I've been with Guru Aid now for a year and a half and have received 5 Star service during this period. I recommend Guru Aid to any one who needs computer service. All the technicians are top quality techs. Thank-you Guru Aid for all you have done for me.
I was happy enough with the technician who was very patient with me, However when I first contacted this coy, I was told I could take a 3 year, 2 year or a one time fix for $100. I took the latter as the other were $399,99 and $299,99, neither of which I could afford. I decided to take the one time fix of $100, but was aghast when I searched my mastercard account to find they had charged me for the 3 year option Another problem is that they are not $AU, but $US which means they cost a lot more. For the Australian market you would automatically think they were $AU, but not so. Nobody mentioned that until it was too late. I finally got onto Customer Service who is now going to refund portion of the amount I paid, for which I am grateful, but have to wait 5 to 7 days for them to process. It only took them 5 seconds to debit my account. Overall I feel I have had a very bad experience, and unless this matter is resolved to my satisfaction, I shall not give them a very good rating, and advise future customers (by social media/facebook etc) not to deal with this crowd.

Unfortunately, some time after I wrote my first review, a positive one, we were scammed by either GuruAid or someone posing as them, It is well I post a negative review now. The caller claimed to be from GuruAid. He had every single bit of our GuruAid contract information, so the call seemed legit. As embarrassing as it is to admit it, we fell for it. But we are no longer naive. Now we know never to respond if they call you unsolicited. Fortunately, we were able to put a hold on the money transaction so we didn't lose cash. But we lost untold hours in changing all our other accounts and passwords. When we called GuruAid directly to tell them about the matter, they said they would look into it. They never called back about the matter. Do your homework. Don't be folled.
They were very helpful and were patient with my lack of pc knowledge. They explained every step and asked permission where aproppate. I never felt rushed to do something.
They have done a great job. We really appreciate it.

I have been a customer for guruaid for five years. My overall experience has been positive. The customer service representatives that I have encountered so far are knowledgeable on all computer applications, and other devices as well. On top of that, the representative are polite and curteous. I will recommend the company to other people.
Answer: Guru Aid is not a scam. I have them clean and tune up my computer about every 4 to 6 weeks. It does take a couple of hours and you have to sit in front of your computer but you can see them doing the work. They keep my computer virus free and running much better. I've been impressed with their technicians. GuruAid gets thumbs up from me!
