Thought I had gotten a good deal on a bible. They advertised it, but apparently did not have it, received a refund from Paypal, but not receive any type of communication from this company, bad way of doing business.
People, do not buy from these people, I should of read the reviews first.
I have used WOB on a dew occasions and what can I say any books I have received have been first class whether they have been used or new. Def recommend the website. 9 times out of 10 you will find what you are looking for and if not straight away it will arrive. Everything from fiction to biographies to learning books

I ordered a "Like New" book on June 18. The book didn't arrive until July 13, and was in pretty bad shape with significantly bent front and back covers, writing inside, etc. I let Wob know, and was asked to send photos, which I did. On July 23 they replied that they would send me a new book of my choosing within 24 hours, because they claimed they had no copies of that book anymore (though, from what I can see, they did and still do). It's now August 17, and I never heard back after replying to that email, and I am not sure it will ever be resolved, even though two months have passed since I ordered.
Aside from all these issues, they seem to rely heavily on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to reply to customer service inquiries, often with irrelevant information, which left me feeling unheard and not helped.
Edit: Though they offered me a book, I eventually got an unexpected refund instead, on August 23. I added another star since I appreciate them trying to make good in the end.

Hi I was happy with the 3 books I bought recently but you failed to point out that I had mistakenly ordered the same title twice in hard and paper back.
I did email you but had no response. I have read one and am reading the second, as of course I only had two books to read as a result.

The book I ordered was delivered extremely promptly in good condition, despite being preloved. Prices are extremely competitive. The website is easy to manoeuvre too. I also recently received a CD I had looked for over a long time but found it at Wob. It was a brilliant price, it was in perfect condition and was delivered within a couple of days. I would highly recommend Wob not only for their efficiency and prices but also for the recycling aspect which can only be a very good thing for us all.

Unfortunately this is not the first time I've recieved a book which does not match what's being advertised.
I think your priority as the website to sell books should be to ensure the correct book is for sale. I'm particular about the edition and cover of the book I'm looking for and displaying a disclaimer in your ad is a cop out. (Book picture is for illustrative purposes only, actual binding, cover or edition may vary.) Please ensure your sellers advertise the correct cover image for the book they're selling.

I ordered two used books with CDs from the website. I wear specifically looking for ones with CDs, and the listings clearly stated that they included the CDs. I received one of the books and open it up, and the CDs have been torn out of the book. I tried to contact WOB through their online chat and only was able to "talk to" their automated help system. I was assured that I would get an email response in 24-48 hours, but after a week had heard nothing. I then reached out through their contact link and waited 3 more days, and still heard nothing. I reached out through their contact link once more and got no response. I have not received the second book yet, either. I am about to contact my credit card company for a charge back as well as the Better Business Bureau. There are so many good used books sites online, I would NEVER recommend this one.

1 book out of 4 delivered. As the tracking number for royal mail states delivered and according to WOB all 4 books were on the same tracking number I am having trouble getting this through to them. The chatbot is useless and customer services just say the order has been delivered

On the odd occasion you don't always receive the item you expect, however when this happened with Wob the customer service team go out of their way to find a satisfactory solution, something Wob should be proud of.

WOB have a great selection of books and It's my go to bookstore,I especially like their choice of books on Artists and have purchased many Tate exhibition books at a reduced price over the years.The service is fantastic as fast delivery and very well packaged.WOB was a great find for me many years ago and I love books so have added to my collection on music,Art books and the odd rare book I have found there.Great condition books at fabulous prices you really cannot go wrong.

I ordered a book listed as "in excellent condition" and "very good." It was packed poorly with no protection, and was visibly wet and moldy when it arrived. Tried contacting seller, received a reply that they were "no longer in business" but "thank you for your interest" (?) so I contacted Abe (site I purchased through) and filed a complaint. In the following days I received several emails from WorldOfBooks asking me to purchase another copy from them.
UPDATE: WOB resolved the problem--both reimbursed me AND sent me a replacement copy in good condition. I think my initial communications were handled by bots, and after I complained, real humans intervened and resolved the issue.

Forget it - they don't already your emails if you have a problem. Sent 4 emails got exact same answer back. Lost over $50.
Don't bother with them. They are in it fir the money only don't believe the garbage they are trying to sell you.
I have recently discovered World of Books and have already placed several orders. The books I have ordered that are listed as used have been in excellent condition. This is a great way to save money and buy books sustainably and I would highly recommend.

I read this book years ago and then misplaced it. Sent for copy from WOB. Was in immaculate condition so can now read it again. From ordering to delivery I cannot fault WOB. Their books are always extremely good value and I can always find what I want. Well done again WOB!
I now don't bother looking at other on-line book sites. For some time I have just used WOB and so far it has never let me down. I have just had good all-round results every time, excellent prices, delivery and quality. I would certainly complain if I had something to complain about! And I applaud the ethics behind WOB, everyone wins.

Ordered 2 books, parcel arrived with 1 book. It took a while and several emails, but the issue has now been resolved satisfactorily. Apart from this WOBble (sorry) they're still my favourite bookstore.

I love WOB. Love, looooove them. They always offer the cheapest prices, amazing quality and superfast delivery. I used many second hand booksellers in the past but now I try to source all my books with WOB, it is just easier, and I'm always happy with the purchase :) I bought a ton of books from them and only one had a defect. Which was rectified in such a quick and friendly way it only made me like them more :) I also love the fact they are saving books from landfill and want them to be read more than just once :) excellent!
