I love Altra shoes. They are wider in the front but still narrow in the back, which is totally what I need. I own their Superior and just purchased the Solstice. Their website is easy to use, and their people on the phone are knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks, Altra, for an awesome experience!
I just started a second career as a high school teacher and was getting a painful case of planter fasciitis. My chiropractor recommended your shoes and they (along with lots of rolling and stretching) have saved me. My students even think they are cool.:-)

Wonderful product! My husband is on his feet every day for work and has issues with his feet and could not sing enough praises about these shoes and encouraged me to get a pair. So I did and cannot wait to get them; then I ordered him another pair just to surpirse him!
About 5 years ago I ordered and received a pair of Altra "Adam" shoes. They fit and were so comfortable that I ordered a second pair after I wore the first pair in the ocean. I figured i would never get the smell out so I used that first pair and used the second pair as "driving" shoes. Then I washed the originals. Now, I am still wearing both pair but I need to get new replacements. Any chance that model will be offered again?
I decided to try a new style that I hadnt bought before and was disappointed to find the sizing to be surprisingly smaller than expected. It is so narrow in fact that I can barely get the shoe on my naked foot. I guess Ill be going back to the style I normally buy.

I'm impressed with forefoot design of shoe. It does not prevent the natural spreading of the foot with gait. The design does not squeeze the toes together like many other shoes. I'm looking forward to wearing this shoe.
I love ALTRA shoes mainly because there is a pair that fits every running occasion and every type of terrain! I definitely put each pair through its paces and most of the time I feel good about the volume of miles I can get out of each pair. So far I'm unable to find an ALTRA that I don't like.
I am now trying out the new DUO's and Vanish-R's for the little bit of road mileage I do. However, I am a trail runner by heart and the Superior 3.5's cant be beat!
Two features are mandatory for any shoe I buy: A wide toe box and zero drop (height difference) between the heel and forefoot. These features make a huge difference in positioning your body to run efficiently and with low impact. Altra is the only brand that builds this into every shoe they make. If I have one criticism, it's that you can tell they are a young company and their products aren't always as refined as other more seasoned companies. That being said, I have exclusively run in Altras for the last 3 years, and it is worth bearing with their experiments, because some of them have been revolutionary (like the One2.5).
Ordered my fourth pair of Altras. Changed to Torin due to the sale from Intuition yet knew extra cushioning would benefit me. Couldn't wait for my new shoes and when I got them and tried them on they are short! Same 9.5 as the others then saw some reviews on Amazon saying same thing :( I see a review on a great return policy. I will try to exchange them. Won't run/ walk in anything else.
I am hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in March. I am using the Altra Lone Peak 3.5 Limited Edition which is amazing! Great fit, love the toe box, and the zero drop feature with this shoe. Also am hiking with the Mens Lone Peak Mid Mesh 3.5 same shoe with a mid mesh support. Great company and amazing shoes. I will recommend to anyone who is looking for a good hiking or running shoe. I have tried other running shoes but wanted to go to the next level so did some research. The Altra Escalante was far and away the best rated shoe so decided to spend the extra money and glad I did. It is well worth the money for comfort and running experience. I highly recommend. The service was excellent as well.
I love altra. I love the running shoes (and the benefits... no more shin splints!). However as a broke college student, I try to prolong the life of my Altra sneakers as long as I can. I threw in the towel yesterday. I went on the website to order and bang there was a pair on sale for 60 dollars (would have been 110). That was a steal! I go to order them and they are out of stock of all colors and sizes. All I ask is that they take the idea off if it is out of stock. Or acknowledge on the homie screen temporarily unavailable
About two months ago a friend of mine recommended that I give the Altra running shoes a try. Since then I have acquired three different pairs of their shoes. The Lone Peak 3.5, Escalantes, and the Vail. All three of them are extremely comfortable to wear and seem to be holding up very well. Due to the amount of running and other activities that I do, over time I started to have issues with the compression of my toes. I eventually started wearing the Injinji toe socks which helped tremendously and continue to do so daily. Now that I have a sneaker for just about any activity, the added benefit of having more freedom at the front of the shoe has made every day much more comfortable!
It was such a quick process to find and purchase my shoes! Cant wait to receive them. I was originally going to purchase them through another provider but unfortunately they didnt carry my size. When I went on the website it was a quick shopping process.
I ordered the Lone Peak hiking boots online. I love my Torin running shoes, so took a confident chance on the hiking boots. I love them! I did order a half size bigger than my running shoe and even though I am a women - I order the men's shoes because I have a wide foot with big bunions. They shipped the boots promptly and I received them a week after I ordered them. Great service!
Their running shoes are the only shoes I have tried where my feet dont hurt, even after 13 miles! Their shoes have saved my running! Altra doesnt just have amazing running shoes, their shipping is quick too. Overall they are simply the best!
