Bought a pair of boots for $90 - never arrived. Depop took no responsibility, just referred me to PayPal. I don't recommend this site.

Awful avoid!

Same experience of everyone else on here. Had a great account, great feedback. Had my account suspended. Yet I had listed items I'd bought off other sellers who had active not suspended accounts. They claimed my items were used - ok so what impression are you giving allowing people to sell you items that then when they re list them, you close their account down for? Your site sells these things. They breach all major rules in the cosmetic industry claiming perfume and other items are health and safety risks. This is false, no high end beauty company risks customers safety with perfume testers available for the public to use. These are sealed containers. Impossible to contaminate. Depop is a disgrace and if they are unregulated and an app promoting second hand items - they should not be closing people's accounts down. And keeping the extortionate fees, not refunding those. Offer no customer service for the fees charged unlike eBay. If you have a problem they pass you off to paypal. Absolutely disgusting app which is over run by scammers and sad little girls in bedrooms who are jealous if you complain about an item they've scammed you for and try to report your items to get your account shut. Too $#*!y, too backstabbing and the awfulness of social media - trolling and vinducituve behaviour, is allowed on here which results in innocent sellers getting targeted, abused and then their account shut down. Depop doesn't care and this app should be shut down. It's not in line with any laws, their beauty section is a mess, they take all your listings down then close your account down. But support scammers! Grace is rude and doesn't care, I've reported then to reading standards and taking legal action against them. I advise everyone else too aswell. The more people who complain to trading standards and legally the sooner this app will have to change.

I'm a seller, who has sold 90 items there with all of 5 stars good reviews.
I know I'm not a big seller at Depop compared to those sellers who sold thousands of items. But I think I shouldn't be treated like this!

They send me an email to notify me:
You have double accounts, so we deactivated both of your accounts because you violate our policies.
How can I know I can't have another account? I didn't use that account for like 2 years, just for this ridiculous reason, they deactivate both of my accounts.

Also, I checked my email box every day, I received their email to let me delete the other account no more than 1 day. They can't even wait 24 hours to get my permit.

Then they removed many of my listings. When I logged my account again, they move upward all of my sold out listing and move downward all of my still selling stuff. It makes people feel like this is a deactived account.

One listing is removed because I include another brand's name. I'm not spam, I just describe the tweed jacket's STYLE as similar to Chanel's classical tweed jacket.

Other items because I used the official website's model pictures.

Alright, first, is there anyone really reading your policies line by line before using an App?

Even though I violated your policies, since you can send me messages and emails to notify me you have removed my listings, why can't you notify sellers to change to modify their listings within one day? Even though I used official website photos, I write the descriptions and measured the clothing by myself. All of these things spend my time!

They also removed my listing just because I include one Brand's name, even though all of the photos are taken by myself.

That is what they will do to the seller's account!

They won't give you second chance or don't want to think of what is a more acceptable way.

I realized this is totally a disgusting company using some beautiful slogans and mission statements to cover their rude behaviors.

They stated that all they do is for building a better community. Okay, I think your community is only composed of BUYERS instead of SELLERS, right? Because you treat Depop sellers as $#*!. Without any respect.

I recently downloaded the app to purchase some sneakers my sister wanted. She sent me the link and I ordered them. After I ordered the sneakers she comes back to me and tell me she realize this were fake and she didn't want them. I didn't feel safe buying fake sneakers so I reached out to the seller And and never answered me back until 2 days later. I was worried so I reached out to the app costumer service and PayPal. Let me tell you PayPal is a joke and fraud! They refuse to help me get my money back they told me I had to wait to receive the item and once I receive it to make a claim with them they will give the seller 10 days to respond and after I might get my money. Like I had no choice to change my mind! I reached don't to the seller again I requested a refund the seller said she will process the refund and next thing you know I get a notification that my item was shipped. When I tried to go back on the app my username and email "didn't exit". This is all bull and a scam. I emailed the app kelp desk but I'm pretty sure they are all scamming. So I'll be reporting them with my credit card company. BIG FRAUD DO NOT PURCHASE FROM HERE. INSTEAD OF RESOLVING MY ISSUE THEY DELETED MY ACCOUNT.

