If you are coming from a Samsung, you will be just as surprised as I was to find out the specs on the Pixel 5 aren't truely accurate.
They say that the 5 has always on display (which is the "screen saver") but it actually only turns on when you are plugged in or docked. This is very inconvenient for someone who wants to know the time discreetly without touching their phone or obnoxiously asking Google what time it is. Navigate to display/advanced/screen saver/when to start and you will see the only options are; while charging and/or docked and never. In my opinion, third party apps don't work as well so if you're accustomed to always on display and thinking about a Pixel 5, you might want to reconsider.
Really awful experience - they have handling agents who can't actually do anything but relay messages to the back office, so you end up repeating the issue again and again and again. I had an order issue for 7 weeks, they kept suggesting things I should do - which I did each time - rather than fix it at their end. In the end they just gave up as they couldn't figure it out... still have an order with them that I will never see. Buy from a retailer, the store is to be avoided.
I was going to switch to Google Fi and buy a new Pixel 6 phone - I love my Pixel 3. But after I tried to talk to a support person to figure out how to transfer my numbers I decided not to. First there was no phone support - call me old fashioned but I like to talk to people. The only available support option was chat. Then the person on the chat barely spoke English. The whole time they were "explaining me" lol... at one point I was like - "dude, don't explain me - I know who I am, rather help me figure this out":)
Bottom like after seeing how incompetent their employees are I decided I'll keep my current provider. I do like the pixel phone but if I have to deal with incompetent customer support for my mobile service it'll be a nightmare.
I had made a purchase a couple months ago of doordash store. It was a catering bag and now I have no proof of buying that and they saying they can go in my account and pull it out I'm trying. To figure out how can I get that receipt or proof that I purchased the bag.
Trading value of old phone CHANGES overnight while trying to buy new phone, plus the value of old phone changes depending on what phone you're buying. Value should be unchanged. Customer service rep himself told me it doesn't make sense. Their phones suck, been having issues with every pixel phone I owned. Time for a change!
It seems the google store has issues communicating with its customers. I had a fraudulent activity with my credit card and the google store doesn't seem to get this and still want me to pay for items I never order or received and they have block my account for non payment. I have tried to fix the issue but the people that work for google are either stupid or the company just don't care to resolve the issues. People need to stop using google product and stop this company from getting away with anything.
I will definitely never recommend google product. If anyone needs cameras or locks just buy from Amazon - RING.
I did the mistake of buying a pixel phone from Google store. I have sworn to never order from them again. I mostly shop online and have never from any store encountered such incompetent service. They don't ship your order, ship it to wrong address, take hours on customer service just to tell you they won't do anything. Please save your money and either order from Amazon if you want to buy their phone or better yet just buy literally any other phone. Don't say you weren't warned later
I was one of the loyal customer of Google store but with the recent experience I am avoiding the store once and for all.
I went with trade in phone for the new device and the trade in process is so painful and frustrating that i have decided not to buy anything on google store.
Please avoid the google store at all cost, don't even order anything even if the item is for free.
I bought a google nest 2 years ago and I had problem with charging it sine day one when the AC works.
It seems like when they realized that this hardware problem is an issue with a lot of customer they introduce the power connector. So, Google Nest customer support advise me to buy it which I did.
But, it did not help. I asked to return this power connector to google store but they said that it pass 15 days, so I can not return it.
I spent hours talking and explaining the situation that all because Google Nest going back and forth trying to figure it out why the power connector is not working, the 15 days pass.
They basically let me talk to different departments so many people until I gave up and I am sure this was the main goal to make me give up.
Gust don't but google nest and don't buy anything from google store.
I've bought a few things off Google store and their delivery and products are usually good.
However recently I purchased an item which was faulty straight out of the box and trying to return it is an absolute nightmare, I've been literally begging them almost every day to simply sort out my return, it's been a month and they still have my money and I have a burnt out piece of scrap that they sent me... Honestly avoid Google store like covid-19, that said I'd rather deal with covid over Google store any day of the week
To anyone wanting a Google phone. Don't do it. When I bought it I subscribed to their preferred care plan, an extended warranty that should cover repairs if my phone is damaged. I've been paying for that plan since January 2023 and 3 weeks ago I needed it. This is the latest in a long line of emails between myself and Google trying to get the plan working. Everytime they say they will send it to a specialist team they issue seems to disappear or get twisted. Several of those "teams" went silent and never followed up or responded. I have half a dozen emails just like this one where they offer something completely different from the original issue, ignore the real problem and then say "oops, sorry, lemme get a specialist". Wash, rinse, repeat.
