Found out in Calif that I needed EPA Phase 2 fireplaces which raised cost from $800 to $2800. Further my contractor bid the chimney parts out at $4000. I needed a fire ring that was way bigger then what can be found in the big box stores. After searching the web I found a 60" diameter 16" tall steel fire ring. Ships in five sections that bolt together. Shipped and delivered within a reasonable amount of time.

I bought the Empire DVD42FP31N Tahoe Deluex Direct Vent fireplace... arrived damage, cracked with a hole. Bottom, forklift damage bent frame where you can't put glass front on. You would think this company would take some pride and responsibly and correct this. But KNOW they will not. They want me to take the loss.
Takes customer service to the next level especially when all the info you have to make an ordering decision is a photo and manufactures description.

Erin the sales rep was very helpful! The fireplace was what we wanted and needed. It arrived quickly. The remote was missing but came four days later. The logs were a little pricey but much better than our last ones.
I received gas logs and no remote. I paid a plumber to set them up when I was out of town, and I found out I did not receive a remote, after they were installed. After weeks of sending pictures of the boxes, the logs etc, several times, I was told the logs I received were the wrong logs and not compatible for a remote. They even tried to blame my plumber, for installing the wrong logs, when he did not know what I had ordered or that a remote was supposed to be included. Over a month later, And me repeatedly calling them, And them repeatedly not calling me back as promised, I finally agreed on keeping the logs with a small credit. However, the credit was for the logs only. I'm anxious to see if the refund is on my credit card statement. Very disappointed after spending almost 1500. 00
Ordering anything over the internet always creates a tinge of uncertainty. My experience with eFireplaceStore however was exceptional. First, the logs arrived within a week of ordering but unfortunately, one of the well-packed logs was broken. I called eFireplaceStore not knowing what to expect and within 24 hours a replacement log was sent to my house. That's good service and a product guarantee. Nice job!
I initially received an inferior, poorly made set of folding fireplace doors. I was asked for a couple of photos showing the issues and in three days a new set of flawless doors arrived at my house. Can't ask for more than that.
Was looking for a fireplace. Spoke to both Will & Nevins and both of them are EXTREMELY knowledgeable and well versed in everything I was asking about. There was not a single question that they did not know the answer to and have a personal opinion on. I had a long list of questions and spent over an hour picking both of their brains before I made my decision about which item was right for me and I know that with their knowledge I picked the best one I could have selected. Their prices were also fantastic and the people who I spoke with in customer service were also smart, efficient and fantastic. In a day and age when so much is farmed out to other countries and people are just reading facts from a screen its incredibly refreshing to find a company where you can tell everyone is passionate about what they do. I had purchased an 18 year old Majestic vent free never installed gas fireplace. I installed it in November along with a blower kit but no thermostat but I decided to simplify things and get one. I went on eFirePlace.com which had numerous ones to choose from and I definitely picked a great one. So simple to install with two mounting options. A couple of months ago I purchased a fireplace screen from them. I never received it and eventually when it dawned on me that I had not received it, I contacted them. They immediately returned my email with tracking information. When I tracked the package, they were indeed correct, and it said that the package had been left at the front door. I contacted them again to say that indeed, I see that it indicates the package was delivered, however I assume it was taken from my doorstep. I contacted them back and they immediately shipped me a new one that arrived in todays. I was so impressed with their trust of the customer, in this case me. I live in Beverly Hills and flip homes for a living. Moving forward, I will continue to give them business for all the homes I work on moving forward. I was so extremely impressed. It is not often you find a company with such an amazing customer service.
Your agent gent knew his product and did not have to rely on the computer description. We also discussed alternate solutions to my fireplace pilot light blowing out by the wind. After adding a 3' section of vent pipe to the roof I also made a 1" bigger wind guard for the pilot light which corrected the problem.

Answer: Hi Ed, Thanks so much for your interest. That's a fair question as receiving freight shipments is not, generally, a normal part of the day for most people. Yes, the customer does indeed need to be present at time of delivery. This is to not only physically receive the freight but also to inspect it and sign for it. Most freight companies will not allow their driver to simply drop the freight without the customer being present. Regarding the unloading, there are two options listed below. These are common for online sales and delivery. You can choose "curbside delivery" which is free and will have the driver bring the freight to you but the unloading is your responsibility. Often, our customers will back up their pick-up truck the rear of the delivery trailer. That way the merchandise can be off-loaded into their vehicle and they can drive it right up to the home. Alternatively, you can choose "liftgate delivery" which includes a hydraulic tailgate on the rear of the delivery truck for lowering the merchandise down to the ground. This option carries a cost of $75. Once off-loaded to the ground, moving the freight up to the home is the customer's responsibility. Regarding "hidden costs" there are none - unless a delivery appointment is made and then broken by the customer. The shipping company levies a $130 redelivery fee to have the merchandise brought back out to the customer. However, this only applies if the customer changes their mind on the delivery appointment or the delivery address after the delivery has been scheduled. In either case, at time of delivery, it is very important that the shipment be fully inspected for loss or damage prior to the shipment being signed for and received.
