After being a subscriber for years I am forced into this new update that makes it nearly impossible to navigate. It's all text based with large but thin lettering, no pictures, now new episode updates, no favorites, odd random crap on the " your shows" list. It is the worst update I have seen on any platform EVER. I thought Amazon was bad boy was I wrong, it's like Hulu said " hold my beer" and rolled out this sh&t. Did they even have a group review this before launching it? I cannot imagine they did. I went from considering switching to Hulu tv to cancelling my subscription in one day. Thanks for nothing Hulu...
Hulu used to be somewhat decent, but their new User Interface is garbage - it takes a million clicks to get to a tv show's page and forget about trying to find a specific episode in less than 10 minutes. So cumbersome I gave up my subscription and refuse to return to their garbage service until it's improved. Every time I've complained about this to Hulu directly they have nothing other than condescending replies that basically say, "Well, tough, sorry to see you go." Never going to waste my time with them again, which is sad as I used to love them and use them daily. I even paid for the commercial free subscription, too.
I tried Hulu live stream and it would not work in my area of Alaska. I searched the web and was able to finally find a contact number, then was on hold for no less than 20 minutes so I could speak with a live person. Hulu's website is horrible to navigate if you are simply looking for a contact number or email. Hulu cancelled my service and even sent me an email stating such, yet next month, they once again took the funds from my account. I am now on eternal hold again waiting to resolve an issue they created. If I ever had thoughts of returning to Hulu, their poor customer service, terrible website, and inept billing department helped make my choice clear. Hulu will never again have me as a customer.
So I've had hulu for about a year. I could put up with having to call them occasionally to find out how to reset everything, which I now have written down in case I need to again. Annoying but that's how that goes. But what takes the cake is them suddenly cancelling my tv subscription for no reason at all. It's all been paid, there was no reason for this. Contacted them and still no better. They'll probably try to keep charging while giving me nothing, we'll have to see. Who knows how many times I'll have to call them to try to get this fixed. Completely incompetent. I've never had any tv company do this. Worthless company that just wants to rip you off and give you nothing. This is how they treat loyal customers.
Hulu used to always have the same day episode of General Hospital on each evening by 7 pm cst. But for the last few months it is a day or two later. What is up? They want to charge us more, for not giving the good service we had before this? Also no enough shows to binge watch. Instead of older tv shows to binge, they keep adding Hulu originals etc that only have less than 12 episodes. Very disappointed with this, and have been a member for over 10 yrs. Always recommended them to my friends, but now? No
Overall has some pretty good content, For what its worth I'd say its on par with netflix, just depends what shows you want.
Other bigger companies can probably shell out more for some big titles but hulu does a decent job keeping up
Worst of all my streaming services. I get to see more commercials than actual shows because after the commercial break it stops working. Either comes back and freezes or no sound. Oh and lets be serious, horrible commercials that repeat again and again. If you can get hulu to work for a few episodes it either starts the show back at the beginning or just turns off. No its not my internet. My speeds are very high plus no problems with Netflix, Amazon prime, F1, or Funimation. I doubt Hulu will ever be top notch. But it could try to be average.
Over the past week there has been constant buffering and freezing. This is ridiculous. Sometimes a show wont even load, and other times it wont make it 10 minutes without skipping a scene and then buffering every 2 seconds. This crap would be fine for a free service, ie, "You get what you pay for." BUT... I am paying $49/mo... I didn't know "Unlimited lagging, freezing, buffering, and skipping" was an add on I had selected!
This hulu update looks like a downgrade for sure. It's not intuitive, and it takes multiple steps to look at the simplest of things.
Amazon and Netflix are Hulu's main competitors and it's obvious why they would never go in this direction. EVER. This interface is ugly and cumbersome, and completely different than how Hulu used to look; were customer's complaining before and asked for tacky all caps titles and bizarre "lineup" features? This feels like somebody trying to fix something that's not broken with a cheap looking interface. Very disappointing, who ever approved this update should be fired.
First hike charges you to watch woke commercials. Then when you've had enough, the online steps do not work to cancel. If you attempt to call customer service, expect a 40 minute wait to be told. "We won't help you" This company is trying to steal from you hoping you will forget or just give up.
