Houzz made three unauthorized charges on my credit card for over $1,600.00 and I could not speak to one person from there company to help me. I am in the middle of disputing this with my credit card company. I had just finished ordering all my family's Christmas gifts only to find out my card was declined. They completely ruined my family's Christmas. They are the biggest lowlife scumbags I have ever seen
Don't know why this company is still surviving. Just waste your time and money.
After checking their very bad reviews, I hesitated to place my order. Then I called their customer service to make sure they can ship the item I need immediately. The rep called manufacture and ensure me that the item can be shipped out at the same day. BUT about 30 minutes later after I placed my order, another customer service rep called me said the item has a missing part, have to delay the shipment in two weeks. I cancelled my order on the phone immediately, dont want to deal with such unreliable company. I SHOULD ask they to reimburse me for the time I spent on their website. Worst company ever!
They refuse to cancel your subscription without first making an appointment to talk to a technical specialist. If you call their number the "specialist" will not be available to take your call. This is a huge waste of everyone's time and is very unethical. I've been using Houzz for about 10 years and have recommended it to many people. I will no longer use Houzz for anything and will no longer recommend it.
I've been with Houzz for several years and have found the marketing, CRM and business support to be extremely helpful at finding clients, improving my marketing and client leads. Initially I only wanted a site that I could host my portfolio but they have become invaluable as my primary support for moving my business forward. Thank you Houzz
I prepaid for a full year and never received one lead. After the year was up they charged me $250 per month and would not refund my money. I'm now having to pay a 4 month fee. I would hope someone would do a class action lawsuit. This is WRONG.

Houzz used Old Dominion Freight to deliver my chair. I was told it would arrive on a Friday. It never did, nor did anyone call me to let me know. I contacted Houzz, who found out the chair had not arrived at the truckers as scheduled. Later, the freight company called and promised Monday delivery. It is 5:00 pm Monday as I wrote this, and no delivery yet. I will not do business with Houzz ever again.
The order specifically states transparent chair leg covers, and we received white. They claim that silicone doesn't come transparent, but that is what they stated on their order form. They are stating that I must return the product to China. Their office is in Palo Alto, Ca.

Received lamp set w/ inch long blue ink mark on shade and a finial that will not thread onto the lamp post. I contacted Houzz for replacement parts but did not receive. I waited over a year. Later, I was offered a refund if I donated the lamps and submitted a copy of the donation receipt which I did but never received a refund or any further communication.
At the end of the day, I got nothing!
At this point, all I can do is write them off as a donation on my taxes, at a fraction of what I paid for them.
I will NOT make any future purchases from Houzz or reccomend to family or friends.
UPDATE: Much to my surprise and after writing the above review, Houzz customer service reached out to me and refunded the money for the defective lamp set. Thank You! I probably would buy from them again. My only advice would be to check the merchandise closely upon delivery and if you find a defect, contact them immediately and stay on them to send a replacement or request a refund.

I found Houzz to be quite innovative and they certainly have many interesting pictures, however, I got burned by ordering from them.
First, they have No listed phone number to call in the event of an order error. All communication with them must be done through their website.
Second, in communicating through their website and email, I have No response from the last 5 communications I have sent about an order that is late and may be lost. I was hoping for better than this from them.
Having dealt with Richard for over 20 years, never in my extended real estate experience (over 30 years) have I had the occasion to meet a finer, more honest individual. The key stone on which Richard has established his business is "customer satisfaction to the max". No other Builder who I have ever represented can make the statement "Call anyone I've built for and ask their opinion". We purchased some beautifully handcrafted mexican tile from Houzz with no issues at all. We had some questions that got answered right away. Our order was processed and shipped quickly, in less time than we were told to expect the order. We were worried about breakage but the tiles were expertly wrapped and arrived in perfect shape. They are beautiful and we are pleased with our entire experience.
I ordered 2 chairs in April. My account was charged in May. Now it is the end of June and I have not received the chairs. The customer service phone number says they are not taking calls and to email. I sent an email 3 times (with my order number) and still no response.
We were going for a beachy look and this coffee table works perfectly! It's from reclaimed wood and has the nail holes and imperfections that give it character. The description was completely accurate. The price made this a great value. Shipment and delivery were as promised, with good communication. We're very happy with the whole experience!
I ordered 4 lounge chairs looked Black on the website, came in brown. They want a 25% restocking charge! 6 emails and 8 days later I have not gotten a response. Still have the chairs. Can anyone help me get these chairs returned.
The sink arrived as scheduled & was packaged extremely well. The installation was simple as replacing another style of pedestal for design update. It looks great in the space with the round black mirror & hardware accessories already in place. A review was submitted with photos last week. Very Pleased

