At first I was very happy with Shoebuy.com. They had sizes that are hard to find and my order was shipped quickly and accurately. Unfortunately three of the four pairs I ordered were WAY too big and I was unable to wear them. I was aware of their return policy and happy to pay the re-stocking fee for the convenience of not having to travel to stores to find these shoes. We live in a very rural area, at least 1 hour from any major brand name stores. I was shocked when I only received two of the three refunds and was told when I called that the third pair had been rejected for return because the shoes had been worn! I carefully explained that it was impossible for me to have worn the shoes as they were WAY too big. Of course I tried them on but never even left the bedroom. So sorry but cannot recommend them as I thought I would be able to do, they do not stand up to their policies, buyer beware!
First time I purchased since the restocking fee was instituted - might be the last time I purchase. As a long time customer, I don't remember receiving an email saying that the policy was changing.
Added - I did receive an answer from Shoebuy explaining their new policy (explanation that I had seen in response to other complaints as well). What this answer conveniently ignores is the fact that I might have bought something using a coupon code, but if I want to exchange it will be for something at full price.
Added - to be fair, when I went through the exchange process, I was able to apply a coupon code. So, the pricing is about what it would have been. But, this means that there needs to be something else I want if my first choice doesn't work out.
We would like to thank this customer for shopping with us and we appreciate her feedback about the return policy.
On July 16th, 2015 our site was updated to show the new policy to make sure customers would know in advance. Our homepage says “free shipping + free exchanges” and the entire policy is listed under the Returns section of our Help page. The new policy went into effect on August 1,2015, and all purchases made on August 1,2015 or after are subject to our new return policy.
Our policy enables our customers to choose from any items in our inventory until we find an item they’ll love – more than a million items – whether that’s a different shoe or perhaps a bag or coat. In the event they prefer not to exchange for a new item, there is a restocking fee. We want to assure this customer that our decision to not waive the restocking fees on her orders was made carefully and in accordance with our guidelines.
We understand that this customer is disappointed with our policy, and we do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Should she opt to exchange, we’re happy to help her find new styles or items to try.
I had the same issue trying to return shoes and just found out they went out of business abruptly. I guess their poor customer service caught up with them. Anybody need a pair of Saucony men's running shoes size 11.5? HA HA. Guess I'll have to squeeze into them after all.
Ordered shoes on 3/10/21. No confirmation was sent but I was charged. On 3/15 I emailed about the order. No response by mid day 3/18. I sent another email - their mailbox is full. I tried to reach them via their Facebook messenger and was told I had to email. This isn't how business is conducted. I understand long lead times for product and 1 or 2 days delay in responding to email but something isn't right about this so I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I asked Shoes.com to cancel my order. Not that they'll get that, their mailbox is full!
I will NEVER order from Shoes.com. I didn't want to select any starts, but I had to select one to post this review. I am a huge online shopper and have never had such a bad experience. After being on hold for over 30 minutes, I figured out how to process a return without an account or speaking to someone. Also learned that I will be charged $5.95 for the return. So much for free shipping and returns! I will never go to this site again, ever. Terrible (really no) customer service and misleading claims regarding shipping and return fees.
Hi Dara,
Thank you for the review. We are really sorry for the frustration trying to reach our customer service, it is something we are working on. Please do check your messages as we are sending one onto you right away.
Kind Regards,
Shoes.com
They sent me someone else's shoes and now I can't find out where my shoes are, never a supervisor available. The customer service rep was very rude. I will never order from here again. I will stick with Zappos,, I was told on 2 separate occasions A supervisor would call me back 14 days later, still waiting
We are very sorry for any problems the customer has had with their order. If a Supervisor is not available, we recommend asking for one to call you back within the hour.
Bought many pairs of shoes from them. Kept most. Returned a few. Prices are good. Selection is great. Shoes arrive when promised and refunds are made promptly and with no fees. Overall a great experience. I have recommended to all my friends. Great company!
I ordered 2 pairs of shoes and received an email telling me that one pair has been cancelled. I called to clarify and was told that they are no longer in stock. I was very upset because I planned on receiving these shoes next week and need them for a wedding. I said that I don't understand how it takes almost a week to notify me that something is out of stock. The customer service representative then argued that it hasn't been almost a week... It's been 5 business days, which is almost a week to me. She then told me that I needed to look at this from a bigger perspective than my own. My understanding from this conversation is: Do not rely on shoebuy to fulfill the order. If you find something you like but don't really care if you ever receive it, go ahead and order. Shoebuy feels no responsibility to fill orders.
We are so sorry to hear that you did not receive the excellent standard of customer service that we strive to provide. Unfortunately, because of how things ship, we are sometimes informed by the supplier that an order cannot be fulfilled due to being out of stock. In these situations, we usually try to cancel as soon as possible so the customer will have their money back as soon as possible. This is a rare occurrence and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it causes.
I bought two pairs of boots and ordered the wrong size. They sent me the return tags and I took them to UPS as directed. Since it was two tags, they could not send in the original box. My credit card was credited and then I see charges from them again on boots I did not ordered and received them back. I contacted customer service and they cannot refund my money due to the boxes were damaged in transit. This company is nothing but a scam do not use them.
I ordered slippers on Shoes.com and TWICE they sent me the wrong item and have never refunded me. Customer service gives no response. DO NOT order from them.
Ordered a pair of sandals. It took 7 days to ship and another 5 days to receive by horse and wagon. Other companies can get stuff to you with free shipping in 2-3 days, why can't they? When trying to find a tracking number with the order number it said my order didn't exist. I finally called to find out what was going on. They have internal problems they need to fix. You live and learn.
