Literally no no one needs to go through this sh*tty program. I hate where it pulls you back when you only get fricken one wrong. No real human even benefits from the stupid mechanics of this site. The whole site is just a rip off so teachers can be lazy. Its is only good at turning youthful students into old Karens! Don't ever use!

I am a fifth-grade student at Porcupine Plain Comprehensive School. I just immigrated to Canada from China and am still learning English. The teacher asked us to do IXL. I want to say that this is really one of the worst platforms I have ever used. 1. No explanation at all, no learning
IXL just lets you do questions. After you finish the wrong questions, it only tells you whether you are right or wrong. It does not explain why you are wrong at all, and there is no hint to help you understand the questions. I did so many questions, but I didn't learn anything except knowing the answers. It's like doing meaningless repetitive labor. The more I do, the more I feel that I don't understand anything. 2. The score system is maddening
I got a question wrong and my score dropped a lot at once. I got more than a dozen questions right, and my score didn't increase much. I got a wrong question and it dropped back directly, and my mood collapsed instantly. After doing it for so long, the score went up and down, and there was no way to see any progress. The whole system is punishing you, so I don't want to open it again. 3. It is totally unsuitable for new immigrants and is not helpful at all
I just arrived in Canada and my English is not good enough. I can't understand the questions, but IXL doesn't take these into consideration at all. The questions are thrown to me directly, not only without translation, but also without voice prompts. I can't keep up at all. I just guessed when doing the questions, and all I learned in the end was failure and anxiety. 4. There are a lot of technical problems when using it
I used an Apple computer to do IXL, and I encountered technical problems every time, which was really crazy! The page loads slowly, often gets stuck, and has no response when clicking. I often need to reload the webpage, which makes me have to start over every time, wasting a lot of time. Each operation is very troublesome and I can't complete the task smoothly at all. 5. There is no motivation, which makes people want to give up
You get the questions right, but there is no encouragement at all, not even a "well done". Even if the score improves a little, there is no positive feedback, and it feels like you are not valued at all. Every day when I open IXL, I just do questions, lose points, do questions again, and lose points again. I can't see any progress at all. I did the exercises to learn something, but I only learned anxiety and self-doubt. 6. The fees are so high, it's totally not worth it!
The fees of this platform are ridiculously high, and it's totally not worth the price. There are no video teaching, no interactive explanation, just a bunch of rigid questions, which can't be compared with other free or cheap platforms. What are you paying for? It's just a waste of money and time. 7. IXL makes people hate studying more and more
What makes me most angry is that IXL not only did not improve my grades, but made me hate studying more and more. The process of doing the exercises is not pleasant at all, and I have no interest and motivation at all. It only makes me feel that "I am not doing well" and I have no sense of accomplishment. Conclusion: I don't recommend IXL to any students at all, especially those who have just arrived in Canada like me and whose English is not very good. Not only does it not help, but it makes you feel worse and lose confidence the more you do. If you really want to learn something, find a platform that can really help you. IXL is definitely not for you. Additional reminder: Don't waste time and money on IXL anymore! There are many better platforms like Khan Academy, Duolingo or Prodigy. They are more suitable for students and can really help you improve. IXL is a scam, don't let it waste your precious time.

I'm going to be blunt. IXL is not enjoyable in the least. Its SmartScore is not understandable and unfair, and the explanations are wordy and not helpful, if you even take time to read them they should be more like bullet points. There are even multiple petitions to ban it and I would suggest signing all of them as someone who is probably ADHD. It should be based on quality, not quantity instead of vise versa.