I ordered from 7 items and they came from 3 different suppliers. The communication about returning items was slow and frustrating. I will probably look at a local retailer to purchase from in the future.
I'm looking at returning 6 boxes that I will have to pay shipping for because the product representation was inaccurate. The products were inferior. This experience has taught me a lot.
Trying to reach customer service by phone is impossible. Or nearly. They want to you text them... and when you engage in texting no one gives you their name. I had to ask if I was dealing with a robot or a real human. I was shipped the wrong item... well actually the right item but the wrong size... I had to take photos of the item. Which I did with a real yardstick. And, they argued with me that the size was correct, if I measured from the seams. When one orders seat cushions that are 20" x 21" we expect them to be that size... not 19" x 19 1/2" and then told to measure from the seams. These people are the worst I have ever encountered in online retailing. And, then to add insult to injury, they wanted ME to pay $16 to return the wrong sized cushions.!

I purchased what I thought was a desk because of both pictures and product description. However, all I got was the hutch part. They are charging me $45 to return and I haven't received my refund either. BEWARE of this scam. On all other sites this web site has a rating of one star and are known for being scammers. I only wish I did this research ahead of time.

Ordered products Aug 14 and still not arrived. Almost no response. A few responses is that they are going to contact the vendor and then radio silence. I got someone on the phone after holding a long time Saturday last week and they said it was shipping that day as it was on back order, which was a complete lie. Now they don't even answer the phone on Saturday. I just want to cancel my order and cannot get anyone to respond.
After waiting for over 2 months, they claimed they lost my air conditioner. The price was unbelievably low. I am not sure if the unit was lost or sellers remorse set in. In any event, the response time to my questions was horrible, I never got my product, and refunding was cumbersome at best. I will never shop them again. They're no Amazon.

Answer: Good question Maggie. I don't think there is. I think this site is just there to help their vendor and not assist consumers in making informed decisions. I found had a contractor who had defrauded us and changed his business name on Houzz. I posted a review on his profile notifying the public of what he had done to us, and Houzz did not publish the review. I joined Sitejabber to warn the public about Houzz.
Answer: I began as a Pro on Houzz and spent $2000 on Advertising. This was supposedly for a year of top exposure. No one purchased, the couple of calls I received were people wanting to USE my service for ideas. I have since discontinued complimentary initial appointments. These people are the biggest scammers in the world! I'm still one of the Pros just to see if anything bites but I noticed they go into vendors photos and try to find similar product then they sell their products. Great way to sway your client and to steal customers!

Answer: The Pros, at least at the beginning, were not in competition with this company (Houzz). They convinced the "Designer" world that the were strictly collecting ideas for the public and to help improve the vendors chances of being hired. Those reviews on the Pros are about the Pros, they come from their clients. About 2-3 years ago, Houzz began selling out from under all the vendors! They are SO low they have gone into the photos of the pros, look for a product they have that might be similar to something they sell and lead them away from the pro. The 1-2 stars you see here are the reviews for "Houzz" and their service but the reviews under a Pro are for that Pro. Don't be fooled... If you want the job done right, call the Pro! Listen to these reviews of Houzz and you won't get burned. Two different animals completely!
Answer: Steer clear. The advertising doesn't work, and although they originally started up as a company that would work alongside the vendors, they are now selling out from under most of them, especially the interiors decorators! They are SO low they have actually tagged products inside some of the photos of interior designers and tabbed out similar products to stay the customer away from the Pro and to purchase through them directly!
Answer: Do yourself a huge favor and find it somewhere else. Houzz contracts with third party sellers and their freight companies, they're just a middle man. What a nightmare this has been.
