They will do nothing for you as far as cancellation even with the insurance that we purchased. We had a death in the family during flight and returned immediately on another Airline and called the next day to cancel the hotel and the return flight and they did nothing to help out. Don't book with them!

Horrible experience

Even though airlines policy allows cancelation and changes expedia does not. They keep your money and do not care about covid or anything else going on. This is a class action lawsuit in the making. Hate them

I canceled my European vacation to Berlin due to Corona Virus. The Air France ticket was premium economy and was 1700. 00.
The airline kept it's refund promise.
The Waldorf Astoria, Berlin is a Hilton property. Hilton is offering full refunds as this virus was no ones fault. Expedia sent an email stating I would receive 399.00 as our credit for hotel!? After weeks of trying to reach Expedia, spending hours of my time, the call would disconnect after long periods of waiting. If that wasn't enough frustration, our final credit posted was for 186.00!? Basically Expedia ripped us off big time By keeping our money. Now we must pay. I intend to call my attorney out of principle. This is my thanks for years of loyalty! Greed in American companies. It's pathetic! If your considering using them, think again!

Book locally through a small travel agent. I mistakenly booked my Aunt through her maiden name instead of married. Expedias agents were trained improperly so they assumed it would be fixed with a form submission. They were wrong about that. It's only acceptable with certain airlines and it can't be more than one. Due to broken English staff couldn't explain issues with airlines and I guess due to not being able to write detailed notes saying they made mistakes… I lost 4,500 usd on plane tickets just over a name change that the airlines said they could fix without Expedia reporting if.

I have used Expedia in the past and didn't have an issue however, they have changed their policies AND fine print! Buyer BEWARE! Do not use this service. I lost so much money with this ripoff service. As hurricane Michael moved in they rubbed their hands together at the amount of money they would steal from innocent customers. They kept all my money for airfare and hotels saying they were non- refundable tickets! Really? Eff you Expedia, I've told everyone I know how you steal from hard working Americans. I will never recommend or use another service for travel again. Out 700.$ thanks to a natural occurrence and a crooked business operation. Stay away from these scammers!

I booked a hotel with Expedia and was not informed of a $29 a night parking fee. It was not on the booking information or on my confirmation information dealing with room and total price. I called 4 times and was left on hold and was told by a supervisor I should have checked the hotel website. Needless to say I will never book with them again.

Never had a problem

I have personally used Expedia almost exclusively for our weekend getaways for 8 years. I haven't had a problem yet, or ever.
I wouldn't book my dream vacation abroad with them, but for our trips to Mammoth, Yosemite, Big Bear, ect, they've never failed me. Excellent customer service.

Expedia. Is so misleading. I have been screwed twice by them. The insurance is a scam. I tried to cancel a hotel because of covid. I had bought the insurance just in case I needed to cancel. And then when I had to. You can't get them to do a thing about it. They promised to return phone calls and never do. They give you lines that they can't get a hold of the hotel. It's like they try to stall up to the last minute when it's to late. I work over a week trying to get some done. In my view they are a dishonest company never again will I use them and surely will share my views with Everyone I know.

Never Again

Booked holiday & flight through them on 7th January 2017, and have had nothing but problems. Two flight changes, so cancelled that & re-booked elsewhere, just had to change hotel that had been booked, awaiting a part refund, awaiting revised ATOL certificate... going in 1 weeks time!
They are an absolute nightmare to deal with, either on phone or by email.
Will definitely note be using them again!
Unfortunately have had to award 1 star, as that is lowest possible option. Would have given zero if that was there.

Expedia emailed me stating my expedia flight credits need to be redeemed by 12/31. I login, click 'use credits' and come to the search for flights page. The page does not load after many attempts, rebooting WiFi, and using multiple browsers. The main page loads flights without any issues at all. Spoke to customer service using vitrual chat, was told to contact the airline. Airline has zero records, told to contact expedia again. Expedia customer service is an absolute abomination, not helpful whatsoever. Basically long story short they stole over $600 from me. Do not book with expedia, no "deal" is worth the risk you will take or the headache of hearing "ma'am, there's nothing I can do for you" for hours.

