I came to realize that Seeking Alpha is unable to post accurate closing prices on a timely basis for ALL mutual funds. Thus, if you include mutual funds in your portfolio, the values will be inaccurate. I have pointed this out to Seeking Alpha and their developer, but they are unable to correct this problem.
I like seeking Alpha as a lot goes on there, the premium services are the best. I have/am a member on the market place and it can be hit and miss but lots are 2 week trial so find out. What really stands out is the ability to cancel/halt paid membership, I have never had a problem with them stopping or cancelling and it can all be done from the site. Lots of premium sites make you contact them to cancel. If I was starting again, I go for Seeking Alpha premium and carefully follow the authors as often they only delay 2 days from the paid market place. Seeking Alpha is in my view far and away the best of these sites and lots for $29.99 pm or less on the annual. Just be careful as you can find too much on there and get a headache!
The articles range from poor to excellent, far more good ones than bad though. The comments likewise, but the whole stew is a big plus for my investing. The ease of the site is fantastic, the latest improvement that allows me to make notes on various stocks is a nice add. I'd recommend you without hesitation to any investor.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review John!
We're really happy to hear you are finding value in the diversity of opinions available on SA.

This site is garbage! Anyone can post an article and Alpha SELLS you this?
This has the most misleading articles available. It is a showcase of what you should IGNORE on the internet. I suspect it will be shuttered due to misrepresentation soon.

This site is nothing more than a cheerleader/bully forum where trump supporters bully anyone who actually posts what is happening in the economy.
S/A is the least informative financial site there is.
All bs and bullying, no real insight whatsoever.
Not worth a quarter, let alone what they charge.
Hi there,
Thanks for your note and we apologize for any misunderstanding.
We strive to ensure all our articles are factually correct but we do not keep any biases towards anybody's opinion. Authors are allowed to publish bullish/bearish articles on stocks that are long/short (respectively), providing they disclose their bias. Active investors with "skin in the game" often have some of the most articulate opinions on a stock, and we encourage them to publish their opinions on Seeking Alpha.
If you find a Seeking Alpha article containing a material factual inaccuracy, you can dispute it using the following steps:
Submit a dispute by emailing disputes@seekingalpha.com. Please be sure to include a link to the article under dispute in addition to the above information.
Identify precisely which section of the article you dispute (quoting the text), and provide supporting evidence of your claim that the article is materially wrong.
(Please do not use the dispute process to disagree with the author. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion about a stock; that's what makes a market.)
To help you gain a better insight about the website and navigation, you can see all the main features conveniently listed in our brief Premium Overview and find answers to most of your questions in our Knowledge Base
In any case, please always feel free to write to us at subscriptions@seekingalpha.com

I am a Seeking Alpha contributor. I wrote an article that they published as an "Editor's Pick." It took me months to research and write the article. They never paid me for it. I decided that I did not wish to make pennies an hour, so I never submitted another article. Their policy back then was to only pay when your account's payable reached $100 or more.
I recently received an email that if your account does not reach $100 within any given 12 month period, then they will claw back whatever amount they owe you. So, don't believe them when they say they will pay you. They won't. It is a scam.

Good articles, wide range of interesting and insightful people weighing in, with what I believe to be full disclosure as to their motivations.
I avoid using SA's 1 year history charts, as the time scale is way off, making it a headache to use.
Am I the first to turn this in?

Seeking Alpha is one of the new sort of stock research sites where anyone and their mother can write an opinion about a company. Some of the articles are OK but a lot of them are really bad. So you have to spend hours sorting through the junk to find anything worth reading. If you really want stock tips, try Barron's.

If you try to make a comment they will delete it if the moderator doesn't think the same. I have had many many comments deleted for no real reason other than the moderators hate the USA and Trump. After responding to a person cursing up a storm and calling President Trump and the US every name in the book I respond with zero curse words, no personal attacks and a mild response. All my comments deleted and theirs remain. I've had it. Not going back.

I signed up a few weeks ago and I am already impressed with my daily suggestions. I receive only the subject emails that I requested and I have made some good investments based on their research. Seeking Alpha is the best that I tried so far for premium services from a investment information service.

As a new investor in the US Market. This is a good place to go for information and research on stocks. Their podcast is also a helpful tools for improving your knowledge.
The only downside is that their presenter is not always interesting. (see: Wall Street Breakfast) some of the episode can put you to sleep.
I wish their apps are more user friendly. The user interface is cumbersome. Also for up to date market and price info, I need to use other apps.

Seeking Alpha's rules and regulations allow and sometimes even encourage the publication of misleading and illegal research. The site does not have to disclose whether or not it has a position in stocks that are highlighted in published articles. Anyone with concerns about the site should definitely go to: https://www.change.org/p/israel-securities-authority-impose-oversight-and-controls-on-seeking-alpha-to-prevent-manipulation-of-small-cap-equities

I used the SA Blackberry forum for a while. The site has an ulterior motive. They allow very biased and inflammatory authors to write negative article after article in an attempt to drive down the stock price. It didn't work and the stock doubled, proving the majority of the authors, who were bears, totally wrong. They often delete your comments, and are heavily biased to the bear side. I wonder if the site is into some sort of stock manipulation.

Moderators on SA are under educated power hungry low-level grunts practicing censorship and getting off on it when they do not even understand the material being discussed and its relevance. Seeking Alpha needs to fire their moderation team and hire more qualified people that don't interfere ridiculously with stock forum unless it's absolutely necessary. The moderation team they currently have is a major draw back to anyone participating or continuing on Seeking Alpha and could very well be its demise. As a CEO of my own Company, I would fix this area of my business quickly.

Great site for finding blogs about stock picks. The Stock Picking section is good for a quick read to see what people are buying and selling. It went down because of a DNS attack but it seems like it's back for good.

Answer: There was only one question in the are of your question: it was do they work in eastern time zone? I'm in the Central time zone and all times reflect my time. Although I didn't see any option to change to Eastern time. If I had to guess, I would think it could set local to members because they got everything else so right.
