I booked a flight from Arusha to Zanzibar, using Smartfares because their cheapest fares. A couple a minutes passed before I received a call from Smartfares, telling me that there was a mistake and I had to pay 62% in addition to the original price. There was not any other alternative, but paying that extracost, which was immediately charged by them to my credit card without my confirmation. It was a terrible experience, the first and the last one with Smartfares.

After paying for my tickets, I was told that I would have to pay an extra $350 for the baggage to complete the purchase. I complained about the unexpected extra payment, so you reduced it to $216. Still, you should have mentioned that this is a mandatory extra payment before I made the purchase.
My experience with this company raised red flags. The process felt unclear, and when I called to get clarification, the customer service representative abruptly hung up on me. This lack of transparency and professionalism was concerning.
I bought the ticket in Australian Dollars whilst overseas. Because we had daily limit on our credit card the payment was declined. I contacted my wife in Australia to change the daily limit. After she talked with you, the amount changed into American Dollars, which ended up an extra thousand Australian Dollars. Very shifty.
Smart Fares was clearly not a reliable company for flights, I would not recommend them. They were very difficult to deal with when asking for a cancellation, I had to call many times and they could not provide me anything in writing stating that I would be refunded. They charged my credit card twice for a flight that was non existant, I had to get my bank involved.
We booked flights today for our family, $4500 worth. Received an email right away saying there was a problem and then they immediately called us. They said the airline wouldn't honour the rate they sold us our flights at. We argued they advertised it, that's what we wanted to pay. They asked us to change our flights around on different days. We reported them to Visa, and after much arguing they cancelled our booking. Used FlightHub instead.
I already got my reservation code and I had to talk with a lady. Because she told me that the price of my reservation changed.
First she wanted to charge me 300 usd more and after many situations she charged me 80 usd.
This is not acceptable. I already had my booking reservation payed. Originally was 900 usd at the end was 1020 usd.
They decline your credit card at the price online and have you call in. Then they rake up the price by $400 and force you to purchase on the phone. When respectfully decline their offer. They speak in some other language and hang up on you.
These people are all scammers!
I'm not satisfied because I bought the plane tickets and also paid for the checked baggage, but at check-in the payment didn't appear, so I had to pay again.
Bought a ticket from Kabul to Harare and my card was charged. No ticket was sent for 5 days only upon multiple follow ups i was told that one leg of the flight was not available. Would appreciate urgency in ticket bookings.
I had problems with my credit card in the payment because of a limit in the first payment that I solved with my bank executive. Then a smartfares agent tried to do the payment but the flight I have reserved was complete so they offered me another flight more expensive. We were in a 1 hour phone call when it was not necessary to be all the time in the call. Then the smartfares agent told me that the new resevation was also unavailable so he offered me another more expensive flight (US$600 more than the first one). The agent told me that I could not cancel the reservation so the only option was to get the more expensive reservation.
Just quick and efficient replied pretty quickly looking forward to see the experience, getting bad reviews specially about sitejabber here hopefully my flight will happen and everything will go smoothly
I tried booking my airline tickets via smart fares. The process was simple but when it came to making payment it was a disaster. The fares quotes on the web page were wrong and payment could not be made. The call Centre was trying to be helpful but could not assist.
I got I little bit of confusion about some mails that they sent me but I called and they helped me to clear out the situation in a way, but it was awkward
Answer: Smartfares! They will offer a deeply discounted airfare and send you a confirmation number to your email. The next day you will receive an email to call them immediately because they were unable to confirm your flight. When you call them back, they will try to sell you another flight at a much higher price. SCAM SCAM AVOID!

Answer: Yes. They stated because of flight increase they canceled my flights. Then they wanted me to pay a balance of what the new increase was. So disappointing. I paid for four fares. They took the funds from the bank n then canceled my flights.
