is too small (still in wrapper). Spent over £1000 with Argos in this order so thought they wouldn't mind an exchange, but nope!

The online agent promised a management call back which didn't happen. Called today, kept on hold for 30 minutes while the team leader did anything they could to not take the call.

Eventually 'Paul' took the phone (said no one would have called me back because it was outside the 30 days and stuttered when I asked why his advisor said that one would and I would hope that a management call back is the very very basic backbone of any half decent business) but couldn't wrap his head around the issue. Have to be honest the call in question would be comical to listen too

Asked for escalation process and his full name, which he refused to give (not sure what he thought I was going to do with it). It wouldn't actually surprise me if he lied about it.

Never ever going to buy here again, awful company! I remember when I was younger they even got banned from having work experience students because they just used them for slave labour.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere that at least give some better customer service like a slap round the face every time you buy something.

Update in regards to their comment: If they valued their customer and had an ounce of compassion or business sense, they'd realise how stupid they are. What makes this van worse is that they do this all the time! Check out your local FB and you'll see so many people they've mugged off! BOYCOT ARGOS

Poor customer service
August 19, 2018

I would not give them and stars if I didn't have to
Argos customer service is a joke the are ignorant and arrogant and tell lies
I asked for an online order to be cancelled only to be told by the time they do called read my email that it was ready to be dispatched do wouldn't cancel it even though I emailed them with 5 mins of placing the order as couldn't get through on the customer service line as was in the evening
I asked them to stop the dispatch to be told no I had to refuse the delivery when it came but with previous experience with couriers they just leave the item anyway and as I'm not going to be home and I live next to a public footpath items are not secure
I then got a message to say the item had already been dispatched before they read my email so basically sonebody was telling lies.
Anyway after lots of emails to them and getting the same answer they can't stop a delivery even if it hasn't been dispatched I am making people aware of their very poor customer service
Obviously another big company that only see ££££ signs

Back in March I placed an order for a printer and it arrived on the day it was due. From the start the printer has been nothing but trouble with terrible quality streaky, patchy and washed out prints. Then after a handful of unusable prints it says "Low on ink" so i just presumed it must be faulty as my Sister has the exact same printer and says how brilliant it is.

I have VERY bad anxiety so i never use the phone and always prefer to email. There is NO contact email address on the Argos website which seems ludicrous to me in this day and age. But with some searching i managed to find an email address so i contact them there.
I get a reply saying before they can look into my order they need me to confirm my full address to which i reply straight away. Then exactly 30 days later they finally reply and tell me to get in touch with the manufacturer of the printer. I find it convenient that they reply exactly 30 days later so that i fall outside of their 30 day return window.
As i say i have VERY bad anxiety and never use the phone so to have to contact another company is just too much for me. I haven't even left my house for 20 years so that gives you an idea of how serious my "Issues" are.

So i am now stuck with a printer that does not function properly. The printer was packed up into the original packaging and put in our spare room shortly after it arrived as it is not fit for purpose.

I have since emailed Argos countless times and have not had one reply. And looking at all their other reviews it seems i am not the only person to have been ripped off by them. It's bad enough for people who don't have any issues to lose their money but for people with Mental Health issues like myself it makes things So much harder! It seems Argos do not care about that as long as they have your money they do not give a damn about what happens to your item.

How can a HUGE company like Argos be allowed to send customers faulty products and then simply do nothing about it when the customer informs them?

I know that it is a very difficult time that we are all living in right now but i placed my order back in March. If Argos could arrange a collection i do not mind at all. All i want it my money back.

And obviously i will NEVER be shopping with Argos ever again. They could take a tip from Amazon as their returns process is simple and hassle free.
