Service was absolutely terrible and not helpful at all. I purchased insurance because they recommended it only for the "insurance" to not cover when I needed to change my airport landing. Then I would be required to pay 200 dollars extra if I cancelled this flight or be stuck in an unknown city three hours from my destination. A rip off if I've seen any. Better off paying three the airline directly.
Let me start by saying I never would've found this rate without a travel engine like Priceline. My room rate was very good compared to normal prices and was exactly what I could afford. On the other hand Priceline charged me 63% of the total room cost in fees and services. When I compare this to what the hotel would've charged, the hotel would charge 19%. So obviously this is how Priceline makes money on people who book with them. I understand making a profit but this was exorbitant and the only reason I booked was because I had a little time to search and it still ended up being a decent price. I absolutely WILL NOT use Priceline again
I was mainly using this service for getting hotel bookings and rent a car, usually on the same travel occasions. The repetitive search with some intervals of time sometimes helps to get better prices on the desired items.
I haven't had any bad experiences with Priceline, but they haven't beaten any prices I've seen elsewhere. The only good thing is being able to cancel within 24 hrs - which most airlines/companies are now allowing. So what's the *big* deal about Priceline?
Priceline was one of the first players in discount travel, and there is a reason it continues to be among the top players in the industry. The ability to "name your price" can save an enormous amount for those customers who have significant flexibility on flight times and airline selection. When finding the absolute lowest price for a ticket is paramount, Priceline delivers.
I have been with Priceline for over 10 years and I do all my domestic flights, hotels, cruises through them. However in the last 2-2.5 years their operations has definitely taken a hit. Most of the hotels that I have booked through them are way below standard and have been marked by them as 3.5 stars.
Today was the worst. I am spending my night in a motel with my 8 year old which I booked because it was marked a 3.5 star hotel. When I called the customer service to get my $ back, I was asked to leave the property at midnight with my kid. Which meant booking another property, paying more for another Uber. So for a shoddy work that their team did of misrepresentation of the star rating, the customer should suffer. I am done with Priceline.
Plus their customer service department is based in some country where labor is cheap and they do not understand a customer centric approach. Soft skills can be taught, not empathy and culture.
Please do not book hotels through them. They are misleading in their star ratings. And definitely do not book their express deals where you do not know what you are booking, can't read reviews etc.
Unable to upload photos & videos here- some technical glitch, but please read the reviews on the hotel's site on google - StaySure, Seatac Airport (shikha sinha or shiksi)
Aweful experience. Promised a cancellation policy and called mutliple times and they never followed up or called back. For a month they claimed they were calling the hotel to get our money back and never did...completely disatisfiedl.
While my issue is ultimately a billing issue with the Rental Car agency, the reservation was made via Priceline and they refuse to stand behind the statements (FAQ) made in the reservation. They state that because payment was made to the rental agency instead of Priceline, they are not responsible or cannot facilitate refund from the rental agency.
I believe that if your company is promoting / taking reservations on behalf of a 3rd party, and in the FAQ of the reservation you have made statements, you should support the customer and/or attempt to resolve issues with the travel company (car rental in this case).
Advantage Rent a Car in Las Vegas charged me after returning the car EARLY (by 2 hours) because they stated it changed from a WEEEKLY rental rate to a higher DAILY rental rate. Despite Priceline FAQ stating that "you can return you rental car early".
Do not use Advantage Rent a Car and do not book travel from Priceline as they provide no recourse for fraudulent billing by 3rd party.
I had booked a Queen Suite with 2 queen beds and sofa bed well in advance, expecting to have a comfortable stay. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the room I had booked was unavailable, and I was instead given a standard queen room which did not meet my expectations or the standard I had paid for. This was not the experience I anticipated, and it caused considerable inconvenience as the roll away bed provided was so uncomfortable as the springs were stabing the back, particularly because I had chosen your hotel specifically for the amenities and comfort promised with the queen suite. We were told to move the next day to our booked room but we are out the whole day and this was only a 2 days stay so it was too much hassle. Unfortunately, the hotel did not meet our expectations at all. Upon arriving back i got connected with Priceline and was not told by customer service that I cannot be compensated since I did not contact them at the every moment when my room was not available. This is the first time I had used Priceline and will be my last.
First, made reservations at Kittyhawk Holiday Inn Express weeks before hurricane Debby.
When became clear that the storm would impact our stay, I tried to change the dates. The hotel manager stated I would need to contact Priceline to make changes.
The rep. At Priceline informed me that I would need to cancel to non-refundable stay ($2100)and re-book for the dates I would like to stay.
Then I was directed to call Get A Room and that they would be able to assist me. A recording told me to contact the hotel directly, which has not worked 3 times today.
Stay away from Priceline, unless you enjoy a very good run around.
I have contacted Customer Service numerous times by phone and email. Per the hotel I stayed at, I am entitled to a one-night refund. I must go through Priceline for the refund. Priceline claims their "Partner" cannot get a hold of the hotel, even though the front desk always answers their phone. I will never use Priceline again.
