Heirloom Roses has a data breach in August 2021 with subsequent breaches through October 2021 even though they supposedly took steps to secure their website. It took the another two months to notify customers that they might have been victim of a potential breach of personal information. Essentially 5 months from realization of the breach are customers notified. Why not sooner? What's worse is how could they claim the website was secure if breaches continued until October 2021. Irresponsible.
As always their roses are the healthiest and best performers In the market. Years ago I ordered from another well known place (the one based across the pond!), and it was sad affair, a very disappointing experience, none of their 5 roses survived, they never sprout, I can tell you that won't happened with Heirloom Roses, I have planted roses in the middle of the summer with scorching temperatures and bare roses in the spring, all of them are thriving.
I recently moved to a new house and a new state, with very different weather and I found the perfect plants at Heirloom Roses. They are worth every penny!
I ordered a honeymoon bare root rose (white) three years ago. I received it and planted it. Next season it grew and had foliage but didn't bloom. No biggie. I was prepared to have to wait. This season it starts blooming and I see bright red buds! A bud finally blooms and sure enough it is a different rose that what I ordered 3 seasons ago! It isn't even close! Called and could not get through so I sent emails. After reading all these reviews I will keep my fingers crossed. I put in 3 years caring for this rose and it's the wrong one! Now I have a red regose in my white rose area. I dont even like red roses. So infuriating!
Hi! Thanks for letting us know about your rose. We actually do not sell bare root roses and all of our roses are Own-Root Roses so they are 100% a duplicate of the mother plant. There is no grafting so they cannot change into a different rose or revert to rootstock as there is no rootstock on Own-Root Roses. Roses that revert to red blooms are usually grafted on Dr. Huey which is a common red rootstock. So this is not an Heirloom Rose. Is there another rose planted close by that could have a sucker coming up near your white rose?
I planned my rose garden out with Heirloom roses only. I spent the time researching just the right roses for my space. The website was so easy to navigate with all of the information needed based on Color, Size and Type. I now have 11 of my 13 roses in the ground. Cannot wait for the last two's availability.
I would never purchase from anyone else. These are the Best in Roses and customer service.
Sonya is so wonderful. I appreciate her focus on customer service
I only have 1 of the 13 roses that I am planting this year, but you folks Rock. Customer Service is the Best.
The date I care about is the arrival date, which every other website lets you in on. Why do I care about the ship date? That doesn't help me plan to be home, because I don't know how long it takes to ship.
Confusing for first time buyers….
Can't speak to the quality yet, as I don't have the product yet.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we greatly appreciate it. At check out on our store, you are able to select the shipping date and it is stated that transit time is 3-5 days. When your order ships, you are sent a shipment confirmation with tracking number that will tell give you the ability to track your order along the way and see when it will arrive at your location. If you want to be home at the time of day that it will arrive, it is best to use the tracking information for up to the date information as your rose travels to it's new home in your garden. Happy planting!
I had no luck with your customer service and mentioned it in my rose group. They suggested that I just order from your website. I finally received your catalog and appreciate being able to read about your roses. Thank you so much.
Young rose bush arrived in good order. Videos and instructions on planting were followed the same day the rose arrived and its been in the ground for most of the first week of arrival. Time will tell if it flourishes, I'm noticing a few signs of growth, but very early days.
Had such kind and thorough help from Brittany. Ordered a supply of fish fertilizer for the year - supurb product! Unlike what I've seen on the market in its category. This is a fine company.
I purchased 2 each of 8 different roses for a total of 16 own-root plants. All plants arrived healthy with just a limited amount of wilting. After opening the shipping boxes I watered each plant thoroughly in its own pot. I planted them the next day following the provided instructions and using the fish fertilizer I also purchased from Heirloom Roses. I have been watering all 16 bushes faithfully and every single plant has already bloomed! I had to deadhead pretty quickly after blooming since the branches are still small and too weak to hold the blooms up.
I will admit I was very concerned after reading all the negative reviews, but my experience is quite the opposite and Heirloom Roses has earned a loyal customer in me!
Donald, thank you so much for the lovely review. I am so glad you were pleased with your order. Please email us at info@heirloomroses.com and put ATTN: Robin in the subject line so I can personally thank you. - Robin
Ordered 2 roses since April 2022.
Scheduled to ship late May. 1 week before my scheduled shipping day, I received an email saying that my Road Dahl was out of stock. If I wanted to select another rose, they will discount. I responded immediately with another selection. However, 1 rose was shipped. I emailed them 4-5 times asking about another rose. No response. Called their customers service number: no response. Called multiple times and finally I can talk to a lady. She said she could not locate my email. I gave her my order number and asked for a refund. She told me: since the order system and email system are 2 different, she can't see my email. And she will refund me.
Waited until today: no refund. Just opened a case with *******@Heirloom rose: do NOT say you can't find my email. You guy contacted me via this email. STOP RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS WITH POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
Mandy, I am sorry that you are frustrated with the care you received. It is hard to track customers when they use multiple names and email addresses so I am sorry for the difficulty in tracking your communication with us. I show that we have already refunded you for these plants and restored your loyalty points. I am not sure what else we can do to help you. While we understand your frustration with the delay in response time, we would request that you please not respond to our kind Customer Care team with foul language and obscenities. We are doing our best to take care of everyone in a timely manner and we value our thoughtful Customer Care team members and believe they each deserve to be treated with respect and kindness.
