Very pricey and too many nickel and dime charges

A shipping charge initially advertised as £39 turned out to be over £50 with all the extra nickel-and-dime cost additions before checkout finally happened. For the volume the company ships, I know they're making an astronomical profit off of shipping charges that quite small companies charge about £10-£11 for. It's a racket, honestly.

Your shipment weighs 2.38 kg and has dimensions of 30x15x20 cm. The shipping cost is generally determined by the volumetric weight, which considers the amount of space your shipment occupies rather than its actual weight. This method is standard across most couriers, including DHL and FedEx. However, when the actual weight exceeds the volumetric weight, the shipping price is based on the actual weight instead.

For your shipment, as it contains books, the cost of shipping was calculated using the actual weight of 2.38 kg.

We also noticed that you added the optional Combine and Repack for Safety and Delivery Confirmation Signature services.

We ensures your items are securely packaged to prevent damage during transit. This is particularly helpful for fragile or delicate contents. The Delivery signature, provides added security by requiring a signature upon delivery, ensuring your shipment reaches the intended recipient.

Simple and efficient

I had a great experience with the service. It is really easy to use, doesn't require you to pay a monthly subscription, their interface is simple and straightforward.

I also had to contact support to ask questions related to their inbound processes at the US warehouse and got a very detailed reply through WhatsApp (thank you Nica!)

It's an excellent service for people like me who from time to time need to buy something that's both not available in their region and not shipped outside the manufacturer's country.

Unacceptable delays

They insist on repackaging the goods. Every time. I often doubt they reasons to do so. And this often takes days.

I pay for express delivery and 2 days later the goods are still not shipped! And no updates received from them.

Have to email them many many times so that they finally take action.

The cost of shipping is generally calculated by the amount of space that your shipment occupies, rather than the actual weight. This is called the volumetric weight. All couriers (examples: DHL and FedEx) use the volumetric weight to calculate their shipping prices. However, if the actual weight is more than this volumetric weight then the shipping price is calculated using this actual weight. I see on this occasion the volumetric weight is higher than the actual weight 5.08 kg so the shipping fees are calculated on the higher volumetric weight.11.80 kg.

When importing goods from another country, it's important to understand that customs regulations usually require taxes to be applied to the items. These taxes are necessary for the smooth clearance of your package through customs. The specific charges can vary depending on the value of the items in the packages.

The costs you have paid to forward2me include multiple services such as receiving your package, repackaging if needed, and preparing essential export paperwork to help send your items from the UK.

It is important to mention that these charges do not cover any possible import duties or taxes, as well as brokerage fees that may be required when importing the products into your country.

Forwarding Euro exclusive media to the US

I've used them a couple of times to get exclusive media and they've been very helpful every time. It costs a bit extra of course, because you're re-mailing things, but it's the only way to get some of these items and forward2me has treated me well every time I've shipped something to them.

I use Forward2Me when buying from the USA as most of the stores I buy from don't ship to South Africa and on both occasions I received my orders in good condition handled by the Forward2Me USA warehouse.
The customer service is excellent and truly appreciate how the consultant assisting me (Joyce) ensured that my parcel was delivered.
She answered my emails instantly and was quick to resolve any issues or concerns I had. I will be using Forward2Me regularly.

It is advisable to consider sending only high-value items to this address, couriers may incur slightly higher costs compared to shipping from our mainland UK address. Therefore, it's crucial to calculate in advance whether the VAT savings on the purchase outweigh the potential increase in shipping expenses from this facility compared to shipping from the UK mainland.

With UK tax free warehaouse - we offer DHL and FedEx. Furthermore, it's importnat to note that when you ship items from the UK Tax Free warehouse, you remain responsible for paying the duties and taxes once the shipment reaches its destination country.

The term "Tax Free" specifically pertains to the exclusion of certain sales taxes within the UK, but it does not imply exemption from duties and taxes imposed by the customs of the destination country, whether it be in the UK or Guernsey.

Absolutely clueless

Staff is absolutely clueless and unhelpful. They refuse to change their minds when presented with clear evidence they were wrong. My order was delayed unnecessarily because they marked some of my packages as having batteries when they didn't, and they kept quoting text from an unrelated product that did have batteries. Should learn how to do basic internet search.

Please be advised that we allow customers to ship up to two lithium battery-powered items in one package, as this does not fall under restricted shipping.

If there are more than two batteries in a shipment, it may indeed need to be repacked. This is typically due to safety regulations concerning the transport of batteries, especially lithium-ion batteries, which can pose risks like short-circuiting or overheating. Repacking ensures that the batteries are properly cushioned and isolated to prevent potential hazards during transit.

Mixed feelings

I've used forward2me several times and have never had any issues. I've used the warehouse in UK, Germany and the US and am very happy with the service. Living in Europe, however, I do find that the shipping quote from the US tends to be quite high so I don't use that one as much. All in all, would recommend to anyone in need of a forwarding service.

Everything worked out super quickly

I like to use Forward2me when I want to have packages delivered from Great Britain to Austria.
The entire ordering process on the Forward2me homepage is simple and time-saving.
The price calculations of the various suppliers are also easy to access and, above all, acceptable.

Good service but processing time too long

They aim for 24h processing but you would be lucky to get that. Usually a parcel delivered on day T is acknowledged on T+3 or T+4, then it takes another few days for them to open it and check it, and if you decide to post it, it won't be posted for yet another day. Otherwise satisfied with the service
