Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
They disabled my account for no reason and when you ask why so you can make corrections to your post They sent me a link to the TS & Guidelines that doesn't specifically state how my job post was in violation.
I liked Indeed as a job seeker, but now that I'm the employer, They are crap. Whoever's their close competition I will support them. I advise you to try Monster, Zip Recruiter, or Glassdoor, anybody but indeed. Pass the word. There are a bunch of similar reviews; can't be the employers it's Indeed.
After successfully loading two legitimate job adverts, making sure the billing was correct and receiving many responses Indeed suddenly suspended our business account. I logged two appeals and submitted Company verification documents to them on two separate occasions. I called the call centre and spoke to them on three different occasions. We have just been rejected again. We have many prospective candidates who we cant reach out to. Its been over two weeks of back and forth and I dont' know where to turn next.
I'm an independent recruiter hired by a company looking for candidates for nurseries. I posted numerous ads in which there was no issues, yet today my account has been disabled due to one of my ads was deemed not consistent. This is completely unfair as I have had no explanation or opportunity to alter the job post myself. I have a limited amount of time to gather candidates for this company and disabling my account without any explanation has only left my candidates with no reply and stopped my active searches for these candidates due to all my job posts being closed. This is beyond unprofessional and seriously need to consider fixing this system.
Have been looking forward to using Indeed to fill a position, finally attempted to post ad today and received an email that my account had been disabled. Indeed, I am frustrated but I need your help desperately. Please respond and let me know what I can do so I may post this job! Thank you!
Hi Heidi, it appears your account is currently undergoing our standard review process. To protect job seekers and employers like yourself, we review every account created on Indeed. To move forward with the review process, please complete the appeal form provided in your Indeed account. You can access the appeal form by visiting www.indeed.com/hire and signing in with your email address and password. Once there, you’ll see a link to the appeal form. Please note that the review process typically takes 1 to 3 business days and our team will contact you when they have an update, or if they need additional information. If you have issues with this process please follow up with us at socialcare@indeed.com.
My account was disabled without any warning or information as to why. I urgently need to hire a few positions and I had all my job descriptions saved in indeed which are now gone and will take so long to rewrite.

I spent a few hours of my day creating a job ad on Indeed (for the first time), then went back and decided to use most of their own templates since the position was for an administrative assistant. Even tried to pay more for increased exposure. Then received an email to verify our email, but the button did not work. Immediately received an email saying our account was shut down because it did not meet standards, but absolutely no explanation. I appealed it (where it only asked our name and contact information again, but no other info) and received an auto response saying we were reviewed and declined. It makes no sense. I used most of their own templates so I don't know what we could have violated.
Hi April, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. Unfortunately, after your account went through our standard review process which is done for all accounts on Indeed we were unable to show the job listings on our site. This is due to the business not aligning with Indeed's Job Posting Guidelines. We recommend reviewing our Job Posting Guidelines here for specific reasoning: https://indeed.force.com/employerSupport1/s/article/115005915763?language=en_US
My account was disabled a few minutes after I myself chose to shut down an offer. They disabled it without any kind of explanation and I am pretty sure I breached no guideline rule. Luckily for me, I was done using Indeed by the time they messed up with my account.
Hi Cathy, we have responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there so we can further assist.
I run our companies HR department and we were banned for no reason. Indeed just bans you and doesn't even tell you the guidelines you violated. It's a complete abuse of authority and negatively effects businesses
Hello Khaalid, thank you for reaching out and sharing this experience with us. We have responded to your review by private message.
I received many applications on indeed with my unpaid organic job post. I guess because I didn't want to pay for this specific job post they disconnected my account for no reason and told me it was final. I have sent in proof of ownership of my business, its a LEGIT business open for years with proof of customer base yet indeed doesn't want to allow a well performing job post unless its paid. -5 star review! The "appeal" process is a JOKE it took them 20 minutes to send a denial lol

Our company's account was disabled shortly after posting a job ad. I rejected the decision immediately! I then received a response so generic and denial with no details saying the decision was final. I have read through the terms and contract as well as posting guidelines. We have done nothing wrong and have no recourse. A company should not operate like this, I have everything to prove we are a legit company trying to hire people. Waste of time and money for all these employers.
Hi Dawn, it appears your account is going through our standard review process. It is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status that you're now experiencing. In this case, you will need to submit an appeal to our moderation team explaining that you will provide documentation for your business for review. This can be done by logging into your account, when you go to your dashboard you will see the option that states “appeal this decision” or “contact us” and you can begin filling out the form. Once it's submitted our moderation team will follow up with you directly within the next 24 hours via email from employersupport@indeed.com. Thank you!
We were looking for salespeople and my boss asked me to post a listing to recruit candidates. I did this, and then sent the required proof of insurance to verify the business.
Got an email that said my account was confirmed, so went in to check my job post, and to my horror found that the account was disabled with not explanation!
I spent a lot of time crafting the ad and going through the process and I'm very upset they wasted my time.
What a joke!

