Sakuraco is honestly the best subscription box I have ever tried in my life, and I'm not just talking about food. What you get is not simply a bunch of snacks, but an immersive experience in the Japanese culture. The snacks are so well curated and always include a great variety of both sweet and salty snacks. They offer typical and less well-known flavours of the Japanese cuisine which are so well suited for both experienced and non- clients. For real, this is my 4th box with them, and I am on another 3 month subscription plan (through which I get some special items, so beautifully crafted!). I have become a life-long fan and customer of Sakuraco, and I doubt I will be able to find a better box.
Got a gift from my daughter and it's a Sakuraco box, i love the design of the box and the snacks is delicious, it's really comes from Japan to your door
This is my first Sakuraco box and what a treasure it is! So many fascinating treats, the box seemed bottomless! And the Tsikimi rabbit dish is a piece of art. The booklet that comes with the box has beautiful pictures and information for each one of the items, plus a wonderful story of the Moon Festival. Having celebrated it while living in Taiwan and China it was fascinating to learn about the way the Japanese people experience this time of the year and the beautiful fall moon. Thank you, Sakuraco, for bringing a piece of Japan to our home!
Sakuraco is my absolute favourite subscription box! I'm always so excited to find out what each months theme is going to be, and it never disappoints! Each box is so well prepared and packed with such a wide variety of top quality snacks. I've tried so many different types of traditional Japanese treats thanks to sakuraco, I especially love the manju and mochi. The box also comes with one homeware item, this is what sets sakuraco apart from other subscription boxes, and they're always adorable items that I cherish and collect. The accompanying booklet guides you through everything in the box and is interesting reading for a Japanese culture enthusiast. Sakuraco is a fantastic subscription service that I thoroughly recommend!
I have been to Japan and was excited to get my first box. I know what quality Japanese snacks look and taste like. The box was full of cheap rice snacks of various types. I would not bother, and when I unsubscribed the site wouldnt let me. Now another box is coming. I tried to block them, they sent an email from another email address. I would not use them. They are like cockroaches. You can't get rid of them. I may have to go to the bank to block them on my credit card. Don't get involved.
The August box is fantastic!
Every flavour is different and a discovery. I love the little cultural introductions to every place, makes me want to visit every corner one day. The Sacred Spring at Jōgaku is simply magical
The Ichimatsu chopsticks…
I love it all!

I've tried many subscription boxes over the years and never quite felt the contents were worth what I was being charged, and that I was more so just paying for the shipping speed. But this?! Sakuraco is every bit worth the price! You're receiving 20 snacks that fit the season/month sourced from local Japanese businesses, you're GAURENTEED a Japanese home good such as chopsticks, ceramics, or furoshiki, and everything is beautiful packaged in a lovey box that contains a thank you letter and a magazine educating you on the small businesses they featured that month! All in all i recommend this 100%!
I ordered a 3 month subscription for a birthday gift and after 14 days, it still has not been delivered. Nothing I have ordered from anywhere internationally takes this long, nor has such inaccurate and useless tracking. The tracking is through some company 17Track, and it is worthless. My box (if real) has been in and out of USPS facilities over 6 times in the past 11 days it has apparently been in the US. BUT which USPS locations? No idea. (See image of latest tracking information) The Sakuraco website FAQs section clearly states that 1. If a box is lost or does not show up, it is not THEIR fault and will not reimburse you. If they ship you a new box to replace, you have to pay shipping again. 2. If the box is lost or missing, you are responsible for calling the delivery service or USPS for help. Well, 17Track has no phone # (and is located in China) and runs on Chatbot (useless) and the tracking number that is given to you, is in no way a recognizable tracking number to USPS, so they are unhelpful as well. Cancelled my subscription but did not receive email confirmation like I did get one when I signed up for the subscription. I took screenshots to verify with my CC company if needed as others have complained about the auto renewal without notification.
