This site is 95% dead. They took to misleading their customers by offering fake matches and other bul#sh*t.
All my matches were either inappropriate or outdated or unresponsive. No normal person out of 57 "potential matches". You might as well flush your bank card down the toilet.
The site's owners must be very greedy and narrow-minded people with 1 big goal: to screw lonely men out of their $$ and €€.
Anyway I think there is nothing to do on Silversingles. I left it with no regret and I don't recommend it to anyone, unless you are searching for a weird way to get rid of your money.
I made friends on this site. One told me he wasn't online when it said he was, nor did he check out my profile. Others told me the same thing. They maintain many profiles of people no longer members. Please don't waste your money!
Really bad, the company chooses your matches and and distance, mine have been all over 75 I'm a young 65, and from places 100's of miles away. You cant get in touch with siver si goes, and no one answers your messages... dreadful!
I have paid for 6 months and I got contacted by numerous scammers with fake profiles. I nearly fell a victim to the first one and then had to educate myself about their tactics, unfortunately... Some of them were taken down by the site's security team but some were not. The experience was highly disappointing! I met with only one real person for all this time. I suspect the rest of the profiles were fake. Unbelievable and highly alarming.
They lured me in with 40 girls in my area, when i joined; 39 of them dissappeared leaving 1 gal within 100 miles of me plus i ordered for one month and they took three months out. They said i would be refunded but that was 3 weeks ago and still no refund. I urge everyone to do what im doing. Im going through the better business bureau, the FAA, and the Federal Authorities and filing complaints with all 3 and then file a lawsuit for putting me in such a financial bind that i needed professional help before harming myself..
The worst experience I had. Automatized program for unannounced reason blocks your profile, people you interacted with receive the letter of "investigation". Nobody helps you restoring your reputation, while the support team sends letters that are signed by Indian comedian... Indecent. Unacceptable.
Terrible site. Did the freebie for a couple day's constantly got emails there was a new match or people viewing my profile. Go to site can't see anything but buy premium. Wrote get a generic letter back. So out of curiosity I took the bait. What a waste of my 130.00. Very disappointed and can truly see why the rating is 1Star. They send matches to one commonality. Not matches. They also don't give a percentage on match and then say 100 or 200 miles and they move it to 400+.
Not worth the money.
I've been a member for 6 months and 99% of my matches according to my profile were from the most homely looking women Ive ever seen. One would think that they would post an attractive picture of themselves but the all look like they just rolled out of bed.The few that were attractive never responded to any of my quires.
I did have one woman that needed money to return to the USA, she was stranded and broke in Turkey after a diamond buying spree... she would pay me back with diamonds... I assume she is still stranded, or maybe some knucklehead sent her money.
If these women want to lure a man into their lives they need to look like a women and not post ugly pictures of themselves.
25% of the time, images will not load. You end up with a blank white image. Doesn't matter if it is the app or the website. You are limited to filters. I'm tall and slim, but you can't request any type of body style, slim, heavy, athletic. I'm an older white man. I'm not interested in black women, but again, no filter. I list women in 50 miles, but it defaults to people all over the us. NOT what I wanted. It shows 400+ matches, when it is actually maybe 20. It sends you an email if someone browses you're profile, no picture of that person. You have to log in to see if you are interested. Terrible site. Do yourself a favor and skip it. Match.com is 10x better in every aspect.
This site cannot be trusted.
They send me a 50% discount offer, only to charge me in full! And when I am calling and emailing to cancel and withdraw:
Customer service does not exist-hold over 2 hrs on phone no answer... will file complaints with prper authorities to take them down.
Stay away from this site. Not trustworthy
I could never get a response from Silver Singles about getting a partial refund, so I turned to American Express, which got my money back. And then they sent me messages saying they were waiting for payment from me! Why hadn't I paid! So poorly run, one hand doesn't know what other is doing.
You can surely TRY it. But get out before the three days is up. If you don't, your money is lost and that's the way they like it!
At first this looked good. I should've known when I saw that the company was German. Why would a foreign company be running a service for Americans? Did that make sense. But, it looked good, so I thought why not try it. The three day acceptance period should've been a red flag. Most services have 30 days... and you get a full refund. I wasnt looking for a full refund if I didn't like the service. I wanted the service. So ive asked for a partial payback. We'll see if I have one positive thing to tell. But the negatives were plenty: a few days after I signed on, I couldn't access the site. My internet service was working perfectly. I could access every other site I regularly went to. I got no people matched to me in the "quit time" of three days. I finally started sending out smiles. By week two I got a few smiles back. So I asked questions of the people who'd smiled at me. A few minimal responses and nothing. THen I was being matched with bunches of men with no photos. It said photo upon request. I kept requesting photos and got no pictures. And I starting reading poorly written profiles. Bad grammar, English, nonsense responses. Where do you feel most at home: at home. What? Sarcasm? What is most important in your life: Jesus, my faith, my church. The answers were errily alike. Here is a good example: No photo for someone named James from Kenner, a suburb of New Orleans: James is really passionate about:
Love saints foot ball
Friends would describe James as:
Good listenerRespectfulPhysically fit
James and I
Loyal
James enjoys these activities the most:
Working out, working, building things.
