After quitting a corporate job I thought I would sell my clothes and, well most anything of mine that would provide cash for luxury items. There is nothing I will not part with and offer unless it's family heirlooms.
I spent hours and hours and hours taking photos and turning my dining room into a Poshmark studio. I was very excited. Here's my experience...
Even though I had items with tags (current) styles, I was low-balled beyond belief. The worst part of Poshmark is that the "themed parties" host picks were so incredibly tacky that I found myself asking if this is the best, this is not for me. I tried selling designer bags, coats, and jeans for 50% to no avail. I was a social ninja also. On the site for hours and hours. Liking, sharing, and caring.
In summary, no quality buyers on this site. Waste of time!
I bought a bicycle jersey supposedly XL size and the true size was a M. I wrote to their Customer Service and they refused to make it right. They have no customer service skills and don't care about repeat business by selling an item that clearly didn't meet customer expectations or needs. They seem completely out of touch. Don't buy or sell anything through Poshmark. They are the worst.
Poshmark claims it does not allow returns, but that is not the case, as I just learned. I was selling a vintage item, and was very explicit about its age-related imperfections in my listing. It was immediately bought by a woman who somehow expected a 40-year-old item to look new, and who filed a claim against me. The real $#*! of it is that she "opened the case" at 1 a.m., and I had six hours to respond. So by the time I saw the messages in the morning, Poshmark had already found in her favor, allowing me no input. I've sent several messages to Poshmark, and get chirpy responses that in no way address the issues I'm raising. Better to stick with ebay.
I had purchased form this site in the past, and the experiences were varied at best.
Recently I paid for an item from a seller. The seller accepted my payment, marked the item shipped, and then informed me 2 days after the purchase that the item had already been sold on another site! I did not receive a refund, and in fact was being sent multiple emails from Poshmark to accept the shipment.
It took over seven days to recoup my money through PayPal.
Poshmark did NOT rectify this problem, and the seller was of no assistance either.
I will not purchase from this site again due to the lack of protection they offer.
I listed a Gucci purse for sale on Poshmark. I received an email saying that they removed my listing because it's counterfeit and to remove any other counterfeit listings I have on their site! The purse is not counterfeit and I resent the fact that they sent that email rather than asking me to provide proof of its authenticity. What a way to do business!
There is such a lure to the site with discounted labels and hard to find items. Unfortunately the lure ends there. Have purchased three items on their site now and each one has ended in a nightmare. 1. Sellers are slow to ship 2. The quality of your item is usually not as stated 3. Trying to get a refund or return is a mess. 4. It is very easy for a seller to accept your money then cancel your order and sell it to someone else. Poshmark has serious things to do to reign in their rogue sellers (there are a lot). If I wanted to misrepresent items and cheat people as a seller, I'd sign up for Poshmark and sell here. I've never had a positive transaction as a buyer here. Navigating their customer service is horrific. Also, sellers are terrible at communication and can block you. There is no seller accountability.
Finally, most items for sale are vastly overpriced.
The site is fine, but the shipping rates went up lately and they are honestly stupid. Anything you buy ends costing much more than if you buy it new to the original retailer. Such a waist of time, it used to be better but now just don't
I sold a pair of USED work boots. Customer complains that the soles are too worn. I explained they could be re soled by manufacture. She admits she should have asked for more pictures and it was her fault. Clearly the customer knows how Poshmark works and will approve any return for any reason. Poshmark approved her return Even though it should have been
This company has a return policy that harms customers. I bought jeans for my father that was not as described, not stretch when identified as being. We asked for a return within 5 days, nothing to do. They say the article was described as such. The waist is not stretch at all and it is a problem for my father who is 80 years old... I will never buy from this company. What a way to treat your customers, when we talk about clothes bought online, it's shameful
I bought a pair of shoes that was listed as "split suede" and when they came, they were felt fabric. Sent a dispute, with photos of the inside label that clearly said "Fabric Upper," but with an offer to negotiate price (felt is not as expensive as leather). Poshmark came back disallowing my request, with a curt "product was not misrepresented" response. Never again.
Followed all the rules for my Louis Vuitton Pallas BB. It was selling for about a week before I had a purchase. Went straight to the Post Office to wrap it and send it for the buyer to receive quickly.
A few hours after the buyer said they hit buy accidentally (which is impossible because you have to hit buy on two different screens and enter your payment info)
Then she said she would keep the purse if I would give to her for 1200 instead of the sale price of 1600, which is already below the 2300 I paid.
I said no, and then she said well the zipper is messed up (which it was not) and that she would be returning the purse.
Eight days later I have no money and no purse and posh customer support has not responded to any of my ten messages.
I'm going to take this to arbitration to get my money back.
Horrible don't use it
Searching on the postmark site drives me crazy because every time you change one variable you have to reset the whole site. It cannot remember anything. Also on my iPad after viewing an item it takes me back to the beginning of page 1 instead of going where I left off! How hard can it be?
I ordered a pair of boots. Paid for on 4/20/17. Today is 5/2/17. Still no boots. Ebay takes 2 to 3 days! I sell on Ebay. I have also sent questions on certain other items with NO RESPONSES from the sellers. On Ebay we always respond to questions. No good descriptions either. Like everyone thinks jeans size 3 is going to suffice! Crazy! I have messaged Poshmark twice now, once yesterday and once today as to where my boots are... no reply still... Never again!
If an order does not fit or it is the wrong color/material, you cannot return it. I was told they would not allow the return, would not refund my money and I should give it away or donate! Policies like this are unheard of in today's online marketplace. I am amazed Poshmark has been so successful.
