Very poor return experience

Purchased an Apple Watch Ultra from Argos, as I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for it to come from Apple (huge mistake, I should've waited).

Once received, I realised the watch was way too big for my wrist, and wanted to return it. Mind you the device was just tried on, with all the accessories and original packaging.

Went to Argos at Crown Point in Leeds to return it, but to my surprise my return was refused, due to the item being unsealed. The lady who I dealt with was pronouncing resealable, resalable, and when I realised this, I decided to submit my return request online and have the item collected.

I've been told to wait in my office until 9 in the evening, but the item wasn't collected.

Called on Saturday to re-arrange a collection, Monday I've waited in my office until 7 in the evening, the driver, again, did not come to collect the package.

After 6 calls with Argos customer service, 3 live chat interactions, 2 store visits, I am still waiting for the item to be collected.

If you were in my shoes, would you ever buy from Argos ever again? I don't think so.

A complaint will be filed with trading standards for not accepting the return for an item that was in line with their return requirements. I am running a small e-commerce company, and we accept unsealed items for return, but apparently, Argos does not.

Shame on you Argos!

Scammer! DONT USE THIS BRAND!

I ordered an table with 4 chairs, after I lost over 3 hours assembling the item I realise that The last chair front leg of the item was damaged I call costumer service on *******2020 and they LIE that they don't have this item in stock to order or delivery even when I explain I can see order it online and receive it same day delivery they say that they don't have it on stock but they can offer me £10 gift card in order to keep the broken chair keep in mind the item cost is £200 after I tell them that is not an option at all as is not a minor issue like a scratch or something and is a major damage that make the item unusable they say that they can rearrange collection but I need to disassemble the item put it on the original package and then I will receive the refund with in 30 days do I lost 3 hours in assembling and now I will start disassemble and I will receive my money back in 30 days eventually as I can see several comments that people waiting for months and months for refund and don't receive it so the greedy owners can keep the interest or work with peoples money by sending out broken items that they know you will have to return or trash clearly a scam! Definitely that was the last time I ever gonna purchase anything from Argos the customer experience have become the worst thing ever since this brand has been both by Sainsbury!

We ordered a Bosch dishwasher online which Argos failed to deliver - not just once but twice. The first time the driver called to say he was on his way and asked which floor our flat was on. I told him the 4th floor, then oddly enough 5 minutes later he called back to say he couldn't find a parking space and we would have to reschedule. I looked out the window and advised I could actually see parking spaces round the corner but he said it was too late and he had already left the area! I had to then phone Argos (no-one called me) to reschedule. I got another date for 6 days later but no-one turned up again - this time we didn't even get a phone call from the driver. On both occasions we had were given a 12 hour delivery window - 7am - 7pm and had to wait in for 12 hours each time. After the second failure I had to call Argos to find out what was happening - no explanation was given for the second failure to deliver so I cancelled and asked for a refund which I finally received 10 days later. At no point in any of this did anyone from Argos either phone or email me to apologise. In the end I did what I should have done in the first place - I went to a local supplier who gave me a 6 hour delivery window and delivered several days later. The people I dealt with were friendly and helpful - the exact opposite of my dealings with Argos. This was my first and last purchase with Argos. In future I'll stick to local suppliers who understand what good customer service actually means.

Always find this site easy to use.

Easy to check if an item is in stock, easy process to reserve at a store of your choice.

No problem to return an item for refund for any reason. Great.

AVOID ARGOS - Ordered a promotional set of Beats…
UPDATE 05/12/23: So after being told to contact Argos customer care I was provided this response which still leaves me with no information on where my order is! POOR SERVICE, DO NOT USE ARGOS FOR CLICK AND COLLECT. "A manager would not be able to give you any different information Arvin than I have given. They have no access to when your order will be delivered as I do not have access either."

Originally Posted 04/12/23 -Ordered a promotional set of Beats Headphones for £99 on the 19th of November 2023.

I was sent an email saying they would arrive in store by 22nd November by 9 am, I went to the store in Edgware to collect and was told they did not have my order. I didn't get any SMS or email to say my order was ready either.

Fast forward we are now at the 4th of December 2023 and still have no headphones and customer care has no idea when my item will be ready to collect.

14 days have elapsed and I still don't have the headphones I ordered online!

All I want is the headphones I had ordered as this was a gift for a 13-year-old child who has been patiently waiting for them.

I guess that it will be the new year before I even get a reply or response back from Argos about my purchase or when I can collect it.

I would avoid Argos based on this experience!

