Skillshare is best suited when you want to have all the theoretical knowledge of a course in detail and it will give an opportunity to learn in detail. Sometimes for me, it's difficult to understand someone's accent.
A wonderful and fun place to learn all sorts of skills. As an artist, I have expanded my skill set by leaps and bounds in the last three years because of the Skillshare platform. From photography, digital art to fine art, there are myriad of classes to help artists who are self-employed. The marketing classes are my absolute favorite since that is my most challenging area. Thank you Skillshare!
I have learnt so much over the last few years through the Skillshare classes. I have learnt how to create surface pattern design digitally, learned how to use Adobe illustrator and Photoshop software. Also I've also rediscovered painting medium of watercolour and gouache. It's a wonderful place to access creative learning whatever your skill level.
I signed up for Skillshare last year for some photography courses. They courses were okay. Unfortunately I forgot about the subscription until I noticed the renewal charge on my credit card. That's where their 7-day refund policy catches you. I never received notification of the pending renewal nor did I receive notification of the renewal charge. They just hit the credit card which I caught at my end-of-month review of charges. And they are pretty firm on their 7-day refund. So if you do sign up, make sure you set a reminder for that one-year anniversary. They definitely value their $99 more than the good will of their customers.
Skillshare.com is an amazing instructional, educational website. We
Have contracted with Skillshare to serve up instructional videos that
Our internal staff and administrators use on a regular basis.
Skillshare.com has a wide range of instructional training videos on a
Lot of different subjects.
In my opinion, it is one of the best instructional education
Websites. Overall it's been a good purchase for me.
They have so many excuse not allowing the Teacher the get the teacher challenge bonus, if u are lucky u can get their bonus (only a few did) and they will entice you to sign up 1 year membership via silently charging your credit card... better stay away.
I signed up for a 2-month free trial and probably used it for 2 days before I realized I could find the same kind of content on YouTube. I was charged $100 2 days ago. I read through multiple websites and it seems they do not give out refunds. With my $100 I don't even get the pro features. Bs. I'm a full time student with no time for a job, so this was a HUGE hit for me. My money was wasted on this stupid website- enjoy my food money skillshare!
First of all, it does have an awesome design, it's very nice to look at
The website. But apart from that, it's also a great online learning
Platform.
It helps to keep me focused while learning and that's a big plus.
Just trying to improve my web development skills, and learning new
Technologies. I've recently finished my degree in university, and
SkillShare helps me keep fresh with the latest technologies.
Skillshare.com library of learning videos is particularly impressive
And covers a massive amount of tutorials and helpful content.
If you are looking for ease of use without the university cost, this
Program is a must and can be tailored to meet any business needs.
Skillshare is both a tool used by myself and colleagues to expand knowledge for new and familiar technical concepts alike. Additionally, it is also a way to provide training to new hires. In the field of information technology, new advances happen almost every day, and as professionals, we are expected to be consistently ahead of the curve in support of the needs of our customers. Skillshare gives us a central location to receive training on technologies we need to be familiar with in order to effectively serve our clients or business.
DON'T use Skillshare if you don't want fraudulent charges made to your account. I signed up for a FREE trial and cancelled it before the trial was supposed to end to avoid any charges. The day after it was supposed to end i was STILL charged $96 to my debit account. This is unacceptable. I had the worst time trying to get a hold of the company to discuss this and when I finally did, their answers were completely ridiculous. They beat around the bush and on top of that, ONLY want to be contacted via email. No phone number available. So to avoid any random charges made to your account then don't bother even signing up at all. Not worth the headache.
I really appreciate what you guys are doing! You have a lot of great courses and the idea behind it is cool! I had no major problems using the platform: I am using Skillshare already for 2 years now, and I've noticed only at one or two days some problems. And usually the support team reacts really fast and is very helpful.
I had signed up for skillshare for the free 2 month trial. I have enjoyed my time there but however, I was charged 99 dollars that I don't have immediately after the trial ended. I know this happens but why isn't there a reminder like netflix? I had cancelled my premium membership but it seems that I am still being charged a full year. I am just a teen from Malaysia only signing up for the trial to try skillshare but now, I am 99 dollars short which is equivalent to 400+ in my country. Needless to say I don't have that much money. I have contacted skillshare's email before. 4 times. And was replied with the "our team will get back to you as soon as possible" it could be true but I have checked, I waited for a full 12 hours (from 9 am in New York) till 9 pm but I have received no reply from anyone from their team. I have never felt so cheated and I asked for a refund in all the emails.
