I HAVE TRIED TO USE THEM FOR LEADS, THE LEADS COME IN, I GET CHARGED YET I DONT HAVE ACCESS TO THE LEAD INFO ON MY DASHBOARD TO REQUEST CREDITS IF APPROPRIATE. IT USED TO RUN WELL, NOW ITS JUST A SCAM. YOU CANNOT GET ANYONE FROM CUSTOMER SERVICE OR TECH SUPPORT ON THE PHONE AND YET THEY JUST KEEP CHARGING YOUR CREDIT CARD.
I think Nolo press is the best place to start for any legal dealing. I wrote my patent using Nolo Press and went to a Patent Lawyer to review and file it. It worked out!
I have unfortunately have gone through numerous real life lawyers who turned out to be absolutely awful. The last lawyer who I happened to respect and grateful for meeting told me 90% of lawyers out there do not know what they are doing. SO what value Nolo will bring is educating yourself first so that you are versed in what you are trying to deal with in legal arena. Questions to ask, what to watch out for... Nolo definitely does not replace a real human lawyer, but for basic things like incorporating, landlord tenant issues, etc. It is a great resource.
However, if you are going to litigation, still read and research as much as possible before you start interviewing lawyers. And you better have your intuition antenna out in full force when you do research and interview lawyers. Also do not trust a lot of rating system for lawyers unless they are negative. I have learned a painful way that you really need to read reviews on anyone/site before start engaging. Have in mind that some people are just plain negative which you can disregard, but you can ascertain the trend from site like this one!
You will save a lot of aggravation, money,
People do the math. There are no personal questions asked. General tap a button kinda answers and they miraculously fit you to a lawyer. I suspect this is a service paid by the very attorneys they are pushing to get more business. When I went back to ask for help on resolving the fact that they sent us to a corrupt lawyer who lies to us (have proof of lying thru an email even) they sent back to the same lawyer! There is nothing more going on on this site than lawyers paying a third party to funnel cases. Shame on NOLO. If you want a good lawyer for ANYTHING the number one thing to do is to go with a BIG multi lawyer firm. I guarantee the small time single lawyers here are here for a reason and it's to get desperate people to sign with them. Single lawyers don't have the money to go to court. Got it in writing from mine, that was obtained thru NOLO. Proceed at your own risk and blame no one but yourself going through NOLO. When things seem too good (or too easy) to be true they usually are. Go the harder, longer route and get a multi lawyer firm with enough money to actually do good for you. BTW, I've used NOLO a number of times and it's always a single lawyer firm I'm pushed off on.
I had a very bad experience with Katherine Winn attorney at Law in El Cajon, CA. She quoted me one price for a service, I paid thinking I was paying for the price we agreed upon only to realize after the fact that she charged me a lot more than the original price we had discussed. At no point did she indicate or communicate that her services were going to increase, and I was never given a fee agreement or breakdown of the additional charges. I have since reported her unethical practices to the State Bar. I too had originally thought she was a good attorney and wanted her to represent my case, however after dealing with this situation I wouldn't recommend BUYER BEWARE! I gave one star because I had to select a rating to move forward to post this review.
*** This site is horrible. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY! NO WAY to REACH a LIVE PERSON. My inquiry for help was NEVER responded to. I downloaded a very important NDA Form for my business, but found out THEIR FORM had a HUGE MISTAKE in it. Additionally, they did NOT include a VERY IMPORTANT CLAUSE like MOST NDA forms have. STAY AWAY from this site for ANY kind of E-Forms. It seems they try to cover too many 'bases' and DON'T FOCUS on ANYTHING in particular. ***
Callled about a jack pallet running over my foot by an employee at a grocery store. Dude straight up told me this is a waste of my time. I felt so neglected and helpless with this place
As a practicing attorney of 25 years this company, which is a division of Martindale-Hubble, a respected company, approached me regarding lead generation, promising valid auto accident leads at $66.50 each, which were shared between 3 attorneys at most, and a reasonable dispute policy. An initial starting deposit was made for $950.00 under pressure. It took 2 weeks to obtain copy of the terms and conditions of the program. The first lead was disputed, as the prospect was not looking for an attorney, but only advise. This was disputed, as it resulted from NOLO's poor platform for consumer/potential client inquiries. The disputed lease was denied. The next lead was disputed for the reason the person again was not looking for an attorney, which dispute was again denied. The next disputed and denied refund on a lead came from someone other than the prospect, who was not looking for an attorney. At no time did NOLO provide any transparency for the denial, nor will they refund back fees paid for the program upon demand. It is clear that NOLO is a fraudulent service provider that no attorney in America should do business with.