I ordered and received amazing grace rose on may 2020. Before planting it in the ground, I noticed 2 dead branches. I called their customer service and told them about this problem. They said go ahead and plant the rose. After a week the plant died. I called them and told them what happened. To my surprise, they were almost adamant that it was my fault that amazing grace died. After the back and forth, they would not give a refund. I settled to receive memorial day rose in exchange. I promised myself that this is the last I'm going to buy from Heirloom Roses.
Lina, I'm sorry to hear that your rose did not survive. I am glad that we were able to send you a replacement rose but understand it was not the Amazing Grace one that you had hoped for. Please email us at info@heirloomroses.com and put ATTN: Robin in the subject line. I would like to make this right and restore your confidence in both our premiere roses and our guarantee. - Robin
I received my first ever order from Heirloom Roses and also my first ever own root rose. The rose arrived healthy and soil was still moist. I planted it in a container and now waiting for my Falling in Love to bloom! It says it has a lot of thorns but my son bought me a pair of rose pruning gloves so I'm good to go! Very positive experience with Heirloom
I ordered and paid for five climbing roses from Heirloom Roses in Jan. It was supposed to ship out the week of May 23; it's two weeks and the roses didn't arrive. I tried repeatedly to contact them but never got a response from them. I was out $200.
Sylvia, I'm sorry for the delay in our response. I have tried to find an order for you under your name or email and am having trouble. Can you please email us with ATTN: ROBIN so we can locate that order for you and get this resolved as quickly as possible? Thank you.
They offer a guarantee for up to one year and will send a new plant but after months of back and forth with them, it's a joke. They don't plan to replace any plants but find any loop holes to get out of it and deny your request. $100 lost! And terrible customer service to follow this claim any further.
We're sorry to hear we did not live up to your expectations! If you disagree with the outcome of your RMA request we would be happy to review the request again with you. Please call us at (503) 538-1576 or send us a email at info@heirloomroses.com at your earliest convenience and we would be happy to assist you!
I had to change my roses because I realized I had purchased too short of a climber. When I switched them to another, my $20 voucher no longer got applied, but since then they reached out to me and reapplied it. Great customer service.
It's almost *too* easy to shop, which is slightly dangerous for me! But I love roses and am hoping the living soil will enrich my beachside dirt. Thanks for the generous rewards program and the free s&h on the large box of living soil!
The site is easy to navigate, there's plentiful and useful descriptions of all the plants, and service is quick. I got my order, and my items were in great shape and are adjusting well, so I feel that this was a good quality purchase.
Very good experience as always. The roses I have ordered are doing well, and look great! The also have a wealth of information on their website, quality roses and willing to answer any questions you have. Best rose online website around! Want the best buy from here.
I usually do not write a review, but had to on Heirloom Roses. I purchased 4 rose plants, and waited an unknown length of time to have them delivered. 3 of the 4 seemed healthy. I planted in accordance with the instructions, but since it was close to winter I put in pots and left outdoors until right before the first frost. I could not plant in ground because it would not be 6 weeks before winter set in. Over the winter i kept the plants in window and watered. So spring came and put out the plants, none of the plants survived, so now i put in a warranty claim per the instructions on the site. After several weeks and multiple attempts to get information, my claims has been denied. Buying from Heirloom is like just throwing money away.
I am sorry to hear we have not lived up to your expectations of our company! We try our best to make all our Customers happy. We are not able to guarantee roses if they are not planted at least 6 weeks prior to the first expected frost. Since they are just babies they need this time to get their small fibrous roots established before the first frost sets in. Planting to close to frost dates does void the warranty as stated on our website. If you would like to contact us at your earliest convenience we would be happy to go over your RMA request with you.
I have a wonderful spot for roses w/ excellent rich soil. I am a seasoned gardener.
I have bought 5 roses from heirloom roses
And they were not hardy plants. I no longer have any of them after 5 years. I just pulled the last one out. They never flourished, and they were given care.
Heirloom prices are very high, and their roses aren't hardy. Not a good combination.
I live in zone 6. Not too cold.

Answer: I bought from Heirloom Roses because of the amazingly beautiful selection of roses they offer plus their customer service is beyond excellent.
Answer: I live in 8b and prune in November. Watch the weather as they should tell you when six weeks before the first frost happens. I prune again in April after the last frost and before the buds turn red and swell.

Bill, I'm sorry to hear that your information was compromised. We did have a security breach in August of 2021 and quickly disabled our site until we were able to remove all malicious code. We sent out an email to those that we knew were affected and then sent out a letter to a larger selection of customers than those who were compromised just to be safe and make sure everyone was cared for with our free offer of credit monitoring. The breaches did not continue throughout October as the malicious code was discovered and removed in August. We have upgraded our check out system to be through Paypal and Braintree to ensure added encryption and safety. We care very much for our customers and would love to help make this right. Please email us at info@heirloomroses.com and let them know that Robin sent you and we would like to do what we can to restore your trust in our company and our new, secure site. - Robin