Hi Dan — I'm sorry our team wasn't able to reply to you as quickly as you hoped. You should have received a response by now, but if you haven't, please send us a private message with your email address so that we can look into your charge.
I was looking for a class to learn my indigenous language and skillshare popped up as the first result. I thought that I would try to go on skillshare again when I saw it because they were clearly implying they have classes for what I wanted to learn so I put my card info in thinking they weren't gonna bill me until the end of the year or whatever. But when I got onto skillshare there were no classes that were teaching that language which upset me a bit but what really got me angry was the fact that they charged me. They stated that each customer can only get 1 refund which I already used about a year ago when something similar happened.
Skillshare does not value learning new skills as they advertise, they claim that they're the easiest way to learn new skills and they teach them to all members. But like I said earlier they don't value learning or education they, don't have respect for their member they are scammers and unless you want to learn basic skills they are not as reliable as they claim to be. As you can see in my photos below that they are trying to trick people into giving them their money. And I was unfortunate enough to fall for it twice please Don't be an idiot like me and just learn what you want on youtube it really will save you time and money.
I loved a lot of great content is completely amazing, but it all has the
Quality of a paid product only. You can tell that they truly care about
Their content.
Finding something worth learning is extremely easy. I believe the
Product quality is top-notch and you will likely feel the same if you
Just pick a course and start!
As a student, using SkillShare as a supplement to my studies has
Proved invaluable. The git course in particular has taken my
Professionalism and efficiency to the next level.
Skillshare is heading in right direction and has lot of content, which we is available unlimited times. I would highly recommend this software and you should enroll yourself in it in order to fulfill your personal goals. Its most useful application is technology wise and for tech savvy guys. For social media and other than technology courses, it is not best and you won't get appropriate content on Skillshare.
The Skillshare community is comprised of over 3 million students and thousands of teachers, from 100+ countries, who come to the platform to learn skills to to fuel their curiosity, creativity, and career. Students can enroll in hundreds of free classes, or unlock unlimited access to the full class catalog by upgrading to Premium for a low, monthly rate.
Discovering Skillshare has opened up a whole new world for me. I can re-visit techniques long forgotten and learn new, cutting edge skills. I love it. I start almost every day with an hour of skillshare (or quicker if I set it at 1.25 or 1.5 speed!)
I am a student and I live in Ghana so $99 is a lot to me. My phone got stolen that is why I was unable to unsubscribe. I've learned my lesson and be very cautious next time but I need the money back. They can't do this to me. I've only used the site once and I found out they didn't really have what I was looking for.
This is bad, they should give us some kind of warning and a better way to assure us of refund. I have contacted there support mail but all I received was that they've acknowledged my complaint and would get back to me as soon as possible. I'm pleading, I can't afford it please
Hi Mukhtar — Thank you for writing in to our Support Team, and I'm sorry to hear about the trouble! You should have received a response by now, but if you haven't, please send us a private message with your email address on SiteJabber. We'll make sure someone reaches out to you soon!
I signed up for a 1 year subscription for $99 back in July 2021. I only wanted to use Skillshare for 1 year, so after I signed up, I went into my account and disabled autorenew.
I receive my credit card bill in August 2022, there is a charge from Skillshare for $167. I immediately logged into my skillshare account and started a chat with a customer service rep. I told them what happened and said I wanted a refund. They looked into my account and said, "Sorry, it's been more than 14 days since we charged you - according to our terms & conditions, there is no refunds"
I went back and forth with the rep stressing that I turned off autorenew - same stock response. They never sent me an email prior to being recharged letting me know that my subscription was going to autorenew - and at a higher price.
Stay away from this company - you can find all the same instructors on Udemy, and when you buy a course, you own it for life. Pay once - that's it. Plus, Udemy is always running sales, so you can buy an excellent course for as little as $9.
Buyer beware with Skillshare should be their slogan...
