They take your premium money and do not invest in their operation in order to handle the traffic they have. Millions of new "subscribers" (free) account to a DNS attack and most of them are "gamers" and not chess players, using engines to cheat for the "score." So, a paying member cannot access the site, period, nor the premium features they paid for, then they are cheated by the millions of DNS free members who can just create a new profile and come back and cheat again. Chess.com will not deal with obvious cheaters because that would be admitting to a problem that they would have to deal with, and they don't want to deal with it. They want to take your premium money and give you nothing in return but free member cheaters. SUGGESTION: Premium players should be on their own server(s) and have the ability to only play against other premium players who care to support the site. Let the freeloaders suffer 503/DNS errors and let the paying players enjoy the fruits of their contributions to your site.
I play chess whole my life, I have played lot of professional tournaments in real life. But on chess.com they "closed my account for cheating", when I reach 2000, without any evidence. When I send mail to them, they didnt answer me. My account have never be closed on other sites like lichess and RHP.
And we all know that lichess is better with findind cheaters. On chess.com they have poor way to detect cheaters so they acuse probaly many innocent players.
So i decide to continue playing only on lichess because Iam sure they will not ban innocent.
Conslusion: This was my worst and insultung experience in chess ever. So my suggestion is dont use this site ever.
Disappointed with how slow you can move the pieces on this game, my last game i played my move to checkmate the King i had made the move but said I had lost the game on time but I had already made the move, if I had lost on time I wouldnt of been able to move?
I subscribed for game analysis, then they redid their business model and mid-subscription stopped honoring my features! They split all the features I cared about into a new "bundle" and tried to charge me more than 3 times as much to recover the features I was already paying for!
I never see any chess streamers use the chess.com analysis, so you'd think their marketing team would make an effort to not scam the client base they're lucky to have. Completely disappointing and transparent treatment by a seemingly reputable company that unfortunately hired some freemium cash funneling sales team. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO ANYTHING WITH THIS DISHONORABLE COMPANY. THEY ARE LOW REVIEWED FOR A REASON.
This website is just a shame, everything is fcking expensive and you don't have access to anything good compare to lichess this is a clear cut, pls die chesscome
Site advertises they match ppl skill. UNTRUE. I was matched with 225+ plyers over my pts. UNFAIR play
Hello! On Chess.com you can use a setting to limit your game pairings based on opponent ratings. That way you can always pair with someone close to your rating!

Poor customer service and high latency. Seems like they are way over capacity on their servers, while refusing to add more servers.

After a few hours of playing you run into obviously fake connection problems that can be solved by buying a magic subscription...
chess.com cheats and evan hacks and supports cheaters and hackers. chess.com will withdraws funds from your accounts with out your authority and knowing about it. I was blocking persons when i know cheating was involved but chess.con has removed the blocker so i couldnt block them, when i quite last night 8-5-21 my score was 2142 this morning when i got up my score was 2138 this means that chess.com took 4 points off my score this proves that chess.com does support cheaters and hackers chess.com has done this meany of times the hacker is still getting into my computers trying too get card info so he came stell money out of my account. I think this guy has a mental problem and is obsessed with me he just cant let go its like a itch he cant scratch. chess.com has been in court about these things im sure they have fun with that there are other reviews that talk about all of these things. There is at least one were a guy was kicked out for cheating he claims he didnt do it. My guess is that a cheater was cought red handed but chess.com didnt want to get ride of him so they blamed it on this guy and kick him out and kept the real cheater. This would not surprise me at all. The guy they blame it on was probably some they wated too get rid of anyway chess.com is all about money and dont really care about the players these people are just pawns that chess.com takes advantage of
If you give chess.com your card info watch your account like a hawk
this is my review rod kalman
Very abusive admins that will kick and ban people for something as small as disagreeing with them.
Horrible site; Avoid.
Took the money then said my play violated their fair play policy.
Most extraordinary.
Seems a con to me. Pay them no money
Hello, we can assist you in resolving the violation and obtaining a refund if you'll contact us at support@chess.com.
Thank you

No human can play as fast and EXACT as your robots, so stopping behaving like idiots FFS. Don't be a wimp, run the website like a man, fgets hahahahah
One day before my trial was supposed to end they converted my subscription into a yearly one and charges 125 from my account.
I cant log in on either of my accounts with chess.com and i want to play chess i don't want to find other means
I was a paying member for years. Then canceled the credit card I was using to pay. Could not figure out how to switch to another credit card. Asked. Many times. No helpful reply. Bottom line, I am no longer a paying member. Now, as of a few weeks ago, Chess.com has taken away my messaging privileges. Chat is disabled in all of my games. My opponents know that they didn't disable chat, so they assume that I did. I have no way to tell them that I didn't. Losing chess friends over this. Asked Chess.com to fix the problem. Several times, in fact. Not even the courtesy of a reply.
Quick update... David Kaufmann has been great, as in, polite and professional in getting back to me promptly, so I do appreciate that. And he also clarified why I am muted (I sent some harsh messages to other members who were rude to me first and, on that basis, probably deserved to be told what I had to say to them). Difference of opinion aside, it is their site, not mine, so I accept that I am bound by the rules. I just wish that 1) I knew what those rules were and 2) I was given a warning the first time I violated said rules. Since I never did get any kind of warning at all, I figured that I was probably NOT violating any rule (I'm sure the list of policies would be available somewhere, but I have never found it). Now that I am aware, I agree to these terms. Doesn't matter. I will NEVER get out of chess jail unless I open a new account. But I already have my chess friends tied to this account. Tough dilemma. Of course, I cannot open a new account and still keep this one going at the same time, so really damned if I do, damned if I don't.
We are really sorry for that dear Vance! Could you please send me an email to my personal email address (David.kaufmann@chess.com). I will make sure to personally handle your issue.
Thank you so much and I am really sorry for all your inconveniences.
All the best,
David Kaufmann

I WASTED MONEY ON TWO YEARS OF MEMBERSHIP. SITE IS HORRIBLY MISSMANAGED. YOU CAN CONTACT CHESS.COM BUT THEY NEVER REPLY. So FOCUS CHESS.COM OR F$#% OFF CUS YOUR STUPID.
You get muted for no reason. Even mentioning competitor sites can get you banned. Also the membership is a rip off.
I all ways have fun on chess.com. I did check out a few different chess websites at one point but I always return to chess.com.
Thanks Joseph, we really appreciate the support! :)
Answer: Yes, there are lessons, tactics and videos to get your started, plus enough novice players to play against.
Answer: Hi! If you are creating challenges with human players, they should always be another person. However, if you suspect a player of playing similarly to a computer, please let us know their username at support@chess.com. We will submit a report on these players and our cheat detection team will analyze their games for potential use of outside assistance from computer engines. Chess.com invests a lot of staff, time, and resources into making sure that people cannot cheat and use outside help during games. We also encourage players to report opponents who they suspect of cheating, and we thoroughly investigate these individuals to make sure that they are playing according to the rules. To report players for potential cheating directly, please find a game with this opponent, and then click on their profile image icon or username, a drop down menu will appear with an exclamation point icon which is the option to "Report." You can also go to their profile page and then click the exclamation point icon below and to the right of their profile picture. These reports result in an automatic cheat analysis being done on the suspected player's games and are monitored by our staff. You can learn more about our cheat detection efforts here: https://www.chess.com/article/view/chess-com-fair-play-and-cheat-detection. If you are ever again concerned about possible cheating, please let us know here or at support@chess.com. Please also feel free to send us any questions or suggestions that you may have. Thank you! -The Chess.com Team