Use Vinted or eBay instead because Depop is run by a bunch of out of date hipster morons. They harass honest sellers with good reviews yet seem to overlook/not notice the thousands of fake accounts set up to con people out of their money. They constantly delete items you list - FOR NO REASON (they have a list of reasons as to why they delete items but none of mine fell under them so when I contacted them to point this out, apparently I need to provide receipts to prove what I was selling is mine - absolutely pathetic excuse). They have hundreds of vinage sellers whom they promote (who by the way break their "rules of selling" by using irrelevant hashtags but instead of deleting their items, they promote them on the popular page - favouritism at its finest or should I say worst); do the vintage sellers provide receipts for their second hand goods they're selling? I think not. Don't use this app if you want to constantly be harassed by imbeciles who work at depop yet they still can't provide any kind of customer service. My account has now been suspended due to supposedly being linked to another account (which it wasn't) & I've gone back & forth with the "support" team, to no avail. They won't tell me what account I was apparently linked to (because I wasn't), so then the response was I infringed their "terms of use" so my account won't be reinstated -?!? So it's either my account was linked to another or I infringed their terms of use (which I never received any emails about either), the people that run this app all need to be fired because they are utterly awful & completely shocking. I urge anyone who has also had the same appalling treatment to contact Trading Standards on ******* ******* & email BBC Watchdog on watchdog(@)bbc.co.uk please keep all email correspondence with the depop staff as evidence too.

You can tell trustpilot reviews of Depop those with "invited" are selectively invited by Depop to write reviews, not all the people find them good the reviews are being manipulated make to believe they are good are indeed poor, those reviews who aren't "invited" are then the genuine reviews, in trustpilot it always ask before you post "i am eligible to leave this review and have not been offered any incentive or payment to leave a review for this company" meaning you leave a genuine comment not one that has been bribe. The app simply wasted a lot of genuine seller's time to remove them for the smallest reason, supposedly you are meant to sell your secondhand goods that you don't wear but they went miles to remove them after you list - are they not time waster? The sellers had no protection whatsoever and they get scammed ever so often yet Depop kept all the scammer in there to kick out the genuine seller, these fools behind scene doesn't seem to be able to discern between right and wrong, black or white, some of those work behind scene are so arrogant and proud when dealing an issue, it's a matter of time for you to find out they are nothing helpful yet they kept sending you emails asking to review them tbh they have very low EQ and doesn't know human interaction and relationship in sales. Don't Waste your time building up your business in Depop, they took 13% fees and not long after they remove you for a stupid reason. I totally agree Vinted is growing and will soon overtake, more importantly 0% fees. I listed L'Occitane with vinted for only 5minutes someone bought the item which I had the same listed on Depop for over a month no one buys them.

Let someone scan me

Purchased a dress from *******@ccrauh and she told me she would only be able to ship on Jan 15th so I emailed her on the night of the 15th to ask if she had a chance to ship the dress or when to expect shipment. I did not hear back from her for a few days so I got upset that it had been over five weeks total now and she has ALWAYS been difficult to reach even when her profile says ACTIVE TODAY. So she still hasn't shipped my item so I opened a dispute with PayPal which finally got her attention and she made so many excuses for it such as being busy with school. I was understanding at first until she couldn't find a printer to print the label then when she finally did and shipped the item it CAME BACK TO HER because the label expired! I was understanding again and asked when she could resend it. Again no information no updates no communication nothing! I was livid at this point so I escalated the dispute and she came FULL ON DISRESPECTING ME calling ME insane and impatient when she's the one who can't get her life together to ship one item? I am insane for waiting for five weeks believing her fraudulent lies. This woman is a psychotic bully and expects everyone to be understanding of her situation while she doesn't care about anyone else's. Depop avoided the situation about three times and when they finally looked into the messages they said there was nothing they could do. Depop let's scammers get away with bullying and fraudulent activity.

Banned, defamed and denied funds that are mine.

I was a seller on Depop for just over a year with a good reputation, good reviews and zero issues.

On Tuesday December 27, I posted a replica (fake) skull head with mounted hardware included on the back. I stated in the title and multiple times in the listing that it was, indeed, not real. The listing was public for three days.

On Friday December 30th, I received an email from Depop stating that the item had been removed per their "Prohibited and Restricted Items" and "infringement on their rules". Within just two minutes I received another email stating that my account had now been permanently banned. I was never given a chance to make it right, if there was a problem or threat.