I would get leads from people just out of prison or seeking pro bono help. Most decent leads were usually from out my area and they would not give you credit for it even though they said they would.
When my Dad got sick, he & I decided to get his affairs in order. I elected to use Nolo Law's online creation software for quitclaim & trust docs. We purchased the quitclaim kit & the trust kit.
I produced 2 excellent quitclaim deeds to remove Dad's name from the 2-properties he own with his wife. This was easy and we were able to process everything into her name. We used the public record property tax record to get the legal description of the properties.
Note that if you have a mobile home you will need 2-property descriptors. One for the land, if you own it, and one for the trailer itself. If it is a double wide, you'll need an additional descriptor for both halves of the home (L & R sides).
Unfortunately, my Dad passed away before we could complete the process. The trust document software is cumbersome and stressful to edit. It's been over a year & we are still unable to remove Dad's name for the non-finalized document. We emailed Nolo & they claimed to have unlocked it, but to date, we've been unable to edit.
We only found out this past month, when we took the quitclaim deeds to the court house that we'd have to edit the descriptors of the 2-properties, i. E., one for the land and the other for the 2-parts of the mobile home. So we needed to add 2-seperate descriptors for the trailer. We did this and it was easy.
If I could go back, I probably would not use Nolo law, because it is such a headache to edit simple mistakes, add info, & finalize the doc. There is no real customer services for this site regardless of what they say & certainly no tech support.
DONT' ADVERTISE WITH NOLO. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY, CONTINAULLY CHARGE YOU AND WHEN THE BAD LEADS KEEP COMING AND YOU TRY TO GET A REFUND THEY SAY IT DOES NOT FIT INTO THEIR REFUND POLICY. WHICH THEY NEVER GAVE US.
THE SALES REP IS RUDE AND MANAGER GIVES YOU LIP SERVICE YET NEVER FOLLOWS UP AFTER.
TOTALY DISAPPOINTMENT... WASTE OF MONEY
Zero working phone numbers for 20 leads I paid for. They do not refund your money, just give you credit for bad leads to continue.
Lawyers do not buy leads, leads are fake. No existing or entered by a bot. Nolo will refuse to give credit for fake leads.
Did not ask to contact a attorney, it contacted the previous crook that took my case. I wants to ask a question then it sent my information to the crook with his corvette.
These people are true charlatans. Warning to Attorney's: don't waste your time with their lies and deceit. You get little if any of what they promise. Be warned.
I had a simple question I tried to ask about home invasion laws. My husband and I disagreed on whether or not a warning shot was legally required if someone breaks in and you have to use force to deter or stop them. I was treated like a criminal. The secretary couldn't or actually wouldn't proceed to even tell me to find another site without my information. I had to answer how long my case was pending. I told her it was just a yes or no question. She could have told me she was clueless or legally couldn't answer my question since she wasn't licensed (which is bull crud). Most likely she didn't know. I am going to be awful upset if I get charged for a service I Even Ben Franklin would opt to represent himself than hire these people. I have a headache from banging my head against the wall so to speak. That's pain and suffering I think. OH NOW I HAVE TO LET THEM HAVE ACCESS TO MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT TO WRITE A REVIEW. Just lemme copy and paste
The article: "Put your employer on notice of your disability with a reasonable accommodation letter" written by Judge Guerin is completely incorrect. At no time is an employee to EVER state what their disability is when requesting accommodations. They are to state as such, "I have a disability which requires the following accommodations." That's it. The employer may wish to request doctor proof but then the doctor only need state: "I affirm/deny that my patient has a disability which requires the accommodations requested." ANY request for specific disability violates the ADA, and HIPPA. Then the employer must provide such accommodations if they are reasonable, dont change the official nature of the business, or cause an undue hardship on the establishment.