Indeed is the most ridiculous job site i've ever seen. Poor customer service as there is literally no customer service at all. All I am trying to do is look for help for our company amidst the pandemic which is already hard as it is. They proceed to disable my account under no fault to us from what I can see. I have read in depth all of their policies and see no issue. When asked all is said is "Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason." For NO reason? Indeed is a scam themselves they take your money and run. Very disrespectful. Not sure how they are legal.
I've tried to appeal through email, tried through facebook, and all I get is the same lame, cowardly runaround.
Hi Deanna. As previously mentioned in our prior messages, the account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not be able to show these openings in our search results. The account will remain in its current status.
As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have urgent hiring needs, we highly suggest utilizing other hiring services.

I opened an employer account on indeed in order to post a job for a delivery driver. I even bought a monthly subscription for $100 so I can contact potential candidates. As soon as they charged my credit card they disabled my account. They asked me to provide them with proof that showed the company name and address which I did. They then completely blocked my account.
Our dental laboratory business has been advertising on Indeed for over 6 years.
One week ago, without warning, Indeed disabled our account. We appealed the decision providing our incorporation documents and recent bills. We were denied the appeal without any explanation.
We called Customer Service and we were advised that there is no explanation, but that this sometimes just happens. They recommended us to open a new account.
We followed this suggestion and opened a new account. Within ten minutes, the new account was disabled as well.
We called again and the employee apologized and said he was embarrassed for the way the company is treating us. But he had no advice. I feel like I am stuck in a Kafka novel.
I am writing to help alert employers that Indeed can act in a capricious manner that is reminiscent of a monopoly.

We are quite dissatisfied with Indeed as an employer platform. I actually found MY current job on Indeed... and now, as the business has grown, we look to expand. When I placed the 1st job ad (a free one just to get us started) they find my "account" to be unsuitable? And disabled it. They sent a form email saying it was a final decision, no details, reasons or explanation. How can they expect to run their business that way? If we made a mistake, we are happy to understand and fix it. But we are a small business, just trying to expand and grow. I had great expectations that Indeed could help us - I guess I was wrong.
Hi Rob, we would love to provide some clarification here. All accounts and jobs go through our standard reviewing process before they can become fully active on our site. The account has gone through our reviewing process and our team has concluded that we will not be able to show these openings in our search results and the account will remain in its current status.
In addition, Indeed does not allow non-job postings. This includes, but is not limited to, training and education opportunities, franchising opportunities, multi-level marketing opportunities, jobseeker employment solicitation, expired jobs, and jobs which do not represent a specific employer vacancy.

This used to be a great company but had become a money grab. I spent some much time putting together the job post based on THEIR guidelines. After reviewing some of the candidates, I received this message with no further explanation!

Another inconsiderate site that draws people into wasting time creating accounts/posts, then deletes the post AND the account with 0 warning and no specific reasons. They allowed 1 appeal, which denied me. My asking what the problem/solution was resulted in vague "no further info will be given" type of lines that seem to be mostly automated.
UPDATE: They emailed here about their policy & after i gave into their picky document demands, they still deny my posts AND gimme the same vague/robotic lines. They probably only acted helpful by emailing here cause my bad review here is being seen by many. In my regular email, 1 of their useless replies said to call, & they were closed.
Trustpilot users say Indeed bans all non-paying users so they call in and are pitched a paying version. So indeed can indeed enjoy the bad reviews, & karma, they earn from this. This kinda stuff helped greatly hurt sites like ebay.

Wow Indeed... I'm hiring an additional admin person here in the office... I set the budget, hoping I'd get some qualified applicants... couldn't be further from it... after 24 hours, the only barely qualified applicant doesn't even have the qualifications I wrote down... they gave me a nonsense response such as views, clicks, etc... all I have to say is wow! And this cost me $99.52... these job boards are becoming such a scam!
Now, because of this, they're probably going to suspend my account just like they've become know for doing... we'll see...

Was looking for a retail job. I got so many job postings that I'm not interested in nor qualified for. Nursing jobs is one example. Medical reception jobs another one with minimum of 1 year experience required. Nowhere on my resume was this listed. Very bad also about using one's zip code and distances. Also, two few job notifications have postings of salaries, where the location is, etc. Good luck if you use them.

Tried many other places like LinkedIn, Glassdoor + even posting on Craigslist. Get the most candidates and best qualified candidates. It work well. Only glitch is you have to always communicate via Indeed masked email account even at the very final stages of process, these emails sometimes go to spam, which is frustrating.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. We'd be happy to assist you here in reviewing your resume and offering suggestions for applying to jobs on the site. Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
