TextbookRush Reviews Summary

The company has garnered mixed feedback regarding its reputation and customer service. Positive sentiments highlight competitive pricing, a wide selection of textbooks, and satisfactory product quality when items are received. However, significant concerns arise from prolonged order processing and shipping delays, leading to frustration among customers. Issues with order cancellations, lack of tracking information, and inadequate customer support further exacerbate dissatisfaction. Overall, while the company offers appealing prices and a user-friendly purchasing experience, it must address operational inefficiencies and communication gaps to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.

Almost impossible to talk to someone. Accidently sent the wrong text book to them. Once I was able to get a live person to speak to. They told me they received the book, if I sent them $4 to cover shipping they would send back. I did this, they emailed me saying they received the payment would send book. Even gave me a shipping tracking number. Never received book back and the tracking number was not real. When I finally after several attempts was able to speak to someone. All they would say is they don't have the book. Denied having it.(although I have emails saying they did and the fake tracking number they gave me.) I contacted an attorney that sent them letter and called them without success. I can go to county t h ey are in and file a lawsuit and make a report to bbb. I wou km d nt recommend using them. I never thought I would have issues. I did though. Their customer service sick if you can reach them to speak.

The frequently asked questions addresses "liquid damaged books; books with damaged bindings (e.g., pages loose, missing, or falling out); defective books; and books with torn/taped covers, or study guides/workbooks with any highlighting/writing" but they do not take any books with highlighting. The specifically say the wording is obstructed but obstructed means blocked. You can still read highlighted text and underlined text. Other vendors do so do not waste your time with Textbook Rush. They would not return my book until I filed a complaint with the BBB. Poor customer service.

When I shipped back the textbook to the company, don't hear anything from them for about 1 month, then I contacted the live chat online, since no phone number I can call to talk about the problem at all. They said already send me a check, I waited for another 2 months just about 3months and 5 days til today. I've contacted live chat again but the first rep so rude, not even say how are you etc, and simple send me the exactly words from their website policy, I ended chat and contacted live chat with different rep same thing. Their customer service are awful! They both did the same send me the policy about how they can't reissue another one after 90days policy etc. from the date first issued the check to me 3 months ago, but the thing is I NEVER got my check at all, is that a scam they took my brand new book value of $150 and I got $0 zero? This reined my first time doing selling book to this company, I will never come back again, in really feel like got cheated and got advantage by the company, if I can get my textbook back would be great but now they don't return to me. If everyone have this kind of problem the company will be getting free money from customers. I rarely do this kind of bad review but I have to because I lost my $150 for nothing and wasted my time, I should have sell it to my school or local even quoted me for $120, $30 difference worth for the money because now I end up with NOTHING. :( so lame. I can't dispute this or anything since they kept saying their policy is within 90 days, what a rip-off. If you decide to sell and get money back faster I recommend you go other places or website, but not here. I really regret now. Never back again.

Avoid them! Sent them a great book and they wouldn't pay for it because of two pages of writing. Then I paid for the return shipping and got a book back that wasn't mine and had sticky notes and lots of writing and highlighting. I told them and they just kept telling me there is nothing they can do and that it was sent back the way it was received - it was clearly not. They showed me pictures of my book when they received it and it was in the same condition I sent it to them. They took it off their reject pile and kept my book. Liars. They rip you off and you are helpless.

Received rental returns from me by mistake and will not send them back. Claim to have notified me weeks ago and now will do nothing to get these books back to me. Will have to buy them from the place they should have gone to. Will never use them again. And very rude customer service.

TextbookRush.com agreed to buyback a brand-new textbook from me, but when it was received they stated it didn't meet their standards and they couldn't accept it. I asked for details of why this was the case and they refused to give them. This is a case of extremely dishonest customer service.

I rented an A&P text book from ValoreBooks. I was sent the incorrect textbook by TextbookRush. I reached out to Valore books and voiced my concern that I needed to return the incorrect textbook. Valore books gave me directions on how to return it, and I followed those directions. I had to pay $13.40 out of my own pocket to return the incorrect textbook that was sent. Keep in mind that the money I was using, was coming from the GI Bill (I'm a disabled combat veteran). TextbookRush then stated that they were not going to refund shipping (that I paid for out of pocket), and were only going refund the purchase price. After multiple emails back and forth, they stood by their decision to NOT refund the shipping that I paid for. I then wrote a review (Jan 30,2015) on facebook, alerting my veteran friends to not do business with TextbookRush, referencing their regard towards veterans, and willingness to take advantage of [disabled] Soldiers. The next morning, the review was deleted. It's a shame that a company will be so stubborn, and force others to pay for their wrong-doings. Continuing, it's incredibly disheartening that a company will have total disregard and complacency towards soldiers/veterans, including those that are using the GI BIll who will be forced to miss out on opportunities of which they are entitled, because of that organization's business practice. VETERANS- DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I've sold and bought books on textbookrush so I am an experienced shopper on textbookrush. I've never had a problem with them cheating me out on the price of money for my book or receiving a book in bad quality. I honestly have saved SOOO much money from buying from them because my community college over prices the books that I need and I always end up saving at least 70% savings from buying it on textbookrush. One seller who I really trust is TEXTBOOKNOOK. Whoever they are, THANK YOU SO MUCH! Because the quality of the book I got from them is AWESOME. Also, when you sell your book, make sure it's in good condition and don't lie to yourself that it's pretty if it's torn up lol. That's all folks! And lastly, always read reviews for sellers before you invest your money in buying something from them!

I purchased book 3 month ago on 9/12/2014 and didn't have a chance to use it until now 12/20-2014. It's a alternative book and I understand from description that it could be different from original publisher, but it is nowhere on their site states that it would be much worse quality than original. The pages are very very thin and you can see throw them and it's ok, but when pages just start falling off is not ok.

Terrible website for textbook buybacks! I sent in three books with a quote of $154, but they only paid me $11! They said one book had water damage (which was true, so I'm not complaining about that), and they didn't give me a reason why they wouldn't accept the other book. I emailed them to ask, and they said that my other book had "a strong odor" so they couldn't accept it either. This book was rarely used and in perfect condition, so they straight up lied to me. It will sell for $70, but now I don't have the book or the money! And I have to pay $20 shipping if I want them to send my books back to me! This is a scam!

I love textbookrush when they actually have my text book I need in stock for a rental price. I can sometimes find it cheaper used at my bookstore. You have to order the textbook you want at least a quarter in advance to make sure they have it in stock and you get it in time for your class. Using textbookrush at the very last minute is hard because they might not have the book you need if you are wanting to rent it. I have found this is the fastest and easiest way to save money.

I sent a BRAND NEW book and was told that since the access code was used they couldn't buy it, nor would they return the book without I pay $3.99 and then they MIGHT be able to locate it in the warehouse. DON'T USE THIS SITE. IT IS A RIPOFF. My book was used less than 5 weeks as I am an online student, NOTHING wrong with the book no tears inking or creasing. The last used book I purchased stated that I would have to purchase an access code as the previous owner utilized the access code. No biggie. You will not get paid by this company.
