For the last 6 hours they have been saying it's supposed to be dry and cloudy.it has been POURING for the entire 6 hours and they have yet to update there report. Embarrassing
I've been using The Weather Network for years, decades really. But they forced this really crappy new beta format on me a few weeks ago and I'm done. It is absolutely useless. I'm looking for other options. Yahoo maybe.
I use TWN daily to keep track of what's coming up weatherwise, plus winds and so on. They kept pushing their Beta site to test out, but I never did click it. Yesterday I'm suddenly forced to use the new site and it's just garbage IMO. Nothing but a page full of text boxes that I make me dizzy trying to read what the weather is going to be. They had a simple format that showed it hourly for up to 4 or 5 days, so easy to plan around what bad weather might be coming. Now you can't even figure out what day's weather you are looking at if you scroll down past the current day/time.They only list the date at the top of the boxes starting at midnight (in small print), so by the time you get to mid-morning you are lost. Will have to just find something else now.
I liked being able to glance at the forecast for the week to get a quick overview. But this new format puts so much info into each day of the 7 day forecast that a quick glance is now impossible. For instance I don't really care what the wind gusts will be in the evening 5 days from now, but it's now listed! What was condensed into one screen has been now been so broken down into so much unnecessary detail as to become just convoluted.
The weather network changed their website today, so it now looks like their piece of garbage app on a computer. All the graphs and charts are gone, making it impossible to see predicted weather trends easily. The whole site is now completely worthless.
Watched it everyday for local forecast and was very reliable now it's just confusing. We don't need to know all Atlantic canada unless your travelling there just focus in on the local like you did before.
This year, while looking at their 10 minute forecast, the bottom of the page stated Campbell River. Overlaid on top of that was a smaller rectangle that stated Courtenay.
We had a surprise snowfall in October. We knew it was snowing, so did Environment Canada but these people are telling us it's raining. I wonder how often they update their data.
The Weather Network is pathetic.
Your update is a complete fail. One used to be able to see the weather at a glance (either hourly or for the next week), now it's a complete dump of data that is very difficult to read. Does no one test the usability of a new format? Go back to the drawing board! In the meantime I have switched to weather.com
First and foremost the weather network clearly has no idea how to predict weather BUT they claim they can predict climate change and the causes? All the videos in the lineup are nothing but fear mongering and have no actual substance which looks like a bunch of children put them together. The forecasts and even the current forecasts are always wrong and change by the minute it makes me wonder if these meteorologists are blind as well. If you losers only knew how many businesses and ppls daily lives you mess around with by not doing your jobs correctly and seriously go back to school and learn what percentages mean because clearly it's never been taught to you idiots. Id also like to mention the ads I get in Chinese every single day while I'll live in Canada where the two languages are French and English not Chinese.
Overall, the weather network has been slowly declining in the ability to actually forecast the weather. All special attention briefings for extreme storms and life-threatening heat. We are all tired of the use of scare words.
That keep alot of people afraid and anxious. I am now looking for a better weather information provider.
I used to like seeing the hourly forecast at a glance, or the 7 day at a glance...now it is just horrible. Blue on blue is awful, scanning across the page is horrible, scrolling and trying to see what you want is horrible. The new format is a complete waste. Even if the predictions weren't perfect, at least it was easy to read the old format. Terrible change.! If I could give it ZERO stars, I would.
Absolute waste of taxpayers money!
The only thing weather network is interested in is selling advertising and bombard the website users!
Government should cut funding and save taxpayers a billion $!
What a waste of taxpayer money!
Cant trust the weather network! Example • june 16 am, web site says clear and sunshine, i live there and it's completely overcast and pouring rain!
Tax money hard at work paying useless companies!
The website is slow and unreliable. There are tons of ads and it automatically plays videos. The predictions are usually pretty off as well. I'm usually better off checking the weather radar and making my own prediction.
Thé 2 Last winters was suppose to be the coldest winters with lots of snow…… way off. We had very mild winters last 2 years with next to no snow…. El Niño, el nina…. Really. They are so wrong on all there season predictions. I can do the same…. Winter…. Some cold periods with milder periods with some snow and freezing rain. Some sun and some clouds….
What a shame! For very many years, I've been relying on the weather network for forecasts, and never felt any need to switch. Unless the old format is brought back very soon, I'm gone for keeps.
So the actual station is 20 minutes away from me. Not for the first time it is showing me light cloud and I'm looking out of my window and there is lightening.
I walked my dog yesterday based on their astrological predictions and came home soaked from head to toe
I absolutely HATE the new map design. It makes it almost impossible to find your location as the print is so small. If you zoom in the print disappears completely. I'm looking for a new weather app. It wasn't broken until you tried to fix it.
This was a very bad decision and one that I think will cost you customers.
You used to be able to get a hint of what the weather was going to be like in your area for today and tomorrow. That has been eliminated. Now they show you what the last 3 hours were like. I just lived through the last 3 hours so I already know. How about the next 3 hours. Weather warnings that show in red across the bottom used to be local but now are often for places hundreds of miles away and usually just mention towns and not even the province so unless you live there you don't know where it is.
The weather network radar doesn't show radar in Winnipeg and east of Winnipeg. Have complained to them on there website no response yet. Thunder storms have come through with no warnings what so ever.
The new radar map is not worth the money spent The "Cloud" mode is completely off base, not even sure what it is showing! You look on the map for cloud movement and it shows no cloud at all when I can see it is completely overcast. Everything on the map seems white and slightly grey making no sense or vision on the density of the clouds. The old radar map was great and I used track and follow it usefully, it would beats the "new radar" hands down. Upper management needs to be shaken!
Answer: Because there is so much bad weather that they do not want to put you in any more of a depression than you are already in. The only place in Canada where you can get the Four Season blaas
