I payed my flight ticket and days later they cancelled on me because the flight could not be "ticketed" they could not help me at all they SUCK
I booked a flight and hotel for my wife for a medical appointment. Everything was going fine until we completed the checkout process and realized, somehow, that my wife's name had been changed on the flight itinerary to that of my email address instead, which meant she wouldn't be able to check in. Bear in mind, this was nothing we did while booking, the website seemed to have glitched (a running theme as we would soon find out). We immediately called Expedia and told them about this. All we wanted to do was correct the name on the ticket information but were told that instead of doing something as simple as that, we would have to cancel the entire transaction and start over again, despite the fact that it was their website's screwup and not ours. So we canceled, only realizing a few days later that we didn't get all of the taxes and fees refunded to us (still fighting that). Stupidly, we decided to try rebooking with them again. Everything was going fine, flights were selected, and when we went to pay we were given an error that there was a problem with our card. You can imagine our confusion, especially since the next day we discovered Expedia had taken almost five hundred dollars from our bank and sent it to the airline. After several phone calls and long wait times, I learned that when we attempted to purchase the tickets, our outbound flight wasn't actually available and some kind of 'glitch' with the website made it seem like it was. So, while that purchase didn't happen, the money for our return flight was taken from our bank and sent to the airline. Bear in mind, at no time was there any kind of message during the transaction process that there was an issue with the flights, only an issue with the card making it seem like the entire purchase couldn't be processed. I've spent the better part of a morning now trying to get my money back only to be told I have to wait at least 3 business days to have the money that Expedia STOLE from me returned.
Suffice to say I will NEVER do business with Expedia or any Expedia affiliate again and I would suggest anyone reading this do the same. These people, and by that I mean the upper ranks responsible for establishing and maintaining these blatantly corrupt practices
First I tried to book my package holiday and their website said 4 tickets available on the flight and the accomodation had 6 rooms left. Proceed to booking and total invoice was $4500, click finalize and promted with a cannot proceed message. Contact Expedia directly and after an hour on the phone they explain that the flight is booked out as their website doesn't update immediately (not my fault but now my problem) but if I pay another $211 they will get me the seats... Bill now goes to $4711... Customer service was non existent and finally after nearly 1.5 hours on the phone I get confirmation all is finalized but had to book immediately as i was warned it prices would go up by hundreds of dollars in the next hour if I didn't commit to the extra charges. Receive my itinerary and click on the hotel link and funny enough i can get the same hotel, room etc for $120 less than what I just paid... 40 mins later and after sending a number of screen shots through to Expedia I receive a price match and a $50 credit (cant use for this booking though)... I then go to book another hotel and guess what - cant use the credit as it doesnt meet the terms and conditions (which you cannot find on the website)... Call Expedia and was on the phone for another 40 mins trying to get a clear answer as to why I could not use my promotional voucher which could not be answered. The agent then charged my credit card the full amount without my authorisation then advised that I would receive a $56 reimbursement. This is not acceptable as I did not provide authority to make this charge at the full rate and what happens if my credit card did not have the available funds? Would Expedia pay my credit card overcharge fee? Never again will I use this service. For the sake of paying a few dollars more I will use a face to face travel agent for all bookings or source another online provider that is simple and easy to deal with. Holidays are supposed to be enjoyable but this has already ruined my experience and I have no confidence that these bookings including flights will be confirmed as per my specific requests as all transactions with Expedia were conducted over the phone via a poor phone connection with a so called customer service agent that did not have a clear understanding of my requests. Never again will I use or recommend Expedia. The biggest mistake I made was not looking at previous customer reviews online before using this service I now understand why there is a 1 out of 5 overall customer experience rating.
It is quite similar to other sites, Expedia is just one of the best sites around as I write reviews on this site as I do with SiteJabber.
I used this service for several times and every time I had different problems.
Great service, great room, easily handled all over Canada. Including our dog & flights
I've been using Expedia since they started. I have never been disappointed with them.
Expedian is a brilliant site and I visit it on a regular basis. Very good website.
Recently bought a package flight + hotel and hotel was discounted at 70%!
I liked this site. Perhaps if I'm going somewhere, I will use them
Expedia is by far one of the easiest websites to use, in order to find the perfect vacation!
I often buy my trips on Expedia! I love all their deals!
The deals are good and the information thorough. Easy site to navigate.
It is good site, the prices are very low and the quality of hotels is just outstanding.

I called the customer service again, they said they can not provide me with the booking? I said that is ok, than release the funds you reserved. They said they can not do that? I should contact paypal?

Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
Expedia has a rating of 2.1 stars from 1,603 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Expedia most frequently mention customer service, credit card and next day. Expedia ranks 203rd among Travel Search Engine sites.