At this point Google has made it clear that they aren't going to fulfill their end and are basically just taking advantage of the fact that it would take too much time and money to fight them with a lawyer.
Long story short. The plan is garbage. They offer it to customers with their purchases while fully aware that it doesn't work and refusing to either cover repairs costs as promised, or refund retroactive payments for the clearly useless plan that fails to do as promised. I'm not the first or only one to have this problem and Google doesn't allow reviews to be posted on their store site which is a red flag in and of itself. Just don't buy their devices. You'll regret it like I do.

Honestly the worst online order experience I've had. Ordered two pixel 7 phones with cases and accessories in November 2023. Trade in kit never arrived despite 3 calls to Google (currently Jan 30). Customer service reps are useless in that all they do is filter your request up to a "product specialist" and you need to explicitly agree to sharing your information for that request. Sent in 2 cases for return, mailed them out, checked a week later to find out that my return had been canceled and they're holding cases and my money. Wouldn't bother with Google devices or products again, just not worth it until they figure out how to process orders.
I was excited to order a pixel phone and accessories, but then something went very wrong, ON Trac which the Google Store picked as a carrier lost my package prior to any effort to deliver it and told the Google Store about the loss. Eight weeks after my order, the Google Store failed to find someone who was empowered to return my money. I finally called my bank to complain, and they were able to return the money to my account. There were no offers to expedite a second phone, all I really got was silence. I can't even imagine the potential problems with a repair or return, so there's no pixel phone in my future.
I recently purchased a pixe 7 phone and traded i a pixel 5 for which the store indicated in the appropriate condition would release a refund up to £200. The phone sent in met all the condition parameters on the store site and despite this Google only refunded £90. I tried to challenge this with Google but they refused to review.
I would not recommend the trade in process with Google as better value can be realised elsewhere
Terrible company. Never purchase anything from the Google store. They lost my trade in phone and refuse to do anything about it. Customer service (Vivi) lied about the return period. Claimed I had 30 days, when in fact it was only 15. Refused to answer me about if they eventually find the trade in phone what will happen. Google store is a complete scam operation. Customer service is unbelievable rude and totally unhelpful. All they do is lie or refuse to answer your questions. Filing with both the BBB and FTC. There needs to be an investigation into google regarding their seemingly unending fraudulent activity.
Ordered new unlocked Pixel 4a 5g from Google Store, received empty box. Google Store claims they are not at fault and did nothing more. Filed claim with Fedex as well, thought that should be Google Store's responsibility. They claim no fault. Looking online, this is has happened to a bunch of people, and only for the Pixel phones. Super suspicious. They have a clear problem they care nothing to resolve.
Ordered a Google pixel 7 pro and never received the product. Fought with them and Fedex for 5 months with no result except your paying for the product or it will go against your credit. I've purchased 5 products from the google store and never had a issue before now and they won't even attempt to help. They state it's Fedex's fault and I call Fedex and they tell me all they need is for google to file a claim and Fedex will refund the money. Nope Google wont budge. I will never buy a google product again
Google refuses to refund me to a trade in. They have received the phone. For weeks I have requested an update and they tell me it's been escalated. Asking for a manager they hang up on me. I will never buy a Google product ever again. Buyer beware.
I've pre-ordered pixel 8 pro with pixel watch 2 LTE and the buds pro all in blue azure, on 5th October just a day after their presentation, after approving the payment, receiving mail with the confirmation, preparing my order, 4 days later I received a mail saying they denied my payment, tried again, 2 days later same problem, they denied my payment saying both times to talk with the bank, I went to the bank and they said everything is in order, Google lied to me, after 1 week of stres, trying with 2 cards to pay, I've placed another order same items just on black and voilà payment successful money gone from my account and order prepared for delivery
Upgraded to a Pixel 7 pro based on the fact I would receive £140 trade in value. I sent the old phone away which was in excellent condition.
The trade is was rejected based on the fact that the phone had a damaged body. This was simply untrue. As the purchase of the Pixel is outside the returns window I cannot return the phone.
My recommendation would be to avoid PCS and the Google store trade in. It's a pity as the Pixel is a great phone but the experience has left a bitter taste.
