I have 1 of my cameras monitoring the dock on Lake Palestine. On 9/223 it caught 2 suspects taking the kayaks and putting them into the water and paddling away. The video was very clear and the police were able to ID the thieves and recovered my property/ This amounted to over $1500 for the kayaks. Great investment in security monitoring, The police were impressed with the definition of the photos and video which the camera captured.
STICK-UP cameras are not suitable for outdoor use at night unless your premises are well lite. For this and many other reasons Ring no longer manufactures nor sells them, I was told by Ring today. Word to the wise!
I replaced my Victure door camera, because it does not light up like a door bell. I purchased the Ring pro series, and the picture looks round. You cannot adjust the lens. I paid almost $200 dollars for this GARBAGE camera. The sound quality is terrible. I am working to get a refund. But I purchased the Blue by ADT. My neighbor has it, and the picture quality and sound is beautiful. Little pricey, but well forth the security. But do not by the door camera. You will regret it. I don't know about the indoor cameras.
I have had my RING for a little over a year. When I first got it it seemed to respond quicker than it does now. When I am not at home and it rings, by the time I get the RING to connect the person is LONG GONE! My daughter says the same thing about hers. I have to charge mine as I could not hard wire it. I always turn it upside down when charging so it does not go off every time we walk by it. Last night at 12:45 AM it goes off. I pull up the image and nothing was there. It really freaked us out!. There was NO one in that room and no reason for it to go off. It's just not as reliable as advertised..

The video quality is nice but going backward is ridiculous. I used to be able to view my videos on my computer but now they don't go back more than two hours. I tried different browsers and same thing. Called tech support to see if my plan changed and was told I had to view them on my phone. Went to my phone and it took 5 minutes to scroll down a list to try to get to 4/2/20. Found 4/20 and picked one to view. When done viewing that video it kicked me back at the beginning and not on 4/20, What good is a camera if you can't view videos when you need them. Argh.
This piece of crap when you try to go live because there is an event happening it takes forever, and after the event it connects right up but it is to late then the event is over. Piece of crap. I have a camera in the back that cost a third of the price and they connect each time with no delay. Ring spotlight a piece of junk.
After subscription ran out, doorbell camera was terrible. Live view would take so long to come on that it was a waste of time. I took doorbell inside in the same room as the router then engaged live view, an the camera was still so bad it was pathetic. The lens was clean. This proves that if you dont continue the subscription with the cloud that they diminish the performance. This means that the purchase price buys you the right to buy a subscription not a product. There should be a class action filed on this company.
It is not more than a piece of plastic, i literary put my money in garbage, it is not able to show any viedo, amazon turns a good product into rubbish, they dont reply on live chat nor emails, dont waste your money
I have had 6 cameras hooked up for several years now. One camera is now offline and won't connect to my wifi. My signal is strong and have even done a master reset. Still doesn't work. I have contacted customer service and they keep telling me it's my wifi. My wifi can hold 12 devices. It's ring and there $#*!ty product. I didn't have any problems untill the last update.
At no time was the consumer made aware that for the ring door bell to work. If the purchaser wishes for the door bell to operate as advertised all they need to do is bay. Not paying a monthly fee is one reason the bell was purchased. Nate and switch they should be sued class action
First off ring customer service is horrible. Secondly why would I keep the cardboard box the device came in? To change WiFi password I am being told I need the box the device came in or to physically remove the device that is screwed into my wall! This is ridiculous
It takes 7 - 10 days for a refund which is asinine in 2023. I called customer service explaining that I expected to pay $3.99 a month as advertised, not $39.99 for the year. I immediately cancelled my subscription as it over drafted my account. After explaining I simply got a sorry and they are waiting out the full 10 days to refund my account.
When I purchased ring it advertised that I can see and talk to the person by the door, suddenly they changed the policy to pay for this service, this is a 100% deception to consumer, in my opinion this ring business is worthless and the $200.00 paid for is waste of money.
Take my advise do not buy.
Hi Al,
A Ring Protect Plan is not required to use your Ring products. Our optional Protect Plans allow you to access/download/share past Ring videos. Without this service, you'll still receive real-time video alerts on your smartphone as well as have access to Live View. If you'd like to discuss how things work or if you feel your Ring device isn't working as intended, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly via email.

