Cons:
Could use more teachers from different backgrounds; there's plenty offered but could use more subjects/topics to study. I recommend someone look through and hand select more topics/genres that Skillshare could gain. Maybe like Languages if not already included.
Pros:
Great information for a small price and direct contact option with the creators/teachers
Lots of topic to choose from (computer science, music composition, illustration, writing; those are the things I studied :)
I'm would have to agree with Bob J. This company is very sneaky in charging you after the free trial. They sent me a courtesy email, a day before charging my credit card for another year subscription. They didn't even give me the option of signing up for another month to 3 months. They just went ahead and charged me without giving me enough time to think about continuing or cancelling my membership. Typical of these types of companies. My email to them was unsuccessful due to a non existing email of theirs. And they provide no phone number to be reached. It's a real shame, because i really enjoyed their classes. But i will never sign up with them again.
Everything you read about Skillshare and how it has deceived a lot of people are true. Experienced it first hand and boy, i am now full of regrets I continued signing up on this site. The mere fact that I already cancelled my free trial before it ended, Skillshare still charged me for a full annual membership fee! I sent tons of email and tried to contact them to whatever platform I could find my I got no response at all. I recommend you try udemy, its cheaper, better customer service or just go to youtube, its free.
I feel you can find most of the stuff Skillshare has online for free through other online services such as YouTube. Also, be aware your membership auto-renews so if you paid you only have 7 days to contact them for a refund.
I forgot about the trial period, because contrary to what they say they don't let you know when it's coming to an end.
I asked for my refund because as stated on their website you can get a refund until 7 days after the payment. They told me they would look into it and never replied.
Guys, I like the classes on skill share but what the hell, my account has been deactivated and there has been no further contact from the support team other than the initial contact. I mean I like going through the classes here and as far my knowledge I haven't done anything outrageous. I checked credit info and it's alright. What you guys take money from willing customers and butcher them too? The classes are really good, I miss them.
I use Skillshare outside of work when I need to brush up on my
Software skills. I know that others do as well.
Variety: the skillshare.com library is enormous. In fact, it can be a
Little overwhelming when you sit down and search.

It makes learning easy and interesting. I request that you provide translated versions of those courses, which are not in English. This can help those who don't understand Germany to take the courses online.

It has been almost years as a premium member of skillshare. It is a good source for creative learning. There are plenty of courses that matched my interest; from iPad Art creator, to pattern design and many more!
I am interested in WordPress and SkillShare provides great course for it. Most ofthe instructors are really good at their job and teaching very understandable for beginners. They always keep content up to date and making new courses depending on the technology. Also there is library in Skillshare.com, which you can find any topic you, want for example integrating PHP with databases or SEO for WordPress. I really liked the variety of courses in this site.

The structures of tree house courses were really well designed. They don't assume you know anything and hold your hand every step of the way. The courses also evolve into building real world applications, with room to expand if you're feeling confident.
Keep referring to the class content even after you complete the class.
Learn at your own pace, and do all homework and quizzes. Re-watch
Videos if needed. Try to complete "with highest distinction" (grade >
90%), it's entirely possible.
SkillShare classes were part of a whole bunch of online classes I took
In AI, machine learning and data science.
I truly would, and have, recommended Skillshare to people. There are excellent instructors and supportive community. As an older learner who is coming back to art in a new technology driven world, the classes have been so helpful. Most of all, I can see progress in my work. Thank you, Skillshare!
I love skillshare. Not only do they have a wide variety of classes to chose from, the classes are short... to the point and easy to consume. I have learnt a lot in the design field which has been great for my business and creative journey. Would highly recommend to people who want to learn new skills but like their learning in bite-sized pieces rather than long drawn out courses that cost a fortune.
Wide variety of available courses, and excellent video quality. I also
Enjoyed having the famous instructors on it.
I wanted to learn Python and d3. I believe that the offered courses
Certainly helped me get some proficiency in these two areas.
Skills sharpen done, but platform required some UI improvements.
Same as everybody here, I was charged 99$ for a full 1 year membership because I forgot to cancel my payment during the 2-month trial period. I sent them an email within the next 2 hours of the charge explaining that I have no wish of further using their service and requesting a refund. In less than a day, I got a reply saying that everything is ok, that I am getting my money back and besides that, I was offered a 30% discount for a 1 year membership if I ever reconsider signing back.
I cannot understand all this hate Skillshare since they are very reasonable people and will refund your money in the end even if it is your fault, at least partially, for not cancelling the payment during the 2 month trial. I am definitely considering about buying a membership sometime.
Hi Andrei — Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm glad to hear you were able to work this out with our Support Team. Hope you'll consider using that 30% off discount to sign up again soon!
I'd give 0 stars if I could. I've reached out multiple times requesting a refund for the random $99 I was charged without warning and without being given a timeframe of when the trial would be ending. The fact I'm out$100 AND no one has responded to my emails to try to help out at all is even more upsetting.
Hi Maura — I hope you heard back from our Support Team by now! They should be able to help you with this. If not, please send us a private message with your email address and we'll make sure someone reaches out ASAP.