First, you pay every month, and they still have ads almost every 2 minutes, I would say I watch more ads than the actual show. Also, its the same ad, o repeat every freaking time. It sucks and it makes me crazy. Second of all, I tried calling about an issue I was having, and I have been sick, which makes my voice sound quite odd, and the lady working for hulu said and I quote "We don't have time for stupid prank calls" and hung up! I am paying for this dumb subscription and hulu's workers are treating customers like such.
Had it 2 weeks, limitless glitches of all sorts including limited access as well as the one of the least intuitive layouts on its apps, do not expect this software to run smoothly or logically, extremely bad and gets frustrating. Not worth
At first I thought th this new app will "just take some getting used to", but it's simply not intuitive at all. On top of that, it keeps disconnecting from my Chromecast... If I try to rewind 10 seconds, I have to reconnect to the Chromecast (which takes up to 2 minutes), and then hit the "back 10 seconds" button several times to get back where it was.
I think it is ridiculous you only offer one screen at a time. Even Netflix gave me more than that. You should offer at least 2 screens with the base price. Then for the last 4 nights I haven't even been able to access Hulu (usually just at night). Also making people pay $60 a month just to view it on more than one screen. I quit Netflix bc they suck, I quit amazon prime bc they lied about everything you get, and Hulu is slowly working my nerves on this one. Can't someone put something out there where they actually care about what their customers want and not to fulfill their own greedy needs. All of these channels are now trying to make a pretty penny off of everyone now. It's ridiculous to make someone pay for a channel they already pay for with cable.
One month free, but if you old timer with only cash or checks - then your screwed. They going make money off u by charging after u cancel or selling your info. Plus their server already been hacked. I made this review through a account I hacked from their files. Sorry Hacked IP It was a random pick from Credit report agent.
Ok, the commercials are a drag, but I think they come as part of the package for viewing new episodes, so I can live with them. However, Hulu never wants to stream using Chromecast - Youtube, Amazon Prime and Netflix work great, so why is Hulu constantly a problem? I adjust settings and reload the chromecast program and it works for a few months but then stops - so that's annoying. Most annoying: buffering. I pay for pretty good internet speeds, and again, every other platform runs with no buffering, but I can't even make it through a 30 minute show in the morning without it pausing and buffering every 2 minutes or so.
They make u pay extra money for "less ads", but there isn't less ads, there is the same amount, if not more than usual. They just want your damn money. Either way u have to sit through about 70 ads per show. Do your self a favor and don't subscribe.
The service is trash, the interface is worse. They force ads in every spot they get, and will then argue semantics over ads and commercials being different. There are countless comments about how bad Hulu, and they just keep doubling down. Also, would it kill these streaming companies to add an already watched button?
I will admit that hulu has a great variety or shows and movies but the ad's are constantly coming on every five min and it's so annoying. It really gets me upset that hulu makes millions off ppl like me who have accounts with them and pay monthly and still sell out to get paid from commercial ad's! Selfish bastards! Hulu needs to quit with the bs.
We all really like Hulu and watch it almost every day. Good original shows and others. I do like the news programs a lot and a lot of the tv series. However, not much lately because we can't even find most shows since they switched the format. VERY difficult to use. NOT user friendly. I realize no new shows because of pandemic. BUT it would be nice to get some new things from old things that were shown from recent years. Tired of re watching series for the second or third times and most movies are too tiresome/boring/stupid to watch at all. It could be that we just can't find them with this format.
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
Answer: Yes & with Hulu Live you get all of the local channels like CBS, NBC, Fox & ABC. The shows are clearer too because of the way they come in from their On Demand libraries. I love Hulu Live & was so tired of Dish for a few reasons. You should just try it. You get the first seven days free & can cancel anytime. No contracts, equipment or bullshit. All you need is a good strong internet signal which most of us have today. My monthly bill was $100 with Dish. My new Hulu Live bill is $80, but that includes no commercials & an extended cloud DVR where you can fast forward through commercials on recorded shows. You also get access to their whole Hulu library.
Hulu has a rating of 1.7 stars from 1,179 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Hulu most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. Hulu ranks 202nd among Streaming Movies sites.
