Took 4 months to receive 2 chairs—not coming from across the planet, coming from 2 states away. Now I realize they were sitting at a delivery hub for over 2 months, with NO notice to me. It would've been fine if they had originally estimated a 4 month delivery, or had kept me up to date in any way. Instead I had to keep following up, and I got the run-around every time. I ordered in September, and the original delivery window was mid-October. The delivery window got pushed back. Then pushed back again. And again, and again, while the chairs were sitting at a warehouse literally 10 minutes away. Finally they showed up 4.5 months later, with no notice. There was ZERO communication from the company the entire time. Every time I called customer service, they were just trying to get me off the phone, and flat out lied to me.
I can only think of one other time that I have had this bad of an experience with customer service.
I am in the same industry, so I am extremely patient. But, never have I had to be this tolerant of just down right rudeness.
I received someone else's package and never got my own. Should have been pretty simple.
I placed an order online in mid-November for two sets of plates to be delivered to my Mother. Only one set was sent. Upon emailing their customer service team, no response was given. I called the Williams Sonoma Canadian customer service team in mid December and was told that the missing item would be sent. The goods have not been received. Emailed the Customer Service again and no response has been given. I will now persevere but I shouldn't have to bother for such a simple error on an order. I have forwarded my concerns to the Better Business Bureau for British Columbia and will have to dispute the charges on my credit card.
My nephew wanted a knife set for his wedding and we went on line to buy it from his chosen site of Williams Sonoma. When we went to buy we saw they were charging $36.00 for shipping and handling for a $ 329.00 knife set. I am reasonably principled and for that reason we went to Amazon and bought the exact same knife set for the same price and had it shipped for free. ( no handling charge either)
PS: I never write negative reviews like this but this really pissed me off!
Ordered Item on 17th Nov. About 21-22 Nov got confirmation email that item was shipped. As of today (many phone calls and many email inquiries) - did not get my ordered item. Each time I check - they are showing different delivery date (they changed in about 10 times already). I finally called to get refund but very unpleasant, unprofessional and aggressive "customer service" lady informed me that now delivery is showing as "tomorrow' and therefore she will not re-fund undelivered order. The problem is that each time I call they are telling me tomorrow or after tomorrow... Scam!
I purchased a Holiday gift to be shipped direct to the recipient on 11/27/2021. I understand supply chain issues etc but at the time of purchase no mention was made that the main part of the gift was backordered. Had they said this I would have bought something else or somewhere else. They then proceed to ship each of the remaining items separately. So my nephews family receives a box with one spatula from me, a week later a box with 2 pot holders, several days later a box with Christmas candies and they still have not received the boxed set of Grinch cookie cutters. What a ridiculous way to send a gift! I did not receive notice that there was an issue with the cookie cutters until mid December when it was too late to get something else to them. I would never again order a gift from Williams-Sonoma.
I'm so mad at this company. I ordered two birthday presents. One went to NY and the other FL. I got confirmation emails for both. I just found out that they canceled the FL package and didn't notify me. They do not have a trustworthy online order department.
Customer service for west elm and Williams and Sonoma is awful, and agents are semi-combatitive. Have waited Aug to April to get a price of furniture delivered, that has been delayed, mis-communicated about, and finally I am desperately trying to get the price delivered with no luck. I wish the company was receptive to improving customer experiences.
I ordered 3 metal cans of hot chocolate. First time, they arrived smashed, box had a hole in it. They were not packed with any packing materials; cans banged against each other. Second deliver, the same problem even though I reported to them to use packing material. Third shipment, same problem. Each time I phoned customer service, they left me hanging on the phone for 1 hour per phone call. Each time I was told to print a return label and drive to UPS store to return it. I refused and escalated to a supervisor. After hours of arguing my case and refusing to return something that they are fully aware of their deficiency, the supervisor refunded my money. I will NEVER shop with them again. To put a customer out for hours of their time and then ask them to use their own packing tape, printer toner and then drive to a UPS store is unreasonable. I offered to send photos of damaged merchandise and they weren't interested. They have gone downhill from who they once were! I'm done.
My pepper mill has a lifetime warranty was a gift in 1976 in 2017 they replaced the cracked top (actually sent 2!) now a chunk has come out of the bottom and suddenly it's a 60 day warranty on gifts. What happened to my lifetime warranty that was still in effect in 2017?