Zero customer service

I needed to get a credit my flights I purchased just 2 hours after booking them. Spent 20 minutes explaining to half a dozen people to be put on hold for ages, eventually I hung up and they did not return to my call. Cost me heaps ringing from an overseas mobile!

EXPEDIA I will never ever use again for ANYTHING! You should have called me back and finished the call professionally. Absolutely unless, never again and I'll be telling everyone I know.

I have been really frustrated with Expedia's response to the coronavirus. At various times, they have removed options from their website for canceling flights and its been virtually impossible to talk to them by phone. After three weeks of calling, I finally got through, only to have the customer service rep hang up on me. The second rep I talked to informed me that their travel insurance (which I purchased) is basically worthless. Rather than a refund on my flight, the best they could do is a voucher that expires well before I need to do any additional travel. I've used their service for years, and its been generally OK. However, when it came down to a time when good customer service was needed, they were no where to be found. I will never use them again.

Not worth the savings

I've traveled a lot over my many years, yet this is the first time I've tried Expedia. It's also the first time I've experienced a horrendous return flight of delays, missed connections, and lost luggage. I don't even know how much money I may have saved, but it certainly wasn't worth the hassle endured. The only reason I gave them two stars is because we eventually arrived home safely. Buh-bye, Expedia; never again.

I just booked through expedia, and I saved a lot of money. Also, if you make a flight with one stop, try to have connection with 3 or 4 hours long because customs and security may make you wait a long line.

STAY AWAY!

Expedia caused a huge problem when I was grieving due to burrying my baby sister. They lied repeatedly, day after day. We had to exchange a ticket, meaning cancel one and buy another with a different departure location. They made promise after promise about refunding the money. They lied, they put you on hold for very long periods of time. They are the worst experience I have ever had making reservations. They charged substancially more then I would have paid if I just called the airline. I will never use this service again. I was warned before booking the flight, but I did not listen. I wish I had.

I have never had such a bad experience with a company in my life. Their policies are beyond comprehension. I booked a flight and upgraded to first class, then covid canceled our plan. Now I want to downgrade the ticket to use in coach so I can go on two trips. Even though the airline says you absolutely can do this, Expedia said that have no way to and it can't be done. 5 hours and 4 agents later they say there's no email and no way to reach corporate. I've used Expedia over 40 times to book my flight, car rentals and hotels. I caution you to book through them. I will never use this site again!

Absolutely horrible customer service. Our flight was canceled (due to COVID 19 travel restrictions) by the the airline (fully refunded), but Expedia has declined $316.00 refund on hotel. I contacted hotel directly and was assured they (hotel) has not processed any payment. Hotel informed me any refund would come through Expedia only. I have spoken with 4 different Expedia reps (one rep deleted call information - glad I screen shot all correspondence) to be left with a voucher to use during a time period I am unable to travel. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company in hopes of a full refund. I will NEVER use Expedia again! What a nightmare.

Horrible

NOT worth even one star!
This was the worst experience in my life! After spending hours on phones calls, emails and faxes, they even didn't submit my application to the flight company, it's been about 10weeks and now I have to wait another 8 weeks for the refund. I will not use EXPEDIA again and will be sure to spread our reviews to friend, family, colleagues, and social media!

My account on their website shows I have credit but won't let me redeem it. When I contact customer service they say that their website is not correct and that I don't have any applicable credits. Doesn't make any sense. I've spent hours trying to get through to customer service. They either hang up on me or end the chat on me or legit take hours to respond via chat. Waste of time trying to get my money back. Had to dispute the transaction with my bank instead.

I made an airline reservation with Expedia. The airline ultimately discontinued one of the flights in my route. Expedia couldn't get the airline to honor the rate for a replacement flight. Dealing with Expedia has been difficult and time consuming and I appear to have no other recourse. Any money I might have saved by using them I'm paying for in grief.

Expedia ultimately did find an alternative, but the process took over a week.