I bought phone and the carrier (Parcelforce) send me message with option to deliver to collection point so I select one and they still try to deliver the parcel to my house 2x time so then I fill form on they website to leave the parcel at post office but again they deliver to my house when I contact the customer service they could not help my no apologies nothing I should have the order 3 days ago but still cant resolve simple issue other carriers levae the parcel with my neighbor but not parcelforce or even at collection point and Argos could not help my and told me that they contact the supplier and they will be it touch with me but I did not bought the phone from they supplier but from them what a joke. This was my last time I bough something from them

Terrible experience
August 9, 2021

Just had to send this is to Trust Pilot after a very upsetting afternoon. I bought a featherlight hoover for my mums birthday last Saturday. When we got it home, we set it up and tried it out. My 77 year old mum couldn't push it. My son in law also couldn't push it. You could lift it and hoover backwards but what good is that. I returned it to Argos White Rose Centre today and was told as I had used it, they couldn't do anything about it. We haven't used it, we tried it out and it didn't work on mums carpet. Apparently we should have known this before we bought it. My mum was crying, she has arthritis and I bought it as I thought she would be able to use it. I was asked to take the hoover away with me. I didn't as there was no point, it wouldn't work on my mums carpet. We are now £44.99 out of pocket. She doesn't have a hoover and she is very upset. The Store Manager wouldn't budge. We were left humiliated and upset. I told the Manager we were very disappointed and I would be writing a letter of complaint
I've also googled reviews and it advises, doesn't work on carpets, although in the description it doesn't advise of this

Worst service ever
April 9, 2022

Hi all, I purchased 6 roller blinds for home delivery, a time was set, 5 blinds turned up, I received an email stating all 6 had been delivered by Yodel (not the best delivery company), I contacted Argos who told me the delivery had been split and I will get it later between 1pm to 3pm. I attempted to fit the other 5 blinds and found one of them bent, so I had to contact them again for a replacement (can't get one for two days). About 6pm I contacted Argos AGAIN as the blind still hadn't turned up, I was told delivery could be up to 9pm, sad to say it still hasn't arrived. I will not be dealing with Argos again, awful experience and still has not been resolved, gat a grip Argos.

AVOID ARGOS if there is any likelihood of you needing to return an item if FAULTY. The Lancaster store insists they only offer credit notes to be used in Argos for faulty returns. This I refuse as I will never shop in Argos again.

Argos is operating outside the law as it is contrary to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 which states "Goods should be of a satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described"
My purchase was inherently faulty and confirmed by Flymo and their Service centre.
I have had only Flymo all my life [80 next year] and the 2021 model 360 has design faults, it is unbelievably noisy and has almost no suction to but the cut grass in its box. I tried two.
On the phone, Argos says You can return for a refund to the method you made the purchase, but in-store they deny it and offer a credit note.
Two weeks ago I returned the item, have made at least 13 phone calls and written by Royal Mail Signed For service. NO RESPONSE.
Argos call centre offers to return calls when speaking to them but never does. You will wait in for nothing.
NO REFUND. So ignore the Refund question below

Now I have referred it to solicitors. I don't need this at 80 next year

It's a nightmare dealing with Argos.
I wish I'd looked at the Trustpilot reviews and see they have 85% as BAD, only one Not even worth one!
GO elsewhere and forget the convenience of being in Sainsbury's

Disgusting and incompetent
ZERO STARS INCOMPETENT BILSTON ARGOS. Awful time at argos today(15/08/20), went to collect 6 items all paid for online using FT, once receiving my items i left the store and stood outside for 5-10 minutes sorting my shopping out, then the staff member who served me and dealt with my order ran outside snatched the item out of my shopping trolley told me i can't just take things mumbled something to her colleague and went back in store, then her colleague asked why i was standing outside the store and i said waiting for my item that she has just snatched. It turns out the staff member (small, young blonde hair) gave me another customers item and I get accused of stealing. I had ordered a curtain rail and the other customer had ordered a curtain rail. After going back in store in turns out they are 2 very incompetent women who couldn't find my curtain rail. Absolutely disgusting, what a coward she can't admit her screw up so accuses customers of theft, and to top it all off the customer accused me of stealing her item. Avoid Bilston argos like it was riddled with covid 19. The staff there are incompetent. We should be able to give zero stars when it deserves zero stars

DONT ORDER XMAS GIFTS FROM ARGOS

DO NOT ORDER YOUR CHTRISTMAS GIFTS FROM ARGOS. THEY ARE UNABLE TO DELIVER THEM. I PLACED AN ORDER ON THE 18TH FOR DELIVERY ON THE 19TH DECEMBER, I HAVE STAYED IN ALL DAY AND THE ORDER HAS NOT ARRIVED. HAVING CALLED ARGOS THEY CANT CONFIRM WHY IT WASNT DELIVERED (BLAMED THE SNOW BUT THERE IS NONE AS IT ALL MELTED YESTERDAY, ITS 13 DEGREES OUTSIDE!) OR GUARANTEE WHEN IT WILL BE REDELIVERED. THEY THEN PLACED ME ON HOLD FOR 25 MINUTES WHILE THEY WENT TO FIND OUT BUT NEVER RETURNED AND JUST ENDED THE CALL. I DONT KNOW IF I WILL GET IT IN TIME FOR CHRISTMAS AND HAVE PRECIOUS LTTLE TIME TO REORDER. THE SUPPORT STAFF MEMBER I SPOKE TO WAS EXTREMELY APATHETIC AND CLEARLY DID NOT CARE ABOUT ARGOS CUSTMERS AT ALL, OBVIOUSLY PLACED ME ON HOLD THEN HUNG UP ON ME INTNETIONALLY. FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE ALL ROUND. I WILL PAY £10 MORE AND ORDER FROM JOHN LEWIS NEXT TIME.
