Paying for a room that the date was wrong. No refund at all and will never use Expedia again. They made a 157.00 and lost a customer for life
I really like this site not just because they have more hotels listed than others infact they are listed many cheap travel packages
Until the package portion of the app works, doesn't really help with quick trip look ups. The flight and hotel portions work well.
Never again, the worse customer service the just talk nicely and just good for purchasing, don't want deal with them coming to trouble
It's the only company I will ever use. I buy the airline ticket and hotel combo, even when I go to Dubai or Canada. No complaints from me
Booked my dates wrongly, called IMMEDIATELY after to try to get help... They didn't help. Instead, bounced me to at least 7 different callers in India. SERIOUSLY, GUYS?
Expedia owns Home away! Stay away from Expedia too. The new fees just rip off the consumer once again. Avoid at all cost! Zero, None Nada, 0, stars!
One of the worst tour operators. After booked and pay it imposable to find customer service. I tried three days and failed. I do not recommend
Very usefull website for comparing hotels, flights... I recommend to all my friends who are goin to travel.
I made a hotel reservation in Feb. 2016 but later cancelled at the expedia website before free cancelation expired. Soon later I got an email from them asking me if my hotel registration went well. I got alarmed because I had cancelled and so, called expedia customer service. A staff told me that everything was up to the hotel and that she would call the hotel manager. Well that was strange as I had cancelled online as I had mentioned. She claimed that they had no record. Within the hour she called me back (at another hotel where I was staying) to inform me that the hotel manager had been out and that he was the only one who could take care of it. She would try again but I never heard from her again.
Back at home, I tried unsuccessfully to straighten this out through email with expedia customer service. They denied having any record of my phone call to customer service (!) and thus everything else. This exchange by email went on for weeks and in the middle I had requested to speak with their management by name. Instead of that I was sent a general customer service number, a number I could not use for free because of being abroad. I then searched the internet to find out that it is practically impossible to do what I wanted according to various people who have tried to speak directly with someone in expedia management. Given the difficulty, the likely high phone costs, and being so busy at work, I gave up out of frustration. I am determined never to give business to expedia and its associated companies ever again. In the end, I believe they will lose out more than my own loss, for I do extensive travel each year. In my mind, expedia unquestionably is a bunch of thieves.
I was looking to take my girlfriend to Moab for a long outdoors weekend over Valentine's Day. With only a couple weeks left too book, I went to expedia to compare packages. Expedia did a great job of comparing multiple packages, recommending the one that best suited my budget and my requirements. Booking was a snap. BBBBUUUTTT... In less than a day, Expedia had canceled my booking. They said the hotel canceled the booking butbcouldn't tell me why so I reached out to the lodging rental company themselves. Apparently, Expedia had acrually overbooked people at that lodging location and so they had to start canceling people (just like on an airplane). Expedia tried to blame the hotel for the error. The hotel manager was as ticked at Expedia as I was and said I wasn't the only one this had happened to. She gave me 25% off my stay if I booked again directly through the hotel.
Both my girlfriend and I had already requested time off work, booked flights on a plane, and most importantly, really gotten our hopes up. Now we're stuck at stage 1 of planning again. My advice, yes use Expedia (or better yet, a different, similar site) to compare travel plans and find one that meets your needs, but DON'T book through them. Book directly through the hotel, airline, car rental agency themselves. You don't want to end up having the rug pulled out from under you at the last minute like happened to us. Trust me, it really stinks. I'll never use Expedia again.
They will screw up your vacation.
Give you a % off forget about it then put you in the wrong hotel no where near your distination
I will NEVER use expedia again. Found out the morning I was leaving to go home they changed my flight and didn't even notify me!
Good Website but poor service, I booked two tickets for me and my wife to England but got no response from them.
Always plenty of hotels to choose from. Easy to book. This is the one travel site I go to more than others.
Expedia is a pretty good travel site. I use it regularly to plan family trips, and I have yet to be disappointed.
I had a problem with a flight and I couldn't believe that I called them and they answered and helped me, unlike Priceline who disappears after I buy my tickets or have an issue.
Can't get anyone on the phone. When you do they will lie to you about refund policy, they will not work with you. They will steal your money.
Just had the WORST experience with Expedia. I purchased the protection plan when booking my trip, and unfortunately a couple of days after booking my trip (and 10 days before our trip) I got sick and we had to cancel our trip. Called Expedia (1.5 hour hold) to say we wanted to cancel and get our refund (because, protection plan) and after they called the hotel and airline the Expedia representative asks if we also want our insurance plan refunded. My husband was confused and the guy made it seem like we were supposed to get refunded for that too so he refunded it (AKA - HE CANCELLED AND REFUNDED OUR PROTECTION PLAN and then tried to say we couldn't get anything refunded because they cancelled our protection plan!). What? I told you I wanted my trip refunded. They tried to confuse and trick us into getting the protection plan refunded (cancelled) so that they didn't have to refund us. been on hold with their insurance provider now for another hour and was told there was nothing they could do because we cancelled our protection plan. After grabbing the phone and yelling at the guy, he's going to "call the hotel and airline in the morning" but he has to "follow the policy" and it's up to the hotel and airlines discretion now. Absolutely ridiculous and dishonest.
Answer: You were lucky to get through to anyone at all at Expedia. I've spent hours and hours and hours over three days trying to get through to anyone on their customer service phone line, their chat line and their e-mail, all to no avail. They really owe their customers much better customer service.
Answer: Demand to speak to a Supervisor though you better have time because it will take anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once the Supervisor does nothing or little to nothing to resolve your concern, ask to speak to a manager. Get ready to really wait. DO NOT ACCEPT THE "WE'LL HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU WITHIN 24 to 48 HOURS" When you figure out you don't matter, sit down and right a review!
Expedia has a rating of 2.1 stars from 1,603 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Expedia most frequently mention customer service, credit card and next day. Expedia ranks 203rd among Travel Search Engine sites.
