Would have loved to have seen more about my native American ancestry that showed up on another site!
Most of my experiences were exciting. The daily input from other trees was sometimes good, other times very spaced or not related to the person in question. The ease of use and guidance are rewarding. The major deterrent is the cost of the yearly subscriptions. They cost 80% of my fortnightly pension, so unreasonable pricing. I only join when the offers to return are within my reach. More than 80% discount is terrific.
MyHeritage's interface is much easier to add family members than that of Ancestry or Family Tree Maker. We have been using this application for 2-1/2 years now and have only seen a couple of issues, which were resolved by the team at MyHeritage. So this means they listen to the customers, a great way to gain confidence.
I who is on the verge to reduce my tree should it find easier to erate more than one item at a time.
I have enjoyed using Family Heritage immensely. I have been able to add to many branches of my family trees. The cost is reasonable on a sale. I do get annoyed when it says "You've reached or maximum for this area today." What?! I also wish it would sync with Family Search. It's very time consuming to transfer info to Family Search, and if I'm adding to the base of Heritage, they should let me add to my base in Family Search.
As a long time member of My Heritage i couldnt be happier with this company. Very helpful, always advancing with their dna results. Very easy to contact if need be. Customer service is Outstanding

After 10 years as a member of the MyHeritage community, I can affirm that it is the best Genealogy page that exists. Excellent tools, plugins and printing options, combined with unparalleled customer service.
It has provided many DNA matches in Norway. This is a great help to verify ancestors that are difficult to verify with records.
My Heritage send many helpful emails to grow my family tree 🌳 But you do need a lot of time to go through them.
You changed yr mind from the first download to the second so how can I be sure what the actual truth is.Very disappointing
Except for those I already know about, I haven't found anyone as close as I grandparent. However, I found cousins as close as great grandparents and made connection at times with new relatives that are now friends. I have the top level membership, it may be pricey, but worth it. The amount of information on family links is amazing. Add geni.com into the mix, which is coupled with MyHeritage, and the information blossoms! I've been able to expand my family tree to over three fold and it's still growing - that's from about the 35 I knew about. The census records, the marriage and death certificates, newspapers, and all the extras - Fascinating! I jokingly refer to myself as an 'old geezer'. Topping 80, I no longer had the ability to reach out to my parents, aunts or uncles for information. I had many gaps in my family relationships, MyHeritage has filled in many of those gaps.
I've used My Heritage for about three years and have had a lot of success in building my family tree and finding information and matching information on my ancestors. I like that they add more data periodically. I have also done the DNA tests from My Heritage and found a few cousins I didn't know about. I don't really pay much attention to matches that come back with the really low percentage of accuracy, so I haven't dug into those.
Great research tools to find more information than I expected to find about my family history and stories to be able to hear about relatives that were way before I was born and their journey that led to me being here on this earth. Also I'm always surprised on how some of them have similar attributes either in jobs and family that many of us currently have in common.
Overall, I am impressed with the smart searches to dig up many different sources, mostly relating to my family tree and helping me build an accurate, complete tree. The suggestions are helpful and a reminder to go in and check out these smart finds and incorporate the info or disregard it. I like the system and the fullness it brings to the table. The consistency checker is also a cool tool to keep things straight.
Great platform! Powerful functions and features! May be i am not aware of it, but to search according to fields like birthplace or place of death etc. would be very helpful.
Over all MyHeritage allows people to construct and/or import an existing family tree easily. The site is pretty easy to use and the help files are quite useful. One thing that I find disappointing is that the suggestions/hints provided seem to promote other peoples family trees above the links to vital records. While I find other people's research useful in furthering my research, I'm a trust, but verify kind of person. I have found too many errors in other people's research to just not verify the information.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan and fellow users, In regards to the FTB not working, I may have found a solution, please follow these directions. Please right click on the FTB icon on your desktop, and click on 'Properties': Once you have opened the 'Properties' menu then click on the 'Compatibility' tab: If the field "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" is checked, and it says below "Windows 7", uncheck the box. Dear Orley,
Thank you for your feedback.
We understand your disappointment about not being able to assign admin status to family members who are ready to help maintain your tree. Collaboration is an important aspect of building a family history, and your concern is valid.
