Booked a cruise for the first time with CruiseDirect. I read the reviews online prior to contacting them. They offered extra perks in addition to NCL. I had a hold and then phoned in to book the next day. I have dealt with many different agents via chat and phone (asking various questions and confirming things). Each agent has been outstanding, friendly and very professional. Never once have I been made to feel like my question isn't important. I highly recommend CruiseDirect. Sebastian van Lengen was the agent I booked my cruise with, Jose Flores did an online chat with me as did Alexander Gaitan, Vincent Valdez and Carlos Diaz.
We have been on several cruises and know what questions to ask, etc. It is important to know the terms and conditions BEFORE you purchase, check the deck plans for room location, etc. Know if price drops after final payment you can't get price adjustment (if price went up you wouldn't expect to pay more),
The experience of planning a cruise for my family was made easier because Sebastian Van Lengen helped me with every need and want of my family. Recently, I tried to put a cruise with Cruise Direct for 2017. Their website had a glitch in which the available cabins were including the Library! Eventhough the agent assigned me a cabin number I could not feel assured that the cabin was available since it was part of that glitch. Also, the invoice that they sent me was repeatedly incorrect! Not itemized right. So I canceled the reservation.
After my Cruise was canceled i found cruisedirect, they helped me redeem my future Cruise crédits and gave me a great deal! Super easy and fast service
I have been going back and forth with the "human" texting people from Cruisedirect.com They have fed me different stories and a basket of inaccuracies for 2 months now.
I fully blame myself since I have used them on the past 4 times and had to hunt them out for help twice and one time when we did not get what was promised I was told "we will make it up next time you book".
This time we paid it full in July, then when cruises took a dive in October, we moved from an Oceanview to a Balcony and still had $$$$ left to our benefit. I was told that we would have it as a credit. Now we are told to pay more $$$$ and that the Cruise line... not named since this is Not THEIR Issue... had refunded us money twice and now we had to pay Cruise direct more. Well, we never got a refund and when contacted the cruise line said they don't deal with refunds from third parties, the third party (Cruisedecay.com) must deal with it. They also agreed that they did not send a refund since they don't do that for 3rd parties, others, bookings.
So Cruisedirect now wants more $$$$$ as well as has the overpayment for our cruise... I wanted to just go and stay on the ship and relax... now I just am so pent up I don't even want to go.
This company has put such distatse to the idea of a cruise that I will NEVER use them again.
