BE CAUTIOUS. THIS IS A SCAM WEBSITE. They enroll you in an automatic subscription without your knowledge and then withdraw money from your card. If you contact them, they will tell you that they will not refund your money because you did not cancel the subscription 24 hours before the end of the plan you paid for. They do not sell physical or informational products that were sent to your address or downloaded to your computer. They are scammers, and the automatic subscription is part of their business through which they defraud anyone who has ever entered their credit card information there.
Here is the letter:
Dear xxxxxxx, Thank you for your message. Your premium membership renewed because the automatic renewal was not cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of your subscription term.
Regrettably, we will not be able to refund the renewal of your subscription. The right to a refund expires after 3 days of the initial purchase of your Premium membership.
As indicated before and after purchase, every subscription renews for the same duration. However, it is still part of the same contract you entered into when you first purchased your subscription.
You can still use all the Premium features until xxxxxxxxx, on which date the subscription will end.
If you cancelled your subscription prior to the renewal, please send us any emails or documentation of this and we'll be more than happy to look into it!
In the meantime, we thank you for your understanding.
Best wishes,
Meredith

Silver singles is actually a combined site with Elite singles, they cross the membership over, I know because I passed from one to the other and saw the same profiles. And the sign up process is identical. I corresponded at length with Silver Singles as to why the "matches" I received were so far away (I live in the north west) they told me to narrow my preferences. That resulted in a recycling of previous "matches" and about 50% of the people not even displaying photos and still many people who were well above my age range. You can delete the matches and they ask if you wish to say why. There is a drop down with "No photos" which you can click and a polite message to say that they will take your comments into account for future matches. Of course they don't, the longer you stay on the more they scrape the barrel. The "Have you met" section I don't want to go into detail, poor people but was frankly just sad.
Conclusion this site doesn't work unless you are in the Home Counties and because they have an imbalance of more "senior" members they will try to shift them down the age line to create interest in the older members but waste your time (and fees) in the process.
Then comes the fun part. Try to cancel.
The disingenuousness of the cancellation page is beyond belief, I don't know how they get away with it. I haven't got the energy but someone should do something about it. You join and probably in joining for 3 months you, like me, assume you will cancel automatically, so to be safe I checked my account page, yep no problem it certainly looks that way. And then they take payment... Within minutes I contacted them to explain it was my intent to cancel and request a refund. They just hide behind a lack of online evidence that you have canceled and ignore the simple fact that you don't want it anymore and want your money back. I have written five times this week, they reply with 24 hours and but I get the same irritating standard responses to the point where I wonder if it's a person or a machine I am talking to. In short if I cannot get satisfaction I intend to inform others not to make the same mistake. I am so confident in reporting the cancellation issue because in the initial chat with so many of their members, they are telling me they had the same issue otherwise they wouldn't still be on the site.
Word to the wise, if you meet people who are about to leave the site and give you an e-mail with a bizarre extension an exploitation attempt is imminent. If anyone writes to you (particularly if they are surprisingly young and attractive) just simply check that they have actually visited your page.(visitors) if not they are just broadcasting and looking for vulnerable people to manipulate. You can't blame the sites for this but spot them and report them. I have done it and site do broadcast a "stay away from. " message to members who have been visited including whoever reports it.
Stay safe and good luck in love but make sure you get off the site when you wish to.

This site is an absolute joke. Do not waste a second of time on it. I don't think there are any real women on there. Every response I've gotten (and there have been several) has been fake. I've gotten different versions of the same message from 40 or 50 different "women." And most of the similes I've received are from profiles with something like "text me 3one6five8two4seven3one" as a username. There's more catfishing on this site than on the Louisiana bayou. Save yourself the time... and money.
That this site is garbage
Na
I CAN'T COMPREHEND HOW THIS SERVICE CAN EMPLOY SUCH INCOMPETENT ASSWIPES!
IS IT INDICATIVE OF THE CEO's CHARACTER?
GO ELSEWHERE
WHAT TYPE OF $#*!-$#*! SERVICE IS IT ???
I did a lot of online dating more than 10 years ago and belonged to many different dating websites over the years. I gave up and stopped looking for almost 10 years, but decided 8 months ago to get back into the game by giving SilverSingles a try. I immediately regretted it.