I spend hours and hours on this damn point system to get to 100, which by the way, is unfair in all standards, and when I make a mistake, it drops 20 POINTS! Like, WHAT THE HELL, IXL? I've had to answer like 50 questions because it gives me completely unrelated things like if an ant eats 400 grams how big is the sun WHAT IS THIS? And the worst part is, it takes up WAY too much time! Like, I got S*** to do other than have a MENTAL BREAKDOWN OVER A GODDAMN MATH QUESTION IN LIFE! And I'm not even bad at math! I'm in NINTH GRADE LEVEL MATH
The questions also scale from how much is 2t+2t and the next questions is like 5(7y+23+8986)=? 1 star. Do NOT recommend unless you want to have as much rage and hatred as Satan himself.

So, I'm having a nice elementary school and then IXL comes in. This site IS SOOO BORING. I'd rather do a Blooket ALL DAY. At the end of the year the teachers give us cards and say, "Write down what you didn't like this year." We've been doing IXL since 1st grade and every year I've said IXL. And I'm in 5th grade so that wasn't a short time either. ONE STAR EASILY IF THERE WAS NO STARS THAT WOULD BE WHAT I USED.

It makes people cry hard which I hate to cry some teachers like to lie and tell you that IXL is good but sue them nope is bad as heck it makes teens break laws and break their laptop so I highly suggest making your kid quit IXL and do a peaceful protest by not doing their IXL work but it probably make your teacher call both of your parents. So please stop doing this silly app and middle schoolers don't forget to protest unfair homework stress. Go to your parents NOW

I am a top student in my class. I take geometry in 8th grade because its an advanced class. The point system is unfair and makes me want to jump off a bridge for wasting my time. I had to do 10 ixls in half a week and the awful point system makes it so it takes 30 minutes for each ixl. That is 5 hours of mind numbing negative reinforcement and not even engaging work. To do in 3 days.

IXL is torture I don't know what FR#CKING DEVIL made the hellhole you get punished for getting questions wrong which is evil I hate you i'd rather marry Hitler than do as much as hold the door for you.

It is boring pls ban now everyone hates it reviews are terrible just ban or I gonna quit school. It is'nt necessary but at my school it is our life pls ban and shut it down.

IXL made me lose most of my humor and happiness it's so repetitive and you lose so much points when one question wrong but for some reason YOU GET 1-2 POINTS WHEN OVER 80 SCORE?! You lose like 12 points in one wrong at that point my teacher assigned us 30 IXLS TO DO IN 2 WEEKS this app is for SUFFER and DEPRESSION, stress, makes you mad and kills you in the inside.

It is a terrible platform should be removed It is infuriating for most people and the people who like it are teachers who don't care.

I had in math i had the exact same answer as it marked and it marked it wrong. Terrible website man i hate and there are no way someone can redeem themselves after getting it wrong and also it is one of the only apps the make have no confidence in myself

Im not even lying ok, and im a student in grade 9. I am the top student in my grade so there is no reason for the excuse that, "Oh, this person's just badly academically educated, that's why IXL doesn't work for her." Its not let me tell you up that straight. My school which has 1000 students trialed IXL and left it out 2 weeks after. IXL makes me literally want to kill my self and jump off a bride cuz it's absolutely hideously atrocious. I actually have FUN doing Cambridge Math Books which are like 16 centimetres thick. If my computer breaks don't blame me. Blame IXL

Ixl has terrible point systems, causes anxiety and depression, uses repitition instead of teaching a better way, and doesn't give second chances. It caused frustration and anger problems for my child.

IXL sucks let's all be honest after school I go home after my 7-hour school to relax then I remember I can't I have to do IXL I spend at least 3.5 hours on IXL weekly oh and the points part is rigged they give you 10 points if you get it right but if you make one tiny little misclick it takes 13 points and I have severe anger issues so I slap myself rip my hair out and punch myself over this stupid website it's the reason I have a 0% in my math class.

IXL is a fine learning app but the way they frase some of their words are infuriating for kids and the challenge zone questions jump up to a whole different level that isn't fair for the childs knowledge not forgetting the fact that you get about 2 points per question in the 70 and 80 but if you get one wrong it penalizes by 10 the point system is the worst part cause it ruins the child's self esteem
