Indeed has a rating of 1.5 stars from 978 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Indeed most frequently mention customer service, small business and employer account. Indeed ranks 132nd among Recruiting sites.
Started using Indeed to recruit an increasing sales force. Spent hours navigating the site and creating job postings and even sponsored one job while posting 4 others using free service. Despite having my name, email, 30 year old business, Palazzo Realtors, LLC, my credit card and cell phone validated my jobs were suspended. When I appealed and asked why they took emailed me with a rejection email and no explanation. I called the company and was told that I could continue to email the "final decision" email. This company obviously is discriminating against a female owned and operated small business!
We are a newly opened bar and grill trying to hire staff and Indeed suspended my employer profile with no warning or explanation whatsoever. This seems to be a common occurrence for Indeed as this is not the first review that reflects these practices. Why is Indeed bullying small businesses? Must be the $$ they get from corporate restaurants for premium job postings that they give them "a little extra" by suppressing the little guys. What a pitiful service
Hello Anthony, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message.
Like many, after posting a job offer, and accumulating candidates, we got an email saying our ability to post jobs is disabled (along with all the applications to the job.)
We tried appealing that, providing all the documentation requested, and got hit with this:
"It appears that your request may require specialized attention and our Client Success team can better assist you. Please view our Help Center for further assistance with this issue."
Guess what? There is no way to reach the mythical client success team if your Employer account is disabled.
Also, after they sent that message to you, they will ignore any further communication from you.
Just abysmal. Stay away.
Hi Khalifa, we are very sorry to hear of this experience, a member of our team has reached out to you by private message to assist you with this.
I have used indeed for many years throughout my time as a recruiter, since setting up my own Ltd company I had created an indeed account, sent in all required documentation, posted my jobs and sponsored them, only to have my account disabled, I've appealed the decision twice, emailed them 3 times and called them twice and still have no reason or resolution in place. This has been going on for 8 days. Will move to zip recruiter and not use indeed any longer.
Hi Georgia. Thank you for reaching out to bring your experience to our attention. We apologize for any inconvenience. Our team has reached out to you via private message to best assist. We look forward to hearing from you!
Indeed can allow your job offer to be seen (or not) - it's all a game played depending on how much money you pay. They can stop it from being seen if too many people "click" or if you simply don't spend enough money daily. Many job seekers use this site, so it can still be beneficial - providing you spend enough money daily. One great thing about Indeed is that you can request that applicants do some testing before they are considered for your open position through Indeed, with no extra cost. So, if you need, for example, "attention to detail" you can see how an applicant scores in that area right up front. Bad news is, plenty of applicants are too lazy to do the tests - no fault of Indeed, just the way of the world today.
Hi June, thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us! We wish you the best of luck in your recruiting process.
As a small business owner, i recently post positions on indeed, and today they blocked me. "Your account has been disabled".
For WHAT? "not consistent with Indeed's quality standards." WHAT standards? They won't tell.
But over all Indeed is a best platform for employers and employees.
Hello Muhammad, thank you for reaching out and we're happy to help. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message. Please follow up with us there so we can further assist.
This has always been one of my top search engines for new jobs, it pools together all the roles you need.
But overtime I've noticed this company has fallen down a bit. They spam your emails, texts, and even WhatsApp and it's quite difficult to turn off.
There's some bugs and issues with the app too and sometimes it makes me feel that there are better alternatives.
You're still good, Indeed, but I think you need to pull it together before you slip even further.
Hi Emilia, we want to make sure job seekers are having a safe experience with Indeed. For this reason, contact information is only shared with employers when users apply for their positions or users accept their contact through our resume database. Otherwise, this information is hidden. If you suspect the communication you have been receiving is a result of a job you applied for on Indeed, feel free to reach out at socialcare@indeed.com. Thank you.
We had been using Indeed for over one year and everything was running smoothly. Then all of a sudden Indeed disabled job postings on our account. We inquired about this development from Indeed Team and initially, they did reply to our query but we still have not been given the exact reason why the feature of job posting and contacting candidates has been disabled. Now customer care is not replying regarding our situation and we are unsure how to take things forward. We want to keep our business on Indeed as it is the best platform for recruiting. Uncertainty looms over us right now and we could not find any other way to contact Indeed. So, it is hoped that this review might aid us in resolving our conundrum or at least make the Indeed Team aware that customer service hasn't been responding and accounts are being disabled.
Hi there, thank you for taking the time to leave Indeed a review. All accounts on Indeed go through a standard reviewing process. This review can happen at any time as well. Unfortunately, Indeed has fully reviewed your account and we are unable to show your listings on the site and the account will remain in its disabled status. Indeed or Publishers may reject or remove any Job Ad, and Indeed may disable any Employer’s account, for any or no reason without notice. Although Indeed may indicate why a job or account has been removed or disabled, we cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Indeed is a platform that allows employers and employees to contact one another. I have had a positive experience finding my first job I could actually call a career from here, but other than that job, I haven't had as much luck.
There are some questionable jobs out there. The worst are the headhunters, usually for a major company. They are all offering the same job across several networks and claiming varying pay rates.
The assessments are actually fun, though. This is a big step up from Craigslist, and WAY better than Monster. USAJobs could learn a thing or 69 from Indeed.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, Jesse, we are glad to hear you had a positive experience. If you come across any jobs that you are concerned about on Indeed feel free to send us more details to socialcare@indeed.com, we would be happy to check them out for you!