I placed an order and my charge card was debited. Neither the product nor an updated response ever arrived so I checked my account on their website only to discover they had decided to cancel the order. The reason given was that their shipper does not deliver to my area. Courtesy would suggest they not accept my order in the first place or at a bare minimum they should have advised me of their decision to cancel. I would never have known had I not signed into their website.
At least the charge was refunded plus I now know not to deal with the company (this was my first and last experience). Now I know the reason for their horrible customer reviews.
I ordered a jersey for my son more than 2 weeks before Christmas. A week later and the package has not even been scanned to be shipped. I have tried to cancel the order to purchase elsewhere and, even though the policy on their website states that you can cancel after 7 days if your order hasn't gone out, when you try to cancel it now states that they have up to 10 days to ship. So I cannot cancel until 10 days have passed and yet, I still won't have in time for Christmas. They try to blame the slow mail but if the package hasn't even been scanned, how can it be the slow mail? What a f-ing scam! Oh, and you can't speak to anyone either. Don't waste your time with this site.
PoshMark charges over 20% which is outrageous and for the seller, offers no support or protection from Karen shoppers. I feel I was harassed by a shopper and retaliated against when I privately questioned the review that was given. The shoes I sold had a small wet spot on the insole from leather cleaner that spread during shipment apparently and the buyer suggested that I lied about the condition. The spots were not there when I shipped and I have pictures taken right before. When I questioned her, she downgraded the review to 1 star. PoshMark did nothing about the retaliation.I offered to take the shoes back but the buyer of course did not want that. The shoes were worth twice what she paid and I have no doubt she intended to re-list them for double. So she will probably make a huge profit while giving me a one star review to retaliate for my questioning her 4 star review.
Purchased red distressed sweater on small device that did not clearly show distressed areas of sweater. $40 worth of dissatisfaction that is trash can worthy only. During holidays did not open package until Christmas only to learn there is a 5 day return request policy. Totally unacceptable. The guarantee is you will be out the total cost of any items that do not meet your expectations if your are unable to instantly open the package & request a return slip within 5 days.
I made my first purchase on Poshmark, a pair of Brighton shoes. The seller did not disclose that the instep was abnormally narrow. When I received the shoes, they did not fit well and I wear Brighton all the time. I tried to return but Poshmark and the seller refused. Poshmark no longer responded and I'm stuck with a pair of shoes that does not fit. Terrible experience!
Purchased some jeans that didn't fit right. Contacted the seller. He said he would accept a return but wanted me to go thru Poshmark to process it. Fair enough. Poshmark would not assist in the return. Got two (so far) generic emails stating why they wouldn't help with the return.
Answer: You've got to be smart about shopping online these days. There are scammers wherever you go. That said, if you follow the guidelines and steer clear from trading, which most sites don't condone, then you'll be fine. I've purchased over 100+ items on poshmark and have sold over 90+ with complete success, with the exception of the one time I decided to trade... I've purchased low prices items before and received junk a couple times, but Poshmark ALWAYS refunded me! Maybe I'm super savvy, so here's what I always do: 1. Always checkout the seller's reviews. 2. Always ask if there are any flaws with used items. 3. Always ask if sizing is TTS: "true to size" 4. And most importantly, always ask if it's authentic (unless otherwise specified in the description) These 4 questions have always led me to receiving exactly what I wanted and at half the retail price! Plus, it's so much fun! I've made a considerable amount of income from it, while also adding a nice set of items to my own closet! Good luck out there!
Answer: I have received every item I have ever bought on poshmark. It arrived on time and was in the exact condtion as was promised and how it appeared in the pics.
Answer: Well yes she received the boots and probably didnt like them or they didnt fit etc. she is trying to get her money back by trying to re sell them for 70.00 however she would only get 56.00
Answer: It took a long time, but today Poshmark said they refunded the entire purchase amount plus shipping because the booties I ordered were misrepresented. It took About a month and a half. Two times they offered me small credits toward another Poshmark purchase. I filed a very well documented (12 pages of emails, screen shots of the ad and screen shots of dialogue between me and the seller, Kimology) fraud claim with my credit card company, and I emailed Poshmark's customer service to advise them. Two days later they told me they were refunding my money. We'll see if that happens. Poshmark's customer service is terrible, but persistence paid off. Best of luck to you!
Answer: Ask probing questions: non-smoker? Ever been dry cleaned? How worn is it? Cats? Etc
Answer: I have the total opposite reaction to this question. This mystery group that decides what the outcome will be is ridiculous. You can't talk to anyone, and my last attempt to get support through emails, took one month! Not a fan of learning who the good sellers are by trial and error...
Answer: She probably stalked the other seller's listing and found you commented on the item you purchased. So technically, yes they can see what you buy as long as you commented something on the purchased listing.
Answer: Be careful on posh because they do not have your back. There is a lot of scandalous people on posh. Be careful on ebay as well. I bought a Michael Kors set on ebay that was listed as excellent condition but it was stained and reeked of cigarette smoke. Ebay did not refund my money. They said since it wasn't listed as brand new with tags I was screwed. I was out $315. Who wants a handbag and wallet that smells like shit? I think twice before buying on Ebay since that experience. Shame on the dishonest seller and Ebay for allowing that behavior. Good Luck!
Answer: Have you sent an email to Poshmark support? I have before and they did respond
Answer: You unfortunately cannot return an item if it doesn't fit. It's best to ask the seller the measurements of the item, if they tell you the wrong measurements you can return it. If they will not give you the measurements then don't buy from them. I'm new to selling on Poshmark and I will allow people to return their items if they don't fit because I believe that's what's right, you will find other good sellers!