The first time ordered wine glasses for a Christmas gift, paid for Next day delivery but got my order two months later. Second time ordered and called right back to cancel or get a shipping refund (they had a promotion I haven't noticed when placing my order) but they told me they can't cancel because my order had been processed already (I called 10 minutes after placing the order). Bad business
I ordered a thanksgiving dinner ONE MONTH AHEAD. At the end, my stuff was not delivered on time. The last time I contacted them, they mentioned they were having a lot of complaints with the orders. They offered me some of the money back, but it is not really the deal. I have people coming from the other end of the country and I counted on this company. The price was kind of high but I didn't mind because of the occasion and the web site that seems to be a reliable place. Now I am stuck with all my guests and no food
I ordered these meals as supplements for busy nights and to take to friends on the mend. Tried a couple and so far I am surprisingly disappointed. They are heavy on cheap pasta and rice and skimpy on dry, dry meats. Barely enough sauce to enrich the dish. I have had to supplement each and every meal. I wish I had taken photos both times - but was famished and needed to eat.
WILL NOT SPEND AGAIN ON THESE OVER PRICED AND UNDER CREATED FROZEN ENTREES.
I love to cook, and love shopping at W&S. Although I don't have a store in my area, I shop online. They offer free shipping on orders over $49, and often have sales on the items I need for pantry, or cooking supplies. The quality of their products is excellent, as is their customer service both in store, and online. It's one of my favorite places to shop
I ordered a gift for Father's day. It never arrived. Spent a total of 2 hours with customer service on 3 different occasions trying to locate my product: (1) first stuck in a warehouse; (2) 6 weeks later i call and they agree to cancel my original order and send out a new product; (3) new product never arrives either! We are now 8 weeks out from Father's Day. (4) call a second customer service agent who tells me the product was delivered. It wasn't, the first order was just cancelled by the customer service agent who ordered a new one be sent due to the original being lost in a warehouse. At this point I am done with my 8 week odyssey of trying to obtain the product I paid for and request a refund. The customer service agents are nice enough but cannot compensate for the fact that product was never delivered, and the amount of time spent trying to either get my product or my money back. If you can avoid WS, recommend you do.
Received a gift basket of foods including a jar of special bbq sauce. The jar was a bit sticky on the outside and upon opening (including breaking the safety plastic ring on top) we found the seal inside the jar was broken. I called to get a replacement and was told no receipt, then we won't help you. For a company that provides a lot of gifts, that is simply a cop out. They wanted me to go back to the gift giver and tell them the product they sent was defective and ask them to provide a receipt... Right...
While not of much value, I am still amazed at their response... Won't be buying from them going forward
Twice now that my purchases was delivered after a year since ordering - both online and in the store, and I even paid shipping costs lol! One order I made 3 years ago, way before the pandemic, and this current one was all delivered One Year later!
I waited to use it for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, 4th of July, - name all the occasions that I want to use my purchase on but nope, still backordered. Lol!
If the item is backordered, it will be delivered after 1 year, pandemic or not! LOL
As you can see from other reviews their shipping service is horrible. On a Thursday I ordered a coffee maker that I needed for the weekend. I paid for next day shipping. After it was too late I receive an email stating that the coffee maker was out of stock and would arrive on Monday. But I was charged next day shipping as they shipped the filters via next day air. Now they refuse to refund shipping so I am disputing this through AMEX.
I bought a box of Green Pans from Williams and Sonoma in South Windsor, Connecticut. They are garbage, I would not recommend buying them. I did everything right and they started to fall apart. Very disappoimted.
DO NOT order on the website. I used my local store to pick up. System defaulted to Charlottesville, VA. I had a gift card which the system took for payment. I paid $9.24 extra no problem. After payment the system rejected the gift card and charged my account $271.29 without authorization. Customer service cannot do anything to fix this issue. Sending a new gift card in the mail and refunding the debit card sometime in the next 3 days does no good for my 10th anniversary this weekend. I'm out a gift card and $271.29 and we are down to one income during the pandemic.
Answer: Scam, questionable business tactics which are reported to the Better Business Bureau and American Express. Failure of customer service to respond within 72 hours as promised.
Answer: Because they are scamming to show higher sales numbers. Their systems can't even handle an address change ( when my order was delayed 5 months I needed the address changed due to a move).