I received the April 2021 "Matcha Moments" box as a gift. I LOVE it! The soft milk and strawberry baumkuchen was especially tasty. The sakura patterned yunomi made a beautiful addition to my teacup collection. I am extremely happy with all the delightful treats included. I also love that an information booklet was included that contained not only information about the treats themselves, but small articles about various ingredients, a prefecture spotlight, and the various artisans. A perfect gift... even if it is for yourself!
The #sakuraco box is packed full of delicious treats straight from Japan. It was like opening a treasure chest: getting to uncover all kinds of fun new things I've never seen or tried before. It also comes with a beautifully orchestrated booklet full of information on each item included in the box so you know what you have (since 98% of the subscribers probably know zero Japanese, this is INCREDIBLY useful), as well as providing some history and cultural insight. This subscription is really worth it if you're interested in exploring some flavors of Japan!
I have been looking for a box like this for a long time! I absolutely love Japanese treats but they are near-impossible to find in my country, and even then they are often mass-produced and very processed.
This box has a fantastic selection of treats, including some I didn't even know existed! I love that they use independent shops and bakeries to source their snacks, and the booklet contains a piece about one of the makers each month, as well as allergen info, some history related to the box, and details about each snack!
I received my second box "Matcha Moments" yesterday and I am already in love, each box comes with so many sweet treats and some savoury bites, and the portion sizes are perfect for a treat with a cup of tea!
The permanent item with each box really seals the deal for me, the Sakura plate from the first box and the matching cup in the second are really beautiful pieces!
I am so glad I subscribed, and I think I will be subscribing for a long time! I love Sakuraco!
Sakuraco brings me back to Japan during the time of pandemic when I can't travel. Food from all over the cities of Japan brings back those memories when I'm there. One if my favorite is the Ukai Senbei. I'm really glad that I have subscribed to Sakuraco, thank you for bringing Japan to me during time like this. Looking forward to my October gift set already.
I look forward to this box every month! It has Japanese snacks in, and they are always very tasty and full of different flavours. The homeward is lovely too.
So excited when my first box arrived and immediately got stuck into tea and cake - I would definitely recommend this to anyone with a love of Japanese culture like me
I really enjoy these delightful surprises and table ware every month. Customer service is quick to reply to any questions. Happy with my subscription.
It's amazing Japanese treats. Knowing that I'll never be able to afford going to Japan, this allows me and my sister enjoy the delicacy of Japan. I can't wait to experience a new flavor each month.
I am absolutely in love with Sakuraco! The treats are fresh, high quality, and delicious. I have subbed to TokyoTreat for over a year but Sakuraco exceeds it in every way. These are hearty, delicious, freshly-made snacks as opposed to the more junk food you get from TT. The amount and quality is absolutely worth the price you pay.
I love the entire package. The authentic Japanese treats are not only delicious but truly a work of art. Can't wait to taste what's in next month's box! Would defintely continue my subscription!
This box is stunning. From the curation, to the way it was all perfectly packed, the gorgeous reusable box and postcard/note from Ayumi Chikamoto, it made me feel special and so ready to dive into the Spring season.
Thank you SakuraCo Team!
This seem to be a common complaints, the first time you subscribe, you will be getting your boxes on time and they use the same shipping company. After awhile or when you renew, the service becomes crappy and instead your box will never arrive and the excuse they change delivery service. I see this as a common review. On the tracking site - NO MOVEMENT AT ALL. And the customer service will tell you to be PATIENT. If you haven't been receiving your boxes and you already paid, how can you still be PATIENT. Sometimes I feel they think we consumers are stupid.
Answer: They are a legitimate company, but they do not have a refund policy and do not notify customers of automatic renewals.
Answer: I love the creatively curated themes and items in each box, and every month comes with a pamphlet not just talking about the products, but giving information on their importance to Japanese history and culture.
Answer: I have seen some reviews of bokksu but I haven't tried their box so can't compare.