Bland profiles a child could write with minimal information about what goes on in New Orleans. No adult with a high school education would write so poorly about their interests if they were seeking to lure a dating partner.
There were app problems all the time. I'd send a comment, but I couldn't add a message along with the comment. It's some fly by night operation. There is no customer service phone assistance. Only email contact that is acknowledged 24 to 48 hours after a request for help is sent. I simply didn't put it all together until now.
This is a place where your money is stolen do not sign up because they can lose all their money and many people have a lot of propaganda but everything is false please do not fall there in that criminal organization
I paid $69 a month for Silver Singles. Most all of the men emailing me had profiles removed and I received notifications that they were being investigated for scamming. Not something you want to pay $69 a month for. Very disappointed.
After someone's subscription expires, or after they've canceled it because they're fed up with Silver Singles, the profile lives on, apparently forever. So the majority of those profiles you're looking at are of members who are no longer active on the site, and you're wasting your time. My subscription expired and I assumed they'd take my profile down, but they didn't! I'd get emails that men had ‘Liked' me or messaged me, but I couldn't see THEIR photo. The ‘Matches' they send you show profiles of former members who are long gone. Don't waste your time or money on this site. It's pretty much a scam.
They guilt you into purchasing their paid membership (which is really overpriced and actually not worth a dollar) by presenting you a showcase of fake accounts. Then these profiles are nowhere to be found. Nobody replies to your messages. Needless to say, I tried to take my SilverSingles profile down but admins were reluctant to remove it. They wanted to keep charging me but I contacted my bank and put a stop to those unauthorized charges.
Not everyone will be as lucky as me. There are some clever scammers on this site.
Best to totally stay away. There is no way to authenticate the profiles because they send them to you without any backend info: paying member, not a paying member, history like divorced, single, widowed.
All the important historical info is screened out of the profile.
Disaapointing at best!
Have no proof of purchase cause I deleted everything that would remind me of this waste of my time and emotional energy.
I've been on SilverSingles.com for several months and gone through hundreds of profiles on the site.
**ALL** profiles presented by SilverSingles are either:
1) Catfishing scammers trying to get you to go off site with phone numbers or email on profile pictures
2) Catfishing scammers with a success story and please call/write my friend who is looking stories.
3) dead accounts that do not respond at all
This site is clearly a total SCAM... avoid it completely, and don't expect anything for your money if you do pay.
I would not be suprised at all if the site is directly operated by the catfishing scammers from the way it responds if you log in to it.
She met a man on this site and ended up emailing back and forth a lot, ending where they were "in love" and he was going to spend the rest of his life with her... they never met fyi. He then went out of the country for work and happened to need some machinery released and didn't know it would cost 30k! He asked her for $14,500 and then when he gets back they would live happily ever after and he would repay her... THANK GOD my 82 year old mother said "heck no goodbye!" WOW, shameful! His name was Paul Maris, and an architect (of course). BEWARE!
I give them no stars, but I have to give them something, otherwise my review isn't accepted. You cannot search, you can only accept the "leads" they give you. Half or more of the leads are "dead prospects". No one has replied to me. This is a terrible dating site.
Horribly unvetted and unmanaged as they claim they aren't intelligent enough outside of the 30 year old algorithms they use, to control their own website. Constantly bombarded with fakers and scam messages. However, if you dare complain/post the truth they will find time to censor it... and in the end, if you persist, they will block you altogether as the last photo shows. Nothing but a money trap that is begging for governance and congressional oversight. Any one up for CLASS ACTION?!
Answer: You do not want to sign up to this site for even a minute. They are scammers through and through. They will have no matches for you but will clear your bank account. Please don't join.
Answer: File disputes with your CC company and/or PayPal I am fighting for a refund also report them to anyone that matters we have to get the word out
Answer: YOU BEEN SCAMMED! I PAID ABOUT THE SAME, BUT I WAS ABLE TO SIGN ON AND USE IT. BELIEVE ME, YOU'RE BETTER OFF AS IT'S FULL OF SCAMMERS, MEN POSING AS WOMEN AND WOMEN POSING AS MEN TO GET YOUR $$$. I HAVE 457 "MATCHES" ACCORDING TO THEM. 457? BS