Harvard and Corenell state that Judges are rarely well versed in disability rights and are apt to be ingrained in shallow knowledge. She appears to be one. I suggest they read Harvard's letter on disability rights, housing and mental illness as it covers the information this judge is lacking, as does the ADA, but this judge has not read it with understanding apparently.
Good grief the information given was just scarey! Do NOT go to NOLO for quick advice it is sorely wrong
WORTHLESS WEBSITE Completely worthless. Inquired about litigation, have not heard back. Stated they emailed out info to litegation attorney, contacted attorney they stated had not I didnt see any emails or any information regarding this
I work for the marketing team at a law firm in Houston. We hired Martindale-Nolo to help find us P.I. Leads in Texas. It was a disaster that brought our P.I. Campaign to a halt.
1. The dashboard was broken from the start. I notified the sales rep right away. No ticket was created.
2. After several days, the dashboard was still not working. I notified the sales rep. No ticket was created.
3. After a few more days, the dashboard was still not working. The sales rep deferred responsibility to the account manager (whom I had still not met). No ticket was created.
4. I had a scheduled onboarding call with the account manager, where they explained that the dashboard must be functioning to complete the onboarding call. Why would the sales rep advise me to schedule this call knowing that the dashboard wasn't working. And still no ticket was submitted to fix the dashboard.
5. Most of the leads are unqualified for myriad reasons. Many had bad contact info, some were out of our practice area, one said he wasn't looking for an attorney.
6. The account manager said she'd call me regarding problems with my request for credit based on bad leads (since we still had no access to the dashboard), no call came. She said she'd call the next day, no call came. No email. Nothing.
7. It took several weeks to get the dashboard working, and when it was finally fixed, I wasn't notified until I complained.
8. Disputed leads were denied a refund despite obvious bad contact information. One of these leads was a man but a woman would answer the phone and say that we had the wrong number. They even denied a refund for the person that said they weren't looking for an attorney.
9. No action regarding the review of the bulk of the disputed leads. We were unable to dispute these leads on the dashboard because it wasn't functioning for most of the month-long campaign.
10. I demanded a complete refund. The account manager said that the only person that can approve a refund just left for vacation and wouldn't be back for a couple of weeks. There was no follow-up from the account manager, nor was I contacted by this key person in Martindale, that alone holds the power to approve refunds.
The only thing Martindale has done flawlessly is take our money.
I personally use Nolo for most of my legal questions. It is a great site to get ideas about areas of law.
I'm just a consumer. I wanted a book on a certain legal subject. I went to Nolo Press. Now, Nolo used to publish real books on paper. They no longer do that cause publishing with electricity and software is making them a FORTUNE.NO MORE REAL BOOKS! No paper, no ink! You just keep book on CD, or---here's one even better--go to blogs where students, ect go and PUBLISH THE WHOLE BOOK ONLINE. ON THE DARK WEB! Give it to Anonymous(the hackers) or Pirate Bay. WHY NOT. You are paying maybe thirty or 40 bucks for a copy made of ******* *******! Think about it! HEY, SENIORS, NO MORE REAL BOOKS.(That sure will make book reading seniors happy! Our eyes will DRY OUT EVEN WORSE. Being on screens all the time. Hooray!)Basically if you value real publishing companies, Nolo is a bad idea. BUT YOU LAW STUDENTS can do this: go to Nolo together, in a true "Student Union,"buy and copy Law books, by buying one between all,, and copying to a hundred students at a time.---yeah, split cost of copying.IF NOLO has REAL LAW, you'll gradually get much cheaper "law books."IF NOLO is "Law-Light"you'll find out. BUT from reviews of Nolo, we read here, Nolo has a BAD REP already. You know what the joke is abouL"Lawyers and sharks---- one breathes water, one breathes air, only difference.".
Nolo has a rating of 1.6 stars from 90 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Nolo most frequently mention customer service, bad leads and phone number. Nolo ranks 72nd among Legal Documents sites.