Priceline are ungodly thieves! I had made reservations recently on July 6th, 2024, through Priceline to travel from Pensacola, Florida, to Kalispell, Montana on August 14-18,2024. But because of wrong information I had been provided by a music store about the event I wanted to attend, I needed to cancel my trip 36 hours later. I was able to get a full refund from United Airlines, American Airlines and Travelodge by Wyndham, but Priceline and Alamo refused to refund a single penny of the $635 they charged me for renting an economy car for 4-days. I trusted Priceline but they cheated me along with Alamo car rental. My reservations were made 5-weeks in advance. There is absolutely no reason for Priceline and Alamo to be that stubborn to refund a customer's money. The only reason is plain old ungodly greed. I contacted Priceline multiple times and kindly asked them to refund most of my money. The woman on the phone from Priceline lied to me, promising me a partial refund, but I never received it. I don't think she knew what she was doing. I could barely understand her because she could hardly speak English. I also spoke with a manager and she promised to contact Alamo about refunding my money. She promised that someone would get back to me within 10 days, but no one ever did. She lied too. These people are shady! I kindly told Priceline that I don't mind paying Alamo a reasonable penalty for cancelling within 48 hours, but Priceline and Alamo refused to cooperate. Priceline couldn't care less about ethics. They horribly mistreat people, financially taking advantage of their customers. BEWARE of Priceline, they are dirty thieves! Priceline and Alamo defrauded me out of $635. I will NEVER use Priceline or Alamo again!
I have used Priceline to book several times and have gotten mixed results. There has been very few hotel stays that were good. Home2Suites, DoubleTree, Holiday Inns were all run down hotels with awful smells throughout the hotels, noisy, and not as clean as described. They want to offer Express Deals and you end up at a dump of a hotel. They also don't offer a refund on Express Deals no matter how bad your stay is. Will never use again because like I said I have already discovered which hotels listed by Priceline are dumps.
Due to retirement, I now need to update my email address. Being a loyal Priceline customer, I reached certain VIP status and my travel history has value. Priceline will not let me set up a new email to preserve this status that I earned, effectively firing me after 20+ years. Loyalty only works one way with Priceline; plan accordingly.
This was the worst experience I have ever had with a booking site. Normally, I use Expedia and decided to try Priceline because it was recommended to me. Well I will never use this misleading site again! I am very disappointed that no accommodations could be made to assist me in correcting an issue that their site fraudulently caused! First, you lock me into a booking where no changes could be made on top of booking me at the wrong hotel when your link for the specific hotel I chose which was supposed to be the correct link but after I made my payment is when I realized that the link was incorrect. However, charges will be disputed because of this fraudulent mess!
We flew to Houston and I had bundled the airfare and car together. When we arrived we called the number that I was told. After 4 text messages and 8 phone calls they finally answered to tell us there were no cars left. We arrived at 5 pm so it was not late. I told him I didn't understand as they had our reservation and why didn't we have a car. He said don't know and call priceline and hung up. So, I called Priceline after a 20 minute wait on hold they said book another car in the same catagory and the sent me a link to fill out the form. After going to 4 car rental companys all the small cars were gone. We booked the next size up in car. We ended up paying $330 to rent a car. When I got home I filled out the form and two days later got a email that it was rejected, because the class So I called, After 45 minutes on hold I got a lady that said I have to call the car rental people and get my money back from them. I said NO I pay Priceline. I was transfered to another person and they gave me a refund of $69 dollars and said that was the portion of the car. REALLY SCAM!
Booked a trip with them tried to cancel and only one flight was refundable or changeable thru United airlines. I will never use priceline or american airlines again. All of the working said fully refundable
The customer service is absolutely terrible. I was charged an additional $500 due to one of their agents filling out my flight reservation incorrectly. They acknowledged their mistake, but continue to give me the run around anytime I call. During one of our calls, they put me on hold for 2 hours. I found out later that particular department was closed for the day so the agent had essentially transferred me to a dead line. It's been 3 months with no refund and no valid reason why. I strongly recommend saving yourself the headache by using ANY other travel service.
I used Priceline.com to choose a hotel with a free breakfast that would meet my strict dietary needs on my trip. I chose a hotel that was $20-30 more expensive than other hotels because it stated the hotel has "hot buffet breakfast". Woke up this morning to find that all they offer is hot waffles, which I cannot eat. I contacted Priceline.com's customer service and they told me that my receipt/itinerary doesn't guarantee hot breakfast. So the two pages leading up to booking the hotel that say "hot breakfast buffet" meant nothing and only the receipt after I had already paid said only "breakfast included". Priceline has pulled a bait and switch and refuses to rectify the situation. I've been using their service for years but now I think I'll be moving on.
The staffing is sorely inadequate at dollar and thrifty car rental in Denver. It is going to take up to three hours to pick up a PRE-PAID car. There are tons of people and three windows open! I'm traveling with my 84 year-old mother and this is just completely unacceptable! If these companies can't provide a reasonable experience, they should reduce their rentals until they can correct this mess! How about adding some kiosks?
Answer: The agreed to price is inclusive. I would look at dollar's website before renting from Priceline. There is no layer of protection from prcln.
Answer: With Price Line you may pay a reduced price. However, you get reduced services. Be prepared for hidden costs from the merchant as their ads on Price Line do not include their entire policy.
Answer: I'm not sure what you mean by "receive" the e-ticket. I've booked numerous times through priceline and other intermediaries, but have never received a ticket. I would suggest that you look at the itinerary that you've received from priceline and look for the Airline Confirmation Number (which may be a sequence of letters and or numbers depending on the airline). Then go to the airline's website and look up your flight itinerary. This process also varies by airline, but there should be some menu such as "My Trips" or other itinerary look up option. The airline should be able to find your itinerary based on your name and confirmation number. If your priceline itinerary contains an e-ticket number, you may be able to use that on the airline's website as well. If the airline has your itinerary, you're good to go. You'll be able to check in and get a boarding pass (electronic or print) 24 hours prior to your flight. If the airline has no record of you, then you've got a problem.