The only contact I had was through email, and I was passed around to about 4 or 5 different customer service individuals who call themselves "Team Depop". Their customer service is appalling. None of them could even provide a category that the item fell under, as I was told different things.

Per their policy, Depop states that they "will work with a user to rectify a situation", but I was never given that chance. They made an assumption which was a mistake, and I am now no longer able to even get on the app or website. They told me to "consider myself permanently banned", and "any new accounts made will also be banned and reported".

On top of the item that was removed, they eventually told me that I posed a threat to the Depop community. Their allegations are preposterous and demeaning, as I did nothing wrong.

Defamation aside, the biggest issue and my reason for going public is because I sold two items on the platform to one buyer the week of Christmas. The items were delivered yesterday, January 3. Depop was, and still is, refusing to release those funds made.

I have those emails, the screenshots from the Depop communication as well as my information and details on the listing/item in question. I also have the information and shipping information from the last sale that Depop is refusing to release the funds from. I have since posted videos on social media and YouTube calling this for what it is. NO business has ANY right to withhold funds that are yours.

I am willing to do all that I can to be justified and to, most importantly, receive the funds that are mine. I don't know, legally, how they are able to do this as I am not sure what happens to funds sitting idle.

They have since ceased all communication with me. If you use or sell on this platform, I would highly recommend shutting it down because this ludicrous situation could happen to you. I will execute all of my avenues to get what is owed to me.

Depop allows users to publicly engage in the platform with account names like SUCKDIXXX, $#*!NERS, TWATSTITCH etc without a blink the same way they don't bat an eye at the outrageous amount of counterfeit handbags... the reports sent are never looked at and the listings are never authenticated, removed etc but that HOW DID WE DOOOOO!?!?!?!? Email is always in my inbox hours later. I reported a scammer after noticing sketchy listings and again after I messaged her back when she reached out to me... being a sketchy scammer that no one (except for Depop) has any time or patience for. I know that Depop finally read that "report" because I was banned for being a THREAT to the "Depop Community" :/ She's still scamming people on Depop though :) Want some icing on this cake? After banning me "Tara" from Customer Service emailed that she hopes I understand that although I'm an "immediate threat" to the community she needs me to help her confirm information about this scammer... who they still allow to scam (ehhem, I mean sell) on the platform. WHAT? No Tara no, sorry... double standards galore!

I Have been targeted for no reason! Depop are just making up excuses to close my account when I have explained so so many times that I haven't done anything. I'm not drop shipping I've sent proof of this and I had permission to use a stock image from the owner so I don't really see what previous term I have infringed. They keep on saying I have multiple infringements but I have explained and explained that I was hacked once, they want to close my account without even give me a chance to prove I'm not drop shipping and they believe the bully over me and they just don't listen to me and I keep on saying I'm wrong when I explain to them that I never intentionally infringed any terms and want to be told me this was against their terms they stop doing it so why the penalising me. When you try to prove to them that you are right they give an automated response like 'decision is final'. They don't even let you explain! They made a mistake by closing my account without letting me send proof so can't I have my account back in return for that mistake they admitted! What I see is clear discrimination and you believing a bully over me

This girl called cuddleparty was bullying me I sent a report and they didn't even acknowledge it but instead the closed my account! She said stuff like you have an unusually small brain' and they just ignored it! See the blatant discrimination and the way I've been targeted!
I WON'T STOP FIGHTING FOR MY ACCOUNT BACK THIS IS SO UNFAIR DEPOP

Please share this so I can get my account back because I am so upset that they have closed it when I haven't done anything wrong and I have so many orders I need to post

This business, whatever it is, blocks/suspends your account for no single reason. When asked why, they careless and quiet rudely reply something like, "Your account is suspended, and you will never be able to make an account ever again." Hahaha, how self-important can you be? There are so many alternatives to portals like this one. Gosh, get lost, inadequate!

Taking a chance

You have to realize when purchasing, these are young people who prolly don't have transportation to ship orders right away. Yea stuff is cheap but the shipping and tax is $#*!ed. It is easy to mail if your standards are good. Other than that you can take your sweet $#*! time unless you like money. The pictures these females take are disgusting. This isn't a porn or dating site. I cancelled account. You don't know who stealing your pictures. They don't do refunds and you can't talk directly if you have an issue.