I have a ring doorbell, and have had problems with it since i first installed it. Calling customer service is a joke. You will be on hold for at least 20 minutes before you talk to someone. After explaining your issue, you will be put on hold again. After 40 minutes on being on hold they will suggest doing a factory reset of the device and state they will monitor the device for a few days. They have replaced my device once and the problem still was not resolved. My battery goes from 100% charge to 10% in just three weeks. I was told that that battery lasted six months. They are now blaming the battery on using Live View. They state every time you use Live View your battery will be decreased 10%. So obviously the device is not designed to monitor activity ion real time. I think i will just use it as a doorbell in the future and buy a REAL monitoring device.
Bought a Ring Doorbell and was dead. Bought another and it only worked half the time. Luckily, I bought these through Amazon so I was refunded immediately. Bought three cameras and one was defective. Decided, to return all product and it has been about three weeks since I returned them with RMA's and tracking and still no refund to my credit card. Even emailed with CEO and Founder Jamie (*******@ring.com) and he answered immediately and was initially helpful but when it came to help in obtaining my refund, Jamie's answer was generic with no assistance. I would not buy this product!

Ring doorbells are temperamental and work when they choose. Their wifi connection is dodgey and their app is totally rubbish. It just texted me codes that it did not recognize. Save yourself the trouble and buy something else. The doorbell is an overpriced piece of s8&$
Ring driveway camera my ring driveway camera is a very nice new thing when it works I always have to constantly check it weekly especially over the weekend if not I may check it from work on Monday and its off-line. It seems to get thrown off line every week or two and Ive called customer service plenty of times and it shows that is working fine which is it just constantly gets thrown off mine
Hi Greg,
Your Ring should hold a stable connection to your network. There are a variety of circumstances that can cause your Ring device to lose its connectivity. Temporarily loss of power, a wire in your router setup temporarily comes loose, you change your Wi-Fi network password, or your Ring device is suffering from low power due to a discharged battery. I would double check all of these things to be sure. Feel free to reach out to me directly as well should you have any further questions or concerns or need assistance with anything!

However we have had it a year and it has not worked for even 4 full weeks. When I call customer service they say can walk us through to fix but we have to be there. The whole reason we bought it because they advertised to see what is going on when you are not there! We bought for our Florida home. We live in Illinois. We set it up it works... then doesn't. We wait til the next time we are there. Fix it and then. Not working again. They walk us through and still only works about a week or two and stops again. I told them love it when it works but we got a lemon. They do not honor the lemon law and replace. So I guess they do not back their product!

I am a network engineer and have enterpise-class WiFi. My Ring devices (especially the doorbell) are extremely problematic and unreliable. I have no problems with over 50 other active network devices. Contacting support is useless because all they do is attempt to shift blame to the home network. They should literally go back to the drawing board for these products.
My older ring spotlight cam outdoor worked much better at picking up motion then both of the newer models both plus version and pro version had better clarity but did not pick up as much motion as my older camera so I took the new ones back and hooked my old one back up and now it records motion more frequently than the newer ones did,
Answer: Most annoying product ever. Doesn't work but almost does. This makes you constantly fool with it thinking you maybe possibly actually got it to do something similar to what they advertise. But in the end you will be back to square one with a pricey piece of crap! Then after hrs of listening to customer services b. S. you realize you've been had. But it doesn't end there. You end up on sites like this trying to help others from making the same mistake. And trying to figure out when this hell will end!
Answer: It does not work the way it is presented on T. V. The inability to immediately respond "LIVE" to an event renders it useless.
Ring has a rating of 1.3 stars from 773 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Ring most frequently mention customer service, door bell and live view. Ring ranks 166th among Home Security sites.
