I am pleasantly surprised with Text Now nothing but good things to say.
I had textnow on several devices so are my friends. But we had to uninstall optt out. Completely. Due to several reasons will name just few 1. Textnow will send you text none stop telling you use it or your number will be deactivated. 2. If you text or call using textnow you can never ever delete or block or remove history of calls including spammers calls or texts. Textnow app is not worth using at all.
I enjoy this service. I can have a separate phone number to conduct what is necessary and not interrupt my main line
When someone sends me a picture message it will not open on my iPhone. Can you please advise a solution? No solutions existed in my search.

After I inbstalled the sime it kept trying to recongize the sim forever. When I called that number from my other phone some one else answered. Trying to call my other phhone from the text now phone did not work either. I saw a lot of ads and found this to be a total waste of time and money.

Very happy with the service, i have used this app several times with several different cellphones. And never had a problem.
The ONLY thing I have against textnow is that you want me to PAY for a service that is now free in order to recieve verification codes! WHY?!
Textnow has helped me out of not having service and works with wifi which is great no bills ever
All I can say is it does the job well...phone calls and texts go through...
You can do the free ads on Google.but word of mouth from some one else got me to order my number
This is a great second line that allowed me to communicate with my contacts in Canada and USA while outside Canada without paying for roaming charge on my main provider
I love this app it is an amazing app to use for texting and or calling.
I love having this second line because When giving out phone numbers, I am skeptical about who gets my personal number And Text Now # gives me an option to where I don't have to
I was using the TextNow $13.99/mo Sprint based service, it worked OK except for coverage in my area. Tried both their CDMA Sprint and GSM T-Moble. I did port my old number over to them. I switched to Freedompop's annual $49.99/year service. They have lousy texting so I use TextNow's free service through my Freedompop data AT&T service (good coverage). Group texting with TextNow or Freedompop is a bad idea. My only complaint with this setup is the TextNow app freezes up about 15% of the time.
If MintSim had coverage in my area, I would be using them.
I downloaded this app to really see if it was better then textPlus. I ran a few tests to see the difference. Here are the results. Results are for the Kindle Fire HD.
PROs for both:
-They both send free text msgs.
-They can send picture msgs.
-They can receive picture msgs
Text Now is a good app for people who have no cellular data I even use it myself but the number one problem I have with Text Now is it most of the time doesn't give me notification of when someone is calling, I get notified when someone is texting me but not when there calling and I do have my notifications on for Textnow. Hopefully this issue gets solved in the future.
