Grammarly

As a writer whose English is her second language, I appreciated this software at the beginning when I purchased in January. But there's something wrong with this product. It dies on you, and you "REPORT" every other day. You can be easily frustrated. How is the customer service? They assign someone to help you, but not all are capable of fixing the problems. And this person who send you a link that supposed to help reports that the problem is "fixed" when it's NOT FIXED. After I worked on a project on the screen with Grammarly "turned on" and I see a clean screen, but on the printed page, I find all sorts of "unexpected" and mysterious typos, which I have not caused. I paid $82 for "premium" for one year but during the past four months, I believe I spent dozens of hours emailing and trying to fix the problems. No fun.
There is NO Refund, the help desk person informed me. I will not recommend this product to anyone.

If you conduct enough tests on this website, you will discover just how fraudulent this site is. I dare you to check a section composed of five pages. If you make the corrections as advised by grammarly.com, and then check it, the site will indicate there are 0 mistakes, or 100 percent accurate. However, you may check that same 5-page passage a week later, without further revisions, only to find that grammarly.com has found 4 to 8 mistakes in it. You may make the corrections after that, and then find out weeks later there are additional mistakes. See a pattern? A viscous cycle... recycle? If they keep finding mistakes that weren't there days, weeks earlier, you will never cancel your membership.

There are tons of people out there who do not need to professionally use Grammarly, like me, and cannot afford to pay as much as people who may write pages of text a day. A new plan is needed to fit the needs of this group of people with a more fair price.

Grammarly is a great tool with helpful features. However, anthropomorphism, for example, is rampant in Grammarly and the computer may make suggestions for clarity that would change the intent of the sentence. It is important to read through the Grammarly suggestions and ensure that it will not change the information or intent of the sentence(s). Also, the Grammarly suggestions are an opportunity to re-read the material and consider rewriting it for clarity if appropriate. A great tool that I highly recommend that with future upgrades and software development will improve.

I have never seen such bad grammar and punctuation as Grammarly. It is street talk, not proper or formal English according to the Rules of the English Language. It does catch most spelling errors. I spend more time correcting Grammarly errors than it saves me time.

They have this god-awful problem of blocking the end of a sentence to the right, and one must spend a lot of time to race what was written just to end a sentence. Also, they want to hyphenate words that should not be hyphenated. And, there are a lot of nonsense words like wanna as opposed to "want to." They totally abuse the proper grammar of "never begin or end a sentence with a preposition." They constantly want to add an unnecessary preposition at the end of after every object and change proper English usage to street and ghetto English. Again, it takes a long time to correct Grammarly's improper English, bad grammar, and bad punctuation by removing necessary commas.

I have used Grammarly, during my time, as a university lecturer. Now, however, I am retired and spend my time writing fiction. Much of what I write about is to do with the British Special Forces. My education, unfortunately, did not include going to university; my father said, 'it was a waste of time, and that I had to earn a living, as he had done.' I had always loved writing English compositions when I was at school. After leaving school, I continued writing poetry because of the pleasure it gave me. I have no illusions as to my level of ability, I know my weaknesses, as well as my strengths. For example; my skill with using punctuation was never very good. However, Grammarly, has helped me correct many of my mistakes, as well as help me to show my students at university the correct methods of writing; letters, applications, resignations, etc, etc. My poetry has also helped my students, when they were learning to speak the English language.

I think what motivated me to use Grammarly was the simple interface and ease of access. I used it mostly for practicing my essay writing skills. I liked the overall feedback from Grammarly, it helped me in getting a good command over my writing. Now I make sure to check my writeups before forwarding them for any grammatical errors using Grammarly. I would definitely recommend Grammarly to anyone who wants to improve their writing skills.

The more I use it, the more I like it. My husband didn't like the idea because it costs money every year. I tried to convince him that I need it to improve my English language. He does not understand because he is an American. I don't mind paying you around $11.00 per month for your app. I'm just curious if I could somehow get into this app Polish alphabet. I like to write on my phone ( Android) to Polish people on my Facebook.

It's knowledge based platform to learn the English grammer, punctuation very effectively and efficiently. It gives me a immense pleasure to use this website. Like me, millions of people from all over the world are using this platform in a significant manners. I am from India. Today is a gala day for every Indian as they are celebrating their great festival known as 'HOli'(a festival of colour).

I got Grammarly just to help with writing a book at first, but it has helped me with so many other things! The only issue I have with it is that when you are writing something past eight pages on google docs, it freaks out and gives the tying a delay. It also becomes super glitchy. The other only annoying thing is that when you are using a name that is a geographical place, it simply won't let you use it as a name. I was using Arctic as a name once, and it kept underlining it red saying, "The Arctic". It was literally just doing it the one time I did it in this passage! Super annoying.

Haven't tried premium, but I don't think I will. It's probably not worth it anyway, since I have to turn Grammarly off for google docs to write. So overall, I would give it 3 out of 5 stars.