Ordered some sneakers, they came to me defective. Shoebuy wanted me to return (pay $6.95 fee) and then reorder new ones. Very deceptive. When i asked to exchange them for a non-defective pair, they told me my size was sold out. Very, very shady behavior -- should be their responsibility to send me a non-defective pair of shoes and waive the restocking fee.
Will never shop here again.
We would like to thank the customer for shopping with us and apologize for any confusion with our return/exchange policy. The customer can return the shoes as a defect and when our warehouse receives the shoes they will do a defect review on them. If the shoes are deemed to be defective no restocking fee would be charged.
Purchased a pair of shoes from Shoes.com and wore them inside on carpet only 2 times for short periods of time. Did not fit properly and returned for refund. They were sent back to me saying they had been worn and soles were scuffed. Talked to someone in customer service who could only argue with me. Shoes.com Is not a place to purchase shoes. Try Amazon instead.
I have been shopping at this site for years, but lately their customer service has been deplorable. I am missing a pair of shoes from a shipment ordered a month ago, and despite multiple attempts to reach customer service via both email and telephone, I have received no response to my inquiries. When I am able to get through to the customer service number, I wait for many minutes on hold, only to be summarily disconnected. Email responses are automated and have nothing to do with my question. I have wasted many hours trying to get a response from their merchant to no avail, despite their claims that customer service is of utmost importance to them. I will not be shopping at shoes.com again
Anything to make a sale. Send the wrong color shoes just in case they stick. Then you want to return them? No problem except for the $6.95 restocking fee. In the fine print as part of the free return policy they advertise. These guy are very bad.
I was a long time customer who spent thousands with them. Then I had to return the 2 pair I just bought due to fit and no exchange sizes were in stock, I was never notified of the new 6.95 PER ITEM restocking fee. I called and was rudely told too bad- it's not their problem and they will not make any adjustments. I can't fathom why they would do this to GREAT customers. A simple adjustment would keep my business and the next time, I know what the new policy is. But no, not at Shoebuy.
We would like to thank this customer for shopping with us for years however this is not the first time this customer ever returned items. We tried to explain to this customer they could exchange their items for anything on our website and not be charged the restocking fee. We understand that this customer is disappointed with our policy, and we do sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Should they decide to exchange, we’re happy to help them find new styles or items to try.
This company has been so difficult to deal with, that I am actually writing my first review. I ordered 2 pairs of running shoes. I confirmed that they can deliver to a PO Box. However, they chose to ship via UPS that won't deliver to a PO Box. I spent the morning on the phone with UPS and finally got an address change. Only then did I find out that they sent the shoes in separate parcels - one of which shipped, the other of which just had a label created but was never put into a parcel. I spent further time on the phone with one agent (who hung up, I'm assuming accidentally), then a second agent who could not/would not provide assistance. Shoes are the right price, but only if you receive them. Go elsewhere.
Hi Kris! We are so sorry for any confusion. We always ship with UPS but our contract with them allows them to deliver to a P. O. Box. If you did not receive your package due to a ShoeBuy or UPS error then our customer service department can usually issue a full refund for the item.
Again we sincerely apologize for any confusion regarding our shipping policies and hope you have received your items by this time.
Purchased running shoes from shoebuy online at Wal-mart. Returned them but then Shoebuy sent the shoes back to me Erroneously claiming shoes were Worn and Dirty. I wore them on carpet for all of 5 minutes! I see others have had the exact same problem with returns to shoebuy for the exact same (erroneous) claim that the returned shoes were worn and dirty. Obviously this is their SCAM policy. Customer service claims they're doing a "image review" so we shall see but I'll never ever buy from them ever again.
We purchased 2 pair of shoes One box contained two different sized shoes. We spent an hour (mostly on hold) trying to get a solution to the problem. After much ado we have to take to the shoes to a UPS facility to return them. We expected "something" for all of our trouble and were surprised that "nothing" was our reward. Do not do business with this company.
Like most people, I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased. Shoe buy.com is making a profit off their "restocking fee", and you can not exchange based on the dollar amount. You have to exchange item for item. It's a scam.
Hi Jessica! We regret to hear that you were disappointed by our restocking fee. Our return policy can be found under the HELP button on our website and includes a 100% free exchange policy. Exchanges can be made for ANY item in stock on our website, even if it's just a pair of socks, and there will be no restocking fee.
Answer: Apparently they do not care. Not a real good omen for staying in business very long.
Answer: Stay away! I tried to make an exchange, and they charged me for the new shoes and then claimed that returned shoes were worn and damaged and wouldn't give me my money back. I wore them long enough to try them on and even then the shoes were so small and stiff that I couldn't get my feet into them! I asked the customer service "manager" (the 4th "manager" I spoke to) if we are allowed to try on the shoes and shes said "yes of course" to which I said then why do you consider what I did wearing them? She didn't have an answer. This is a scam to sell off damaged or defective merchandise. Stay away.
Shoes has a rating of 1.5 stars from 502 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Shoes most frequently mention customer service, return policy and credit card. Shoes ranks 652nd among Shoes sites.
We are sorry to hear that you were displeased with your recent shopping experience. While we do strive to provide a pleasant experience for all of our customers we are unfortunately unable to accept the shoes back. Our returns and exchanges policy states that shoes must be in unworn condition to be processed for a return. Our warehouse notified us your shoes were worn and hence not eligible for return. We know this was not the resolution you were hoping to find, however, our decision to not accept your return was made carefully and in accordance with our policies (for your reference: http://www.shoebuy.com/info/returns).