This is the WORST and most badly managed singles/dating website I have had the misfortune of being on. The site is very difficult to navigate and you will rarely get any sort of a helpful response from "customer service." All you get are the same canned, pre-written responses to whatever your complaint or question is.
This site won't let you reorder your profile pictures if you'd like a different photo to appear first, but meanwhile they let through LOTS of photos that are supposedly against their rules, like sideways photos, photos that are too dark to see faces, photos with than one person in it. They lie and say they review photos, yet repeatedly let bad photos through.
I was very specific that I am a woman looking for a man but on more than one occasion, SilverSingles sent matches to me that are women! They also seem to have a very poor security review practice because I have been approached multiple times by men with fake/scam profiles. I can always tell these are scams because of the way they are written and because the photos are always obviously fake/stock photos -- usually much too perfect and clearly staged. Since I can always sniff out a fake profile, I always write something that tells the guy to buzz off -- I'm not interested. Then days later, sure enough, SilverSingles sends out an email warning me and other women who were approached by these scammers about the fake profile. If SilverSingles would do their due diligence in the first place, there wouldn't be so many fraudulent profiles and scammers on this horrible website.
SilverSingles also repeatedly sets you up with exactly the kind of person you made clear you wouldn't be interested in -- or people who are geographically much too far when you specified a certain amount of miles. Then they ask for "feedback" on their supposed "matches," saying they want this feedback so they can improve their matches for you, but they routinely ignore your feedback and continue to send you the bad and too-far matches.
Most people I have approached on this site NEVER respond, which tells me most of the profiles are old and outdated and no longer active. Unethical dating websites such as SilverSingles keep old, defunct profiles active to make it look like they have more members than they actually do.
Also, be careful if you sign up because they don't offer any sort of monthly payment plan. Instead, they deceptively fool you into paying for an entire year at once by outlining the amount of the yearly cost divided by 12. It's all very cleverly and misleadingly worded so that it SEEMS like you are signing up for a monthly plan but you aren't -- they will charge you for an entire year and WILL NOT relent when you explain that their website DID NOT make it clear you would be charged for an entire year at once. If you don't realize the mistake within 72 hours, you are stuck on this terrible website for an entire year.
I JOINED IN GOOD FAITH AND FILLED OUT MY PROFILE FULLY. BIG MISTAKE. ONCE YOU ANSWER A QUESTION, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE THAT CATEGORY BLANK WHEN A SITUATION CHANGES OR A MISTAKE WAS MADE. THEY MAKE YOU PUT ANOTHER ANSWER IN OR LEAVE THE ONE YOU HAVE. ANOTHER ISSUE IS LANGUAGES SPOKEN. I PUT IN ENGLISH AS I ONLY SPEAK ENGLISH. MY CAT WALKED ACROSS MY KEYBOARD AND ADDED "Sign LanguageTeluguAbazaBambaraCantoneseDanishEgyptian ArabicFaroeseGaelic". I LAUGHED UNTIL I REALIZED THAT I CAN NOT REMOVE THEM! ALSO, YOU CANNOT REVIEW YOUR OWN PROFILE TO SEE HOW OTHERS SEE IT. THEY HAVE A GREAT ENROLLMENT CAMPAIGN TEAM, SELLING FATTY CHOP MEAT AS FILET MIGNON.
DON'T!!!! YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED UNLESS YOU'RE A SCAMMER. SCAMMERS MUST MAKE A FORTUNE ON THIS SITE AS THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT THEM. ALSO, ALTHOUGH I DO NOT WANT TO GET INVOLVED WITH ANYONE FURTHER THAN 100 MILES, THEY SEND ME MATCHES FROM OTHER STATES AND OTHER COUNTRIES ASKING FOR $ FOR PLANE FARE TO MEET, YEA, RIGHT.
NOT APPLICABLE. LET'S ADD HERE THAT THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS ACT AS BOTS WITH SINGLE OR DOUBLE DIGIT I.Q.s. I'D ADD MY CUSTOMER # SO YOU COULD SEE I'M REAL AND TALKING FROM EXPERIENCE, BUT THEY EITHER DON'T APPLY ONE OR DO NOT LET YOU KNOW IT.