Candidates were not qualified. Those that were qualified were largely unresponsive to interview requests yet. I paid for a sponsored post so i was charged for every resume that I did not reject within the 72 hour review period. Most of the unqualified candidates were able to be flushed out prior to the review period. However, we moved forward with and were charged for 12 candidates. 10 of the 12 candidates were either unresponsive after some contact, and some were completely unresponsive from the outset. Save your money and don't post here.
Hi Lori, we are very sorry to hear about this experience, the 72 hour review period is in place to allow you to reject any candidates that do not meet your requirements so you will not be charged for them. Unfortunately, we cannot control if a candidate responds to messages, this is entirely their responsibility.
Just another small business not allowed to thrive on your site. Following guidelines and sponsoring an ad is not enough for indeed apparently. I am a recruiting agency hiring for a for profit marketing company working exclusively in the nonprofit sector - therefore charities and hospitals for fundraising. Indeed disabled my account with no notice or explanation and then proceed to reject an appeal within a matter of 2 minutes! I have been using them for 4 months now continuously paying for a service. I am deeply saddened by the customer service provided, as there is none.
Indeed disabled my account after only 24 hrs of receiving applications. I've been recruiting for small businesses for years and have NEVER encountered anything like this. I appealed the decision and got an email from them saying that they've reviewed the account and found it was in violation! Of what?! There was no detail ever given that explains it. The fact that more than 75+ people applied to our role in less than 24 hours says that we're a business that people want to work for! Jerks. Don't waste your time or money with them.
Hi Daniel! Thanks for reaching out and bringing your experience to our attention. We reached out to you via private message to further assist. We look forward to hearing back from you.
Every time my employer account has been disabled without explanation, advice or reason. Just the prefixed answer for everyone. I tried many ways and always is the same. They are not giving reasons. Even when I wrote for appellation it seems like I got an automatic answer
Hi Lilly, we are very sorry to hear that you had a poor experience, all accounts on Indeed are subject to our standard account review process. We have sent you a private message with more details. Thank you.
Indeed suddenly disabled my account. I tried to find out why. And I absolutely have no idea. My start up company is Value Sports Academy and I really need this to work! I don't mind paying, but at least give an easy way of explaining how it all works. I used to saw candidates appearing, now I can't do anything. Disappointing!
We are a small business trying to post few job openings. Indeed disabled our account without any guidance. What a joke? At least give us a chance to make corrections if we done something wrong. I'm not sure if this is only happened to me or everyone. Worst experience ever.
Hello Eric, thank you for reaching out. A member of our team has responded to your review by private message.
I own a financial service and investment company, we started out with 5 employees and received over 10,000 resumes and 500 + hires just from indeed. It came to my attention we had fired some under performing employees and they went and reported us to indeed as spam. That is not a valid reason to disable our employment account based on false accusations from ex disgruntled employees. And interviewees that were rejected employment. We hired over 500 employees in NYC just from indeed alone. This should be corrected asap - Paul Miller ps. we spent over $12,000
My indeed account have been disabled without any prior notice or any information provided on the reason. I have a ltd recruitment company and work on behalf of different clients and since last few weeks I am in so much pressure and problem as none of the appeal is answered and no reason is given and my clients are relying on my posting too which seems really frustrating. I work with sales and marketing companies, care workers, general administrative and management staff too.
Indeed replied and nothing is done. Such a irresponsible team as I am still receiving emails someone has applied for the role and someone is no more interested in the role. I have requested my account deletion but they don't bother replying at all.
Hello! We have reached out via PM, please reply back so we can take a look at the account. Thank you!
They disabled my account for no reason and when you ask why so you can make corrections to your post They sent me a link to the TS & Guidelines that doesn't specifically state how my job post was in violation.
I liked Indeed as a job seeker, but now that I'm the employer, They are crap. Whoever's their close competition I will support them. I advise you to try Monster, Zip Recruiter, or Glassdoor, anybody but indeed. Pass the word. There are a bunch of similar reviews; can't be the employers it's Indeed.
After successfully loading two legitimate job adverts, making sure the billing was correct and receiving many responses Indeed suddenly suspended our business account. I logged two appeals and submitted Company verification documents to them on two separate occasions. I called the call centre and spoke to them on three different occasions. We have just been rejected again. We have many prospective candidates who we cant reach out to. Its been over two weeks of back and forth and I dont' know where to turn next.
Hi Mandy, we have sent you a PM with an additional explanation and the next steps. Thank you.
I'm an independent recruiter hired by a company looking for candidates for nurseries. I posted numerous ads in which there was no issues, yet today my account has been disabled due to one of my ads was deemed not consistent. This is completely unfair as I have had no explanation or opportunity to alter the job post myself. I have a limited amount of time to gather candidates for this company and disabling my account without any explanation has only left my candidates with no reply and stopped my active searches for these candidates due to all my job posts being closed. This is beyond unprofessional and seriously need to consider fixing this system.
Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. We'd be happy to assist you here in reviewing your resume and offering suggestions for applying to jobs on the site. Please email us at sitejabber@indeed.com with a link to your Indeed Resume or document so that we can review. Thank you.
Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Answer: Hi Kristina, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com with some additional details regarding your concerns and we'd be happy to take a look. Please be sure to reference this interaction in your email. Thank you.
Answer: Hi Irene, to explain, all accounts on Indeed go through a moderation process as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status. Based on your message, this is likely what you are currently experiencing. If you need assistance, feel free to email our team at sitejabber@indeed.com and we'd be happy to take a look.
